man alive sen this live more than a few times just sayn on the gig seen toh or sod the kids of the cocacola nation....marry that up with the likes of arcadefire hey let the music play£ baz white£
iwas at the zig zag club in westborne park when this was made and had many great times watching t.o.h see stan last year a couple of times hes looking well and im still his mums milkman bless her
Brilliant - I saw them throughout 1981 & 82. I still remember them supporting Classix Nouveau at the Rainbow - the place emptied out after ToH left the stage! Last saw them at the Astoria, London in 1991. Can anyone tell me the cause of Nigel Prestons death in 1992?
''This party is for you and its for free if you dare''. Saw them at the legendary Glasgow Apollo in Oct '81 supporting The Clash...Hah!.Small wonder I feel disapointed with gigs these days!.
brilliant video.coolist band ever. we uses to rent a stiff comp video out just to watch this video. kirk is still going strong now in 2008.catch a spear gig near you when they are in town!
Replace Kirk's voice with Astbury (and remove sax)and this could easily be a Death Cult/early Cult song - Billy and Nigel obviously influenced the way forward for Ian.
This song is as fresh and relevant as the day it came out. Hate to say it, but the revolution is long overdue. I don't know about you but I've had enough of SUVs, plasma tvs, shopping malls, and disappearing icecaps, not to mention 6,000 ICBMs locked and loaded and ready for launch. Time to finally close the chapter of industrialization and get back to real life.
it's just that i don't have a lot of patience for petty, shallow jack-offs like you who have nothing better to do with their time than to worry whether someone posted the same message twice. get a life, that is, after you get a clue.
First time I heard this song was 'between bands' at the old punk establishment the '62 Club' in Aberdeen. I think it was actually Zounds that were playing and it was my first ever gig : ) My favourite TOH song.
The original line up are currently on tour around the UK. No idea what they're gonna look like - but I'll be there in Glasgow! This is what the 80's were really about - none of the Spandau, Duran, etc c**p
He is still Mr Brandon. About 18 months ago he asked my if I knew where the nearest post office was on Gipsy Hill London. It was surreal meeting one of your teen idols in such a mundane way.
TOH was one of my top favorite bands of the 80's due to the cool/rebel/intelligence of Kirk Brandon. And what a voice! This is the first TOH video I've ever seen--over 2 decades later! Great song! Thanks.
ToH made some great songs but this one really shines. Brill vid btw. So 80's. Love it.

Why did The Cult remove the Saxophone??? I would love to see/hear Saxophone in "She Shells Santucary", "Christians", "Firewoman" and in "Wild Flower"
Anyway, cool song.

You posted the exakt same comment - word for word - on the Westworld clip. So, basically, that makes you a spammer. Well done. :P
teaflax 4 years ago
well, perhaps it's just as relevant for the hop as it is for westworld. by the way, why don't you go fuck yourself.
neworldorder65 4 years ago
this is meant for my friend "teaflax" regarding his astute comment below.
neworldorder65 4 years ago
You're just a tad touchy for someone who has a clear conscience. And for someone claiming to a proponent of getting back to "real life".
Settle down and just stop spamming comments. Easy enough.

Saw ToH at the Ritz, Manchester in 1981 with Southern Death Cult supporting - amazing gig.
Kirk was the best live performer after Joe Strummer and Bez I've ever seen.
