  • smply Divine

  • I'm in that weird part of YouTube again O.o

  • @kioskia1 this isn't weird...

  • @kioskia1 U dumb

  • @tritoneblues33 How does it feel to be a belligerent prick who decides to believe that one day, someone will actually give a fuck about what he has to say? You can go commit suicide now you pompous asshole. No one will miss you.

  • @kioskia1 shut up dummy

  • @tritoneblues33 Go be 5 years old somewhere else. no one wants you here.

  • @kioskia1 no, you got it wrong again dummy. please take your head out of your ass. you come in and shit all over this artist and call ME a 5 year old? try listening to video without watching it, if her expression really bothers you that much.

  • @tritoneblues33 Don't even try to act like a big man. I never "shit on" this piece of work. I never said it wasn't good, I never implied it, I never said that it was weird. Get off your high horse and stop correcting people that you have no right to be correcting. If my comments bother you so much, don't pay attention to them.

  • @kioskia1 lolno

  • @kioskia1 are you stupid? i think so!

  • Wow. Beautiful.

  • This isn't the 'frog' or throat singing. That's another method of vocalization known in Tuva as kargyra (I think)

  • soooo creeepy XD

  • That must be really really hard to do

  • She has redefined the word pretentious.

  • wth is she doing with her hands?

  • @ForzaAquila I think that maybe she can mentally see the sounds floating around in the air, and touching them as she goes, helps her hit the notes and hold the right frame of mind. Kind of like remembering a phone # by dailing in the air w/ your fingers as you imagine the keypad there.

cool if it's true. She singing with everything she's got.

  • @ForzaAquila sculping the air to make the sound fit

  • sculping the air for the sound to fit

  • So beautiful!

  • Can i find it in her cd's ?? it's amazing !

  • If anyone knows the great song "what deers may come" by the band estradasphere: the first minutes almost sound the same.

  • Not only is her voice beautiful but she is very pretty. :)

  • incredible!!! I want to hear more! I'm going to learn this...

  • se ela tivesse um cabelinho maior seria gata

  • Google search, "crash course on khoomie"!

  • love it :-)

  • Was all of that sound coming from her? It sounds like bagpipes that lost their way... Very interesting though.....

  • throat singing is human in tune with nature-

  • Is she a Geisha??

She remembers to the great Asia form.

    I love it.

  • If she has had cancer, I wish her well!

  • that was actually REALLY nice!!!! I've just seen the possibilities of this kind of singing, why, thanks!!!!

  • im so happy to see a woman throatsinging! traditional woman were told that if they throatsing, they wont be able to have kids. i´ve also heared about "women will loose their boobs if they throatsing"

  • @Splinta013 Really? Well, if that's true, then send them to me. I'll fix them up with DDs salines to replace what they lost and they can sing their awesome tunes for me all day long (preferably naked)!

  • Wow! Nice blend of gregorian chant and tuvan overtone singing - mesmerizing result

  • @gasgas2001:hey you´ll find her on facebook...and have a look on her website...

  • fantastic singer, hope she will soon publish some CDs of her performances

  • Something I've noticed in overtone singing: the overtones always outline a major-minor seven chord...

  • @Tibbershet In part, the "7" is a little bit flat however... just to clarify for anyone reading the classical term "major-minor seven" chords is what jazz refers to as "7" or dominant 7. Some of the notes make up what is basically this chord. In order, the naturally occurring overtone series is: 1 1 5 .1 .3 .5 .b7 1 2 3 #4 etc etc after that point they aren't close enough to our intonation to name. This is true of many instruments, check it out on wikipedia

  • wtf

  • Which drug is that? I want it, too.

  • Holy what... she is absolutely amazing.

  • @katcummings. Because everyone are ignorent . To know art of other cultures is first of all to be willing to distance yourself from prejudice towards cultures other than the one you've been born into...

  • Fantastic :)

  • BÄH!

  • this at least sounds a heck of alot better then that guy in germany? or where ever.

  • why do white folks who do overtone singing always wave their arms around?

  • @Khalilullah They are describing an auto part that they need.

  • @UpcomingJedi hahahaaaaaa good one

  • @Khalilullah I´ve seen plenty who don't. But to offer a cultural explanation: europeans communicate with gestures more than do mongolians? Or.. Mongolians are usually also playing whats-the-name-of-that-instrument which inhibits them from gesturing?

  • @Khalilullah That's how they dance.

  • sesin güzelmiş bıyıklı.fazla teatrale vurma işi.hadi bakiyim devam et.

  • @pasifagresifadam evet aynen katiliyorum

  • Such energy. Beautiful : )

    Peace

  • I believe that this is the most beautiful recorded example of this art publicly available, not to mention free.

,schliisel. so sorry you were caught up in this silly free for all of cynicism. She is a big star on my Facebook page, and have even started a local competition amongst folks out here in the wild west to see if anyone had the skills and dedication to come close to her ability. Also, sorry that the text on my iPhone is so SMALL I thought you user name was Schiesel! Yikes.

  • Alright,no problem.I wondered anyway how you could not getting her excellence while apparently being an overtone fan yourself.Btw,wouldn't it be great if you uploaded a video of your contest winner here, maybe as a video response? As like "Overtone wild western style"

  • The right way to sing.

  • I overtone sing... there is some viral video of me out, but actually I am looking for lessons. Does anyone know where or if this beautiful lady teaches? Does she speak any english? Can she do a web cam class?

  • if you look closely you can see she has a faint moustache

  • Indeed. I grabbed it and zoomed up close. It's not shadows. She needs a bleach for that lip. Russian. In Germany. It gets a lot worse.

  • Well,Mr President/CEO/General Manager, college education doesn't come hand in hand with intelligent commenting, does it?The only thing getting worse are your snobbish comments. Amazing, how you (general) managed to make a complete fool of yourself in just 5 lines. Congratulations

  • she's great. but i hate the way she moves. so goddamn hippie..

  • I wondered about this. I stopped the video and just stripped the audio off and played with her as a still pic. This was worse, in my opinion. Trippy hippy in Germany. Her day job is probably working is a factory making tin cans or something. Her 15 minutes.

  • @oursunking Do some research. She is regarded by many reputed artists as being one of ,if not the best female overtone singer. These 15 minutes are going to last quite some time,I guess

  • This is so ridiculously high and amazing that it almost doesn't sound possible!!! Incredible!

  • wow she is absolutely amazing.... I need her...

  • She is very very good! A genious thing is to have some musical instruments doing the same note as the fundamental, so you can hear only the overtones. This gives a very "magical" and mesmerizing effect.

    5 stars!

  • wow so amazing. she's so good and the overtones are so loud and clear. it sounds really stupid when I try to do this.

  • Wow!!! Her Overtones are outstanding!!!

  • So lovely! Oh, the sound is just beautiful.

  • HOW!?!?!

This form of singing is so beautiful, why doesn't everyone know about it?!??!

  • It is unassuming, so people overlook it. When you are constantly bombarded by fit-inducing MTV neon graphics and white-noise over-compressed hip-hop and pop, subtle things escape your notice.

The other reason is that it sounds out of tune to Western ears. It's fine in isolation, but try and do this along to a piano or guitar accompaniment and it sounds very definitely out of tune.

  • @katcummings I do not know. But it is rather easy to do when you get it down. Takes time with practice to get really good. ive been doing it for about a year. im decent but can only seem to single beautifully when I smoke some hashish. If you like to learn throat singing look up tuvan throat singing tutorial on google. Tuvan has various throat singing techniques but will teach overtones

  • @katcummings Because people are too caught up in catchy, one-night-stand pop music these days. . .

  • @katcummings It is not so unknown, but certanly deserves more attention

  • @katcummings Because most people dislike the new-age-crap that comes with it in the western world. What a pity...

  • @Vodkametalhead

I think,it just sounds f***ing weird to mainstream orientated ears.

  • @Vodkametalhead Loved your comment, 100 % agree!

  • @katcummings

cause its buddhism/mongol based wich hasnt a big lobby in western countrys.

I do it for 20 years now, learned it via medition.

  • i was looking up guitar overtone and this pooped on me what this ?

  • It is "throat singing", also commonly known as "awesome".

  • haha cool thanks never seen or heard of it

  • also as "friken amazing!!!"

  • isn't throat singing something completely else? much deeper and lower, although it does have the whistle to it?

apart from the whistle i can't really see any similarities between throat singing and this (overtone).

  • Theyre different things but sometimes associated with each other. Overtone singing is using the natural acoustics in your voice to produce different usually high pitched notes at the same time ie Overtones. Throat singing is a method of singing that sounds more glottal and deep but is quite resonant. Many artists switch between the two which is where the confusion occurs. Search around and you'll find the difference.

  • I know that:P I've been watching these kind off video's for over two years now, so i thought you were being confused and labelled this throat singing, which I thought was wrong

  • @henrebotha There's actually a difference.

  • @henrebotha actually, this is Western overtone singing. Throat singing is a more common name for Eastern overtone singing. There are 3 types to it: khoomii, sygyt, and kargyrra (spellings vary).

There are tons of videos here showing differences between these styles.

  • @henrebotha well... throat singing involves three sounds at once. the guttural sound like growling is the throat.

  • @henrebotha No it's not. She isn't using her false chords, so it is just overtone singing.

  • @henrebotha Throat singing and overtone singing are different styles of singing. Yes, they both create overtones but in throat singing, the fundamental tone is created in a different way.

  • wait nvm now that i watch it again i realized the low drone isnt her haha.

  • that low drone was coming out of her? jesus christ, that just pushes me to keep at throat singing.

  • awesome voice, awesome dress!

  • Wish I could hear her voice more. :-/

  • tears in my eyes

  • omg what a dress i love it

  • absolutely incredible... i still can't imagine that is possible with voice..

  • it's fairly simple. air passes from the lungs, through the throat, into the mouth, out the lips. that's how we make sound. so a drone note is produced in your voice box, the first sound-producing chamber, the mouth is the next chamber capable of producing a note. this is done by folding the tongue into various positions to create a whistle. that's overtone singing in a nutshell.

  • @intrepgun Well, not exactly. Although the tones sound like a whistle, they are actually produced by varying the size/shape of several parts of the airway between the larynx and lips. These shaped cavities cause a resonance with one of the various overtones of the fundamental tone produces by the larynx. Resonance causes amplification of the overtone, and a second (or more) note results. That's what was taught to me anyway. Wish I could do it!

  • This was in reply to a response indicating that the overtones were the result of the singer whistling while singing. "...this is done by folding the tongue into various positions to create a whistle."

  • What the...?!

  • If there is any existence such as a god, it dwells in her throat. And I just love her hair, by the way. Everything so delicate...

  • I must have heard a 1000 throat singers and everytime its just still as good as the first time I heard it. I love your work lady!!!

  • absolutely awe inspiring.

  • nobody should be put in the fucking jail for nobodys fucking safety....

you idiot, you just don't like anything other than the one or two things you can understand

  • huh?

  • She ist my aunt

  • huh?

  • Great throat singing. The things what makes peace in soul allways great.

  • Who cares.

  • huh?

  • this sound like cleaned up throat singing. it's overtone singing without the growliness.

  • What's wrong with her hair? I think she looks fine!

  • I'll have to agree with you there. The short hair shows off an interesting hairline, and her bone structure lends itself to the short "pixie" hair. Not many can pull it off, but she certainly does.

And her singing is extremely interesting.

  • UNBELIEEEVABLE!!!! Just great... perfect overtones... thumbup

  • Is she really producing those whistling sounds?

  • Yup. Most of the times I've seen it, it was done by men, though.

Look up Tuvan Throat-singing, sygyt especially if you like the whistling. :)

  • she with her hands does what she wants,mister...

  • pretty decent singing, but that hand movement is some pretentious shit.

  • exactly

  • I accidentally gave you a thumbs up. Was meant to be down :P I assume she's meditating or something (looks like it). So if doing that helps her to concentrate on her movements & stop thinking then why not? Meditation is much easier if you're doing something like that. (well, for some people anyway)

  • I meant to give you a thumbs-down and I did...guess my mouse accuracy and recognition of human hand positions are up to snuff.

  • awesome

  • it seems to be a reccuring theme throughout non traditional throatsinging videos (check rollin rachele on youtube)

  • Throat singing is generally aided with visual, tribal movements of the hands and feet. It's cultural. =/

  • Not in the throat singing that I've seen.

  • So, what is this video a part of? Is there more??

  • Is the heavy base sound also her?

  • No, that is a monochord. An instrument with all strings in the same tune

  • Unbelievably beautiful!!!

  • because you fancy man and you assume, that this is one - but i must tell you that you are wrong .... - this person, i´ve been told, is surposed to be somme sort of woman .....:)

  • I'm still trying to figure out what sound she is doing.

  • Mostly

    e-i

    o-u

  • omg this is a woman not a man lolt

  • What gave that away?

  • haha idiot.. it's a woman!

  • read the title

  • You're an asshole.

  • capitan, why flaunt your idiocy, in spelling and in observation? I almost feel bad for you making yourself look so ridiculous.....

  • Gorgeous!!!

  • female you say?

  • beautiful!!!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • PLEASE TEACH ME

  • Where does she teach? That's a very impressive and pronounced khoomei overtone that I'd love to hear in person. :-)

  • in fact it's not khoomei... it is western overtone-singing, where you don't have to use as much pressure on the vocal chords as you would have to with khoomei/throatsinging :o)

  • =) Beautiful sound and robe
