mine would lose power too, I took it off the surge protector straight into the wall and it works fine, just have to remember to unplug it. it is more than 6 years old proform I only paid like 500 for it. so I am guessing it is getting old, but didn't think about the belt friction, how do you fix that?
hi im jr, treadmill technician, i know that kind of problem, you have the same problem to my client,, the problem is the motor. you need to replace it or rewind it,.
You will soon have the same issue again. You need a dedicated line 20amp circuit or at least 15amp. Dedicated meaning nothing else on that circuit. Also lube you walking belt every 300 to 400 miles or once a year with manufactures lube only. Visit the site below to email me with any questions.
I had the engineer round in the end. He replaced the control board and motor under warranty. He suspected the control board mainly. Said it was probably due to the cold on the control board, then when being used, heating up quickly. His advise was to (when it's cold - winter cold) gently warm the front of the treadmill with a fan heater (say 10 minutes) before using it.

How old is the treadmill? You may need to replace the belt. Worn belts create friction.
