  • Devo don't know

  • This is freakin Awesome. Always loved this cover but now It is has been brought to another level. Bless you Human Sexual Response.

  • I saw HSR in Roberts Hall at Rhode Island College way back in the late 70's. They were a great band to see live.

  • 1980 (?) in the M.U.B Pub at UNH. They performed in Dr. Denton pajamas.......

  • Larry Bangor ruled, but the band was really that guitar player Rich Gilbert.

  • I lived with them in Dorchester in April and May of 1981. They were really cool. I wish I got to know them better. Does anyone know where they are now?

  • uhh lol?

  • Saw them at Harpo's in Newport RI 1982 or "84 not sure

  • i was looking for this album. cool

  • yes put all their shit up

  • Center Stage EAST PROVIDENCE, RI, w/Hi Beams 1982

  • @RanetkiFan Boston University Student Union, October 1980...the 2nd week of my freshman year...after this show, life became very weird...and remained that way...permanently.

  • @arkady714 LOL GOOD FOR U!

  • memories!! my friends and I followed them around new england. best time for music!

  • is that Rolf on bass?

  • Gotta love an 'all nurse band!' "Land of the glass pine cones" always blows me away.

  • Perfectly weird :-)

  • I love Human Sexual Response - 80's Boston baby in the house!

  • Boston in the early '80s. No, place on earth like it.

  • @Arkady63 : AMEN!!!!

  • Damn, this is strange.

  • so how many consecutive years of total ass kicking rock and roll did the core of this group make? By my count 10-12 years, including the Zulus up until when Gilbert switches from Strat to Thunderbird (or was that Explorer?). Bangor, Gilbert ,Travis, and Mac+Cortese are right after Zep for me.

  • those man are wearing dresses!

  • WAT THE FUCK THATS NOT RIGHT

  • The guy on the far right (who has the first close up of the video and I think is Dini Lamont) went on to become a bartender at Spit and served me many a beer and GTXL.

As a band, they provided lots of fun for college students in the early 80s: they were witty, creative, surprising, and, best of all for a band, "they had a beat and you could dance to it".

  • And i was a barback for many years at SPIT in Boston!

  • Todd Rundgren did this cover on his A Wizard a true star album. He change the structure into a minor key format with a 7/8 feel to it.I seen HSR at the channel in boston years ago . I could see Tribe and Till Tuesday in my mind also.

  • Yeah Todd Rundgren Rocks!

  • Boston's new wave of the late '70s - early '80s. There wasn't a music scene like it in the world.

    Thank you for the posting.

  • If anyone's interested in seeing the rest of the HSR video from Channel 68, let me know, and I can upload them to Rapidshare.

  • Please! Do you really have more?

  • @workjobb you still there ? did you do it ?

  • musty chiffon know's how to run a b&b.

  • "COOL JERK" is a cover-version of a song from the british freakbeatband "THE CREATION". it was an single A-side from 1967-the CREATION are worth listen too-not only their best-known hit "Painterman" which is one of the badder songs of them -there are a lot more to discover-HSR is one my favourite 80s bands and

waiting to be re-discovered again!thank you for postinf the video

  • dude, "cool jerk" is by the capitols... old soul tune....

  • that is new for me-I thank you for this information- then the CREATION DID ANOTHER COVER-VERSION of this song-but don´t call me dude you arrogant blockhead

  • for me HSR is one of the best 80s band and very underrated too-the lp "in a roman mood" is fantastic!!!

it´s a shame that they split after having recorded only 2 lps-Fig. 14 + in a roman mood...

in a roman mood is still one of my favourite records.

  • From a blog on Frank Stamm's myspace page:

"It's odd how some bands disappear from history and others go on to become generally regarded as some of history's best. Back in the early 80's, in the time when New Wave was big and CDs were only starting to replace the LP, the band Human Sexual Response really caught my attention. I bought their second LP ("In a Roman Mood") and was quite impressed. I feel it measured up to the best product of the age, which was quite good."

  • Wow, thanks for the memories...I'm wishing, though that someone out there had some footage of the Zulus - the band that came out of HSR in the mid 80's - quite a different sound, absolutley great rock band, w/Rich Gilbert really opening up on guitar...please if anybody's got something, can we see it?

  • used to see them all the time at CENTER STAGE in East Providence RI. One of the great ones!!! I want to be Jackie Onansis!!!

  • I agree. I want to be Jackie O.

I think "Land of the glass pinecones" was their best. IMO

  • Larry Bangor's still one of my all-time favorite singers.

  • get out of here u nosey little pervert or im going to slap u silly

  • OMG I LOVE THIS BAND!!! I never saw them dress in nurses outfits, tho. Such a cool video. I do remember seeing them on LIVE TV when they played "Butt Fuck"! For some reason they were never invited back to that show... I really miss that band. They were GREAT. Thanks for posting this.

  • why did I hate them then and now I love them? drugs adled my brain

thanks for all these great Boston 80's rock band vids!

    I'd be happy

    to be Jackie.....

  • Dini Lamot looks so hot in a nurses outfit

  • my freinds dad was the drum player

  • been a fan for over 20 years & thats the 1st time I've seen them
