Case tractors are preferred for Super Stock because, they generally offer more space under the hood, space that can be consumed by larger engines, and multiple turbo chargers - items that are illegal in Pro Stock.

The BANG was unburnt fuel residue reaching its flash point and suddenly combusting in the exhaust manifold - a by-product of the engine being starved of oxygen toward the end of the run because of a decrease in rpm's due to the increasing weight, resulting in less turbo boost.
