  • @Jaket2000 Yes sir, it went from N/A L28E to full Turbo L28ET swap, it's a popular swap among all Z owners mostly on older Z's just for the turbo engine swap.

  • So you turned an 81 to an 83 ZX?

  • @themasscare I think it's a MSA type II airdam there pretty rare mine was a copy of the real thing, it came out of a donor car I bought also 2 years ago.

  • wheres the airdam from?

  • @oskrnippon gracias, no para nada toda falta hecharle mas mechanica la cabeza se le jodio las valvulas.

  • De lujo tu nave bro, no has sacado tiempos en el 1/4 de milla?

  • @ichoy408 Ok the turbo plate says this, AiResearch T3/T04e 57 trim .63 A/R, it's been rebuild and in stock boost it kicks in hard.

  • @ichoy408 The turbo was in the car I took the motor out from, all I know it's a AiReasearch T3/TO4E I tried to look for specs on it but would need to do a deeper search. I know the turbo is the same company as the stock turbo so don't know if the company is still in service.

  • also the specs on the turbo.

  • how much was the turbo and where did you purchase from, looking to throw one in my 79

  • @colorgard Mines a T3/TO4E AiResearch turbo which is not the stock T3 turbo but it's from the same brand works real well almost no lag and kicks is hard.

  • Yeah the air reasearch turbo is stock for the l28et and I blew mine up cost to much to build l28et so im swappin mine out for a rb26dett rite now lol mines a 83 with all options and I love my z

  • @84ion thanks!

  • like it!!

  • abc0was0here Yep here in Medford, I wasn't gonna post the video cuz of the quality and some parts I messed up on as you can here me lol, but I said what the hell.

  • I like the video man, I didnt know you were located in oregon as well.

  • @iexploderacoons I still have my old motor laying around at my friends shop that I'm selling with the 5 speed transmission.

  • @iexploderacoons No i got rid of it last year, someone picked it up for free i basically stripped it from most of the parts, like the 2 doors, the hatch door, the tail lights, some interior that was in it and cut out a piece of metal out it that i needed where my car has rust in.

  • @Mick280zx *I would do a swap

  • @Mick280zx haha yeah I know I wouldn't a swap but I really like the L28's if I ever do a swap it won't be no V8, RB or SR just something I haven't seen in a 280zx just yet.

  • Nice vid and car mate. i good to see someone that has not put a the same old v8 or a RB/SR into a z.

  • @whitestang65 Thanks, I was planning on doing a blowthrew system on mine but I'm going a different route now I still have to rebuild my motor and head before I do anything major in performance. The 289 is a great motor it should be hard to figure out the blowthrew.

  • sweet lookin car man, looks great. i always wanted to turbo my 289 in the mustang lol, blowthrough carb and all that. btw ........Ford Owners Recommend Datsun haha

  • The air dam came off my other 280zx donor car, it's super rare I wanna say MSA made it but not 100% sure, it is a JDM product, I know it's been long discontinued for a while you can also find another guy on here that has it too search slownrusty.

  • It runs way better now I never had fuel pump problems but yeah z31 ecu is way better than stock drives more smooth but I need a intercooler, bigger injectors, and Nistune.

  • Make sure your fuel pump is getting voltage during start. I've done the same conversion on my 79 and I had to add a wire to the back of the ignition switch to send power to the ECU during start. Before that, I had wired the fuel pump relay to "Key-On" for simplicity, but during start the ECU must give it voltage. I did the z31 MAF swap also. Good improvement, Now using Nistune for tunability....

  • Thanks.

  • Good looking car...reminds me of a gold version of my car!

  • Yeah I'm working on that, I already got a nice NPR ready to go in just need to get the pipping which I'm gonna do myself.

  • for a cell phone video its pretty good dude. nice zx man, get rid of that j pipe and intercool this brick!!

  • sorry for the crappy quality i did on my raunchy iphone, i'ma redo this video, i don't like it.
