@kingpoopdongle 808s have been in Hip Hop pretty much since its conception, so has synth bass. It's not what you use but how you use it which determines good production. You can even make some sweet shit out of Autotune if you find new and interesting ways to use it. Just sucks that everyone's settled for one method. Johnny Juliano ain't shit but you put 808s, synth bass, even Autotune in the hands of Premier or Pete Rock, and you KNOW they'll cook up something tasty because they're innovators!
