Can someone please comment on using this camera for snorkeling? 10 feet is impressive, yet, I'm sure I would like to go deeper and I'm worried if I get this camera I'll be too preoccupied about damaging it while I'm snorkeling by going a lil' too deep... thanks :) The Pentax W90 can go 20 feet but isn't nearly as nice as the Sony
I bought this camera. It's quite something and I've owned a LOT of cameras. It's waterproof but doesn't compromise to be that other than price. Also, it's fast compared to cheaper compact cameras which frustrate the hell out of me. Definitely have a go on one. I'm very impressed. Waterproof is useful because you can just chuck it in your pocket and not worry about rain. Also, a good holiday cam on the beach.
@Steelheart8280 Not sure about hours/shots but I understand this camera is on the lower end of battery life BUT not so that it doesn't make it a perfectly viable camera for most people. I took it on holiday and found no problems taking many 10s of photos and many videos each day. There are reviews online with more detail.
What do the rubber waterproof seals look like? Does it look like something you could replace on your own? I am trying to compare this to the Lumix TS2 which has a terrible seal design.
I bought the TX5 primarily to shoot video during an offshore sailing race. I knew my old video cam would never survive the experience and hoped for the best with the TX5. This camera is SPECTACULAR. The touch screen is very intuitive and works with gloves. After two days salt water exposure, I rinsed it out in warm water and its ready for more adventures. Shot entirely with the TX5, see my Youtube video 'Cool Change Races Swiftsure'.
@markdartist Great video there mate. I am dissapointed with the video quality in the full 1080p though. Did you record it in full HD or upload it in full HD? If you did it doesnt look that good to be honest. Its quite pixelated. :( Shame because I was really eyeing this up.
@simon44 Good eye! New camera, new Win7 PC and new version of Premier Elements 8 added up to first video frustration! Biggest problem was Premier 8 can’t read the video files, but windows movie maker can and I inadvertently converted some raw 720p video into 480p. I will do better on my next video and still love the TX5.
Does anybody know what color the camera is? I'm planning to buy this model, but don't know what color to get. I already own a black, silver, and white Sony/ Samsung digital camera, so I want to try something new. =)
take this baby 100ft underwater and see what happens hehehe

Would've liked a better movie mode (stereo/1080p/60fps) but other than that this is THE perfect digital camera.
