  • Geez, dare I ask how many have died on that road?

  • @AsheeAshee

    Sheep or midges. ?

  • :) You obviously did not buy the T shirt/towel that tells you how lambs learn to be a menace to motorists! I have two and they are just so funny, and so true.

  • No, I did not buy the T-shirt, but I nearly got a front mudguard "sticker"...LOL.

I did buy a short pamphlet about midges however - worth every penny ;-)

  • Wow a pamphlet on midges ! One would be a millionaire if you found a really effective way of keeping them at bay. There again if there were not the midges, and rain everyone would like to live there and Applecross would loose all that is magical about it.

  • Yee gods, lads what are you lot on. Whatever it is, please take a little less...wink.

Sounds like if I'm on those roads at the same time, I'll be trying a bit more to get away...Or at least get to the bar before it shuts, ie. just before they see you arriving..lol..

Mind you the Strath Carron hotel is a good biker bar.

    They'd stay open.

  • Hey billfinger. I too know someone form bingley. They can often be seen cruising around the lanes in their reasonably priced family car...or goosestepping on the alter. Some strange ritual from way back when it was illegal to show your affection towards suspicious sausage type items. Lips and arse mate.... No meat in that one !!!!

  • hey baggyR1,ive seen that car ,boy is it average,so average it blended into cow. they werent having sex on the lanes, she looked as if she was buffing the crucifix with a hazel branch and he was inspecting a sample of synthetic brotwurst skins for his new deli range , too much wurst fun for me dude ,tallyho

  • Err, R1 on those roads...Overkill. ! ! !

Gsr600 rider - Don't know the number, but tell him to head for Loch Carron..

8th July - what time ...(if the wife let's me..)

Sheep are daft, and errrr, not too choosy so he'll be OK....LOL, LOL..

The midges (female) will eat anything "exposed" before it gets anywhere near a sheep..

    Not that I know.

  • Hi Weiun,we should be getting to Applecross sometime on the Monday[9/7/07]We are coming up from Bingley West Yorkshire and our first stop is at Glencoe camping then a night on the Isle of Skye then to Applecross for two nights camping [god i hope the weathers good]After that we are heading towards John o groats before the return journey via Kelso.Hope to see you.

  • hi jethrotull man, i have some friends in bingley, they are fanatical methodists. he is very weird probably due to his strict upbringing.his family are bavarian sausage barrons. very scary couple,he hides in the garage.they wont allow dogs cos the cat doesnt like them.i can never get him to the pub as they have a strict diary system.ask him to go anywhere and he will say "i dont know what i am doing yet" which means the diary says no. say hi if you see them.

  • Im going up to Applecross this year and im going up with a group of mates, one whos just passed his test and he`ll find it too hard going, the other ones on an R1 and i think he might struggle too.The fourth and final fat gits on a Gsr600 and his bike wont pull his weight.Does anyone know the telephone number of the local store and pub as he will eat everything going and then some.Oh yes this guy will knob anything going so lock up you daughters and hide the sheep..

  • excellent video, me and some pals....Dibble....Sausage Breath....and Greenhorn Jordan, are touring on 8th July 2007. Ive been before, a pal has a place at fernbeg...i remember the gravel well...and the sheep....the less said the better me thinks....CHAAAAMMMONNNN MO FO !!!

  • super video..me and a mate are going up there with a german friend and a japanese friend . the shlingers already moaning so can you iron the hills out and make things cheaper for the tight foreign git . look out for the jap sniper on the blue bandit 650 with a renthal bar pad and leathers pants . and also the smell of sausage wafting through the glens. bodacious Dawwg

  • Great video. In 1995 my wife and I stayed in a cottage in Fearnmore overlooking Loch Torridon. We remember vividly the drive to Applecross to dine at the Inn, as well as the drive to Shieldaig to dine at a pub. The drive you photographed is just as we remembered, except we drove much slower in our rental (and we were slowed down by cattle near Ardheslaig, as well as sheep). Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

  • Thanks for putting this on. Doubt I will do it on my Motorbike, even though I rode The Trolls Pass in Norway last year (See Trolls Pass) Well worth planning to stop in Appelcross, try the wooden wigwams at the campsite.

  • Looks like something from a PEUGEOT advert.

The views from the top of this unbelivable road, Loch Kischorn and across to Skye are breathtaking. Like the drive, its not for the faint hearted.

  • Thanks it was fun as well.

Glad I survived the gravel though..and the sheep..

  • cool
