Not for nothin but...thats not a cam issue or a tune issue, its a lean idle serge, common with the big blown engines...you can make it go away if you add fuel there but to eliminate it your a/f number show fat and may load up some.

I traded a non running 67 Ford galaxie 2 door post I got for $300 for a running 400hp dart that the guy was asking $2500 for. Yeah i think i came ahead, but the Galaxie finished, that guy came WAY ahead :-P No worrys though, I love my new rubber roaster :-P

@qettyz Well, for this particular engine, the cams timing is optimized for high rpms. the intake valve is open for a long period of time in order to get as much fuel in as possible, likewise with the exhaust. The result in this chnage in the camshaft timing would result in the "loopy" idle effect of the engine seeming like it revs and dies.

@yamahonkawazuki well the WRX STI is a character alright; its weakest point is top speed; but its strong points are the corners and the acceleration; actually its the best handling car I've got; along with the best acceleration; thats why 1 car is not enough for me; they each serve their own purpose; on a long haul I'd say the ZO6 or a high tuned supra; although a car I would like to own would be a high tuned Nissan sklyline R34 GTR but the stupid regulations here in california don't allow it;

@yamahonkawazuki Honestly with my FD I had to favor the Spirit R engine; although the cost for the swap is 15 grand; but its more reliable than the older rotary; and the factory output is 300 HP with more tuning capability and durability; but if you're looking to save money the LS1 is the best option; there's other options too like 2JZ GTE or RB25 DETT; but that's not my cup of tea; for me, if its a Mazda then it will run a rotary; if its a chevy; it will run a LS7; if its nissan SR20 or RB26
