I would love to see some split-screen style videos with your Protools window on one side, and you on the other, with you explaining your music production as you do it.
A second channel with Behind the Scenes would be awesome! I'm very interested in your recording process and work flow. I would love to see how you create these amazing songs and videos.
I'd be interested in what inspires you to try your more out-of-the-box, so to speak, ideas such as using walkie talkies for feedback on your vocals. Also, how much of the music do you have in your head when you're writing a song?.. Do you just have a basic mood and cadence you build off until it sounds right or do you write the whole thing over time in your head and then put the finished product on tape in just a couple takes? Does it vary? Oh, and which comes first - music or lyrics?
Somehow the music at the end gave me the thought, you and Hannah should cover/remix/do something with "pure imagination", the Willy Wonka theme, whether it be on the new channel or this one.
1) How you go about managing the video and audio recording while tracking. Do you have any organizational tricks to make your life easier when you have to create the video for the song you mixed?
2) Story behind the sound - How you went about getting a specific sound in a video including micing, mixing, etc.
Every time you post a new song on the main chanel you could have a behind the scenes, extra thingy on the second chanel where you explain what inspierd you to write the song, how you recorded it, maybe have an update and schtuff like that :)
I would like to see a walktrough on what equipment you use, how you record, what mics you use and all that kind of stuff. Do a studio walktrough. Maybe some insight on how you write songs. Just overall tips and tricks on recording, producing and writing music. Maybe even some vocal tutorials.
Hey Eike, why create a new channel just for behind the scenes videos? Why not just create a separate playlist with these videos in, and just push them out to the subscribers you already have? Secondly, if you were to do these videos, I'd like you to talk about your studio; the instruments that you use and the techniques that you favour using in recording and filming your music. Maybe you could discuss the inspirations behind your music and distinct image, and the creative process you undergo.
@Jawshey Thanks a lot! But my name's not Codey but Eike ;-)
Anyway: Some people are only interested in my music and probably will get annoyed by vlogs and stuff in their subscriptions box. So a second channel for stuff like that is the way to go!
@einAstronaut Sorry Eike! I have no idea why I wrote Codey, I realised straight after I posted that that I put it in, there was something on TV that said it when I was meant to write your name. Sorry again. >.<
Anyway, I have two reasons for my earlier solution The first is that it allows everything to do with your music stays in one consistent place and is easier to find. The second is to do about being able to explore new ways to connect with your existing audience. PhillyD did a video called 'YouTube Partner Pet Peeve' which is probably not totally relevant to this, but just voices a concern of having too many channels that could distract from your main efforts.
I'd like to see how you record, mix and master your stuff :)
