I don't think you need to take some songs that literally, particularly Christmas songs.

But mention of the song makes me think of Frank Kelly's comedy version of it - it's priceless.

If you don't know the song, it's about his character trying to still live in his house with Lords a leapen', burly maids eating all his food, all the birds starting pitch battles in his sitting room etc as he has to calm his mother with increasing ammounts of sedatives.
