@monicahummingbird The best Stone forever? Well then, it's a good thing BRIAN JONES hired him in 1962 to be in HIS new band he was going to call "The Rollin' Stones." Actually, Brian hired Mick Jagger, but Jagger wouldn't join unless Keith was part of the deal. Brian reluctantly hired both of them. While Keith was at Sidcup Art School, Brian was playing blues and brilliant slide guitar in jazz clubs around the England. He was already a name in the blues world when he formed the Stones.
@whatwouldjudydo Could be that he was kind of famous in London before Keith or Mick (Don't say famous or established because he wasn't at that time) but the truth is that he lacked vision, lacked vocal talent, lacked total songwriting talent for The Stones level, exept some sporadic riff contributions here and there, he had a weak personality and fragile ego. THE STONES WERE MICK AND KEITH period, they created all the major hits. Brian was a has been by 1968, the RS got better without him. Sorry
"Life" is an awesome book and reveals a lot. Keef seems super connected to the spiritual and to things we just don't understand. He must be a descendant of Nostradamus or something.
