thanks benny for you videos.. im going to china to study for one month.. and don't know a lick of chinese.. I'm so excited.. i'm going to practice your video religously..
I learned it as "Ni hao wo jian Ying Ying (my chinese name). Wo shi di wu nian ji de xiao xue shung." In English that is "Hello. My name is Ying Ying. I am in 5th grade."
Hey benny your videos are very helpful! I`ve been learning chinese for 2 years, I`m going to travel to Shanghai on october 27th...谢谢!我不得不练习很多因为我要是最好的普通话学生!:-) lol I need to practice more cuz I`ve forgotten a lot of things!... tks again bye benny
hey benny ... i am from the UAE but i cant pronounce the ... "qiu chang" or "a la bo lian he qiu chang guo" or "a lian qiu" ??
i just started to learn chinese .. i even dont know which one is mandarian? ..cause i really want to learn mandarian chinese ..any help please ^^ thanks in advance
Benny is a typical shanghai guy. 'coz i've found that most of guys there cannot pronounce 'ng'as well. like here, CHU SHENG, they say it like CHU SHEN. no offense
Confusing the -n and ng finals is fairly common in southern Mandarin. I always remember a lot of Shanghai Mandarin speakers pronounce 来 lái to sound like léi - at least older speakers tend to. Perhaps that's no longer common among younger speakers. What do you think, Benny?

PolyglotNZ 4 years ago
你好,我在出生在上海强调的是"地点",我在上海出生了强调的是"出生"这个动作。我们很少会说"我在上海出生了"。
谢谢你
