A true horror classic. Listen people who gives a fuck if its at a summer camp, i cant stand it when people claim this is a "friday the 13th rip off". Summer camps are a perfect place for a slasher film.
If you think about once you watched it. There are hints through out the movie that you could figure out the ending, but if anyone can guess the ending without seeing it or being told what it is I'd be pretty amazed.

I think I know one reason why she might have killed her boyfriend even though he was nice to her. I bet she took her clothes off and he freaked out. She felt rejected and decapitated him. In her twisted mind maybe she thought he would not freak out about it.
@AyabieLover20 it was actually a mask that they made. She had to sit still while they put a mold over her face. And it was a college guy that was drunk wearing the mask. Pretty neat huh? And if you look by the waterfront before Susie and Ronnie find out about Angela's "secret", you can see the drunk dude in the back taking off his clothes getting ready for the shocking conclusion to the film.

There is a valuable lesson to be learned from this amazingly crafted cult classic, and that my friends is.... NEVER let a woman drive your speedboat with less than 20/20 vision and arms a stiff as a tree branch.
Angela is really Peter Baker, After the boating accident, The real Angela Baker died and Peter Baker was the one who survived, but you don't find that out until the end of the movie. His aunt Martha forced him to believe he was his sister Angela and take her identity. Aunt Martha had to fulfill her sick need and desire to have a little girl but she couldn't because her husband left her which is why she made Peter take Angela's identity.

The first time I've seen this movie was with my mother and brother some 24 years ago when I was 6 . That was when HBO would show horror movies on Halloween night. I watched Return of the Living Dead and that movie didn't scare me. Sleepaway Camp aired right after that, and when the movie ended, I couldn't go to sleep that night. After that, the only time I could watch that movie was if it came on in the daytime and if someone else were with me.
I first watched this when I was 8 years old(in 1993), it was really scary then and it never left me. Its so old now but when I watch it in the dark I can still get really creeped out

The actor's name is Jaye Davidson. He is not a transgendered individual nor a woman. Take a look at his list of credits and his life story. The revelation that the character of Dil in The Crying Game was a transgendered individual was indeed supposed to be a twist.
Jaye Davidson is transgendered, not necessarily full transsexual, but redo your research on him/her. He/she was originally 'discovered' as they say in a gay bar, cross dressing.

I thought this film was absolute rubbish in every way. For starters the acting was awful, secondly everytime someone was killed nobody seemed shocked. If one of your friends had been murdered you'd expect people to be shocked and say things like "I can't believe he/she's dead" etc but the next day everyone carried on mucking about and laughing as if nothing had happened. When I saw the ending I wasn't shocked at all. It was as if someone had just thought that idea up at the last second. 1/10.

last time saw this movie i was over at my sisters house staying weekend ,i had not seen sleepaway camp in years so my sister rented it for me,the movie itself isnt really scarey but that ending had me fucked up the rest of the weekend i was staying with them.its and ok movie.
Saw it at the age of 12. This movie wasn't really that good, I would say average, but the ending scared the shit out of me. Could hardly sleep for the next 2 days. Even today it's one of the creepiest scenes in film history.

i think that the originals were the best. the sequels were just kinda... they got a little out of hand. I loved the newest Friday the 13th sequel that was amazing, the one that came out Feb. 13, 2009. That was really just, wow.

I thought this film was absolute rubbish in every way. For starters the acting was awful, secondly everytime someone was killed nobody seemed shocked. If one of your friends had been murdered you'd expect people to be shocked and say things like "I can't believe he/she's dead" etc but the next day everyone carried on mucking about and laughing as if nothing had happened. When I saw the ending I wasn't shocked at all. It was as if someone had just thought that idea up at the last second. 1/10.

I saw this film years ago and the ending screwed me up for weeks. I knew what was going on, but the look on Angela's face I could never get out of my head. This movie was way before it's time. It was a horror version of 'The Crying Game'.
