HERE is the true answer to this confusion. When their HP reaches 0, their KO'd... but, if you get killed off, then you can't be revived. That be it. ;) And that friends is how Aeries died, she was KO'd not killed. :P
@lanyn no he wouldnt be frozen solid he'd be frozen in ice so could that it shattered once it was finished forming leaving Karegia in many pieces with series frost bite
Well, you know, this is one of those "RPG Storyline Deaths," so magic and items are useless. Thank god too because I'd hate to think of someone bringing Geyorkias back with a run-of-the-mill Life Bottle from the mom & pop store. O_o
And since we're poking at the plot anyway...shouldn't they have tried CPR first?
Ah, true. ToR does use the term "incapacitated" instead of "dying/death" (unlike Fire Emblem where you literally die if your HP gets to zero...and boy, does it suck sometimes). I think we're probably supposed to suspend our belief a little bit too, seeing as this is a game and all. ^^
Well this explains why Galuf and Aeris + [mentions 1000 more characters] couldnt be revived LOL. And why didnt they simply use a life bottle to bring back martel in Symphonia XD Now I know, everything that falls in a plothole dies!
Most people fail to realize that it's a game mechanic to die in battle. You use an item or spell to revive. Outside of battles, it's "real life" to the characters.
what is that song that plays while they talk with Curia in the town square? THe name of it I mean

Why didn't she just use Ressurection? It brings back the dead all the time, it's not like it shouldn't work in this case.

Usually, "dying" in battles mean you're just knocked unconscious. And maybe Raise Dead just lets them regain their consciouses.. That's what I think.

This makes sense if you think of Pietro in ToS and how Raine used Raise Dead to make him conscious.
