  • love the animation. keep it up brother.

  • to hwaj - if u have time, tell me 5 (or more) of ur favorites songs. I am always looking for extraordinary songs to listen to and although I think I know most of them, I keep an open mind. Some of my favorites are breathless by the corrs, high noon by frankie laine, need u now by lady antebellum the wall by kansas, one from the broadway show named "a chorus line", don't stop believin by journey and last but not least, where or when by dion & the belmonts.

  • @tommyjohnsr

Good choices for your favorite songs ....Hint I only do songs that I like or had a profound effect on my life so .....as you listen to my channel ...You are hearing the Keep searching and Thanks for your interest

    hwaj5300

  • amazing contrast - this song and short shorts! this song is magnificent!

  • @tommyjohnsr I like it much better than short shorts

And yes it is quite a contrast

    hwaj5300

  • amazing contrast - this song and short shorts!

  • Super classic! :-)

  • @jasong1212

    At least in my book.....Thanks

    Hwaj5300

  • Rhe Royal Teens first releaeed "Short Shorts" in 1957 as Power 215 in 1957. Reissued the next year as ABC Paramount 9882, the terack soareed to #3 nationally. After their foillow-up single, "Harvey's Got A Girl Friend" (ABC Paramount 9945) bomed t #78, the group moved over to Capitol and released "Believe Me" (Capitol 4261). It climbed to #26 over a 15 week riun beginning October 26, 1959. After that pianist Bob Gaudio joined the Four Seasons -- a group which did reasonably well.

  • @horarwgt

    Reasonably ??????????....I'de say great

    Thanks

    Hwaj5300

  • @hwaj5300 My use of the word "reasonably" was, of course, a joke of understatement. Between 1962 and 1994, The Four Seasons racked up no less than 53 hits. They became the sixth most successful hitmakers of the '60s, when they scored four of their five #1 hits. I've interviewed Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio and the writer-producer of many of their hits, Bob Crewe. If you get the chance, catch "Jersey Boys," the smash Broadway musical based on the careers. I did and it's great!

  • @horarwgt

You never can tell.....I don't check where the comments come from ( even country)...I thought you were from a place where the seasons Were not as big as they were in the states .....SORRY

    Thanks

    Harry

  • Yes now I see what the age has to do with it Harry!!

If these kids grow up with this music in their home, there is their memory

of their mom ...Dad..Grandmother & grandfather,

Somebody Played this music in there presents!!

It is now a memory to the-ones

  • @cynthia6637

My 26 year old daughter probably know more of this stuff than most 50 Year olds But my 34 year old son rejected it and went to Heavy Metal.............Go figure !!!!

    harry

  • fun with PowerPoint......love the graphics ! - all kidding aside, this was a truly great song--very pretty lilt to the melody, like a lot of the stuff back then. My parents were 50's kids, and i'm forever grateful to them for turning me on to this music when i was a little boy.

  • @akibubba1

Glad your parents had the for sight to acquaint you with good music

  • Thank you for uploading this, i love it a lot now, only after discovering it yesterday! It's a very good doo-wop track, as all of theirs are, i'm in love right now, ain't ever been happier! This makes me real happy listening to this, thanks, keep all the good uploads going! :)

  • @MrRocknRoller95

Oh my.......When I think of all the year you didn't know this one .....Oh well you can't miss what you don't know

But now you hooked on this sound

And thank you for your kind remarks

    hwaj5300

  • Oh my God, sing about a living despite losing the one he loves. It's an okey song, sounds like one plans to keep his chin up despite the grief...anyway I wouldn't want to be in that position, who in there right mind would. I've got feelings myself and don't plan to take this one in again but I can't say I like it or dislike it,, so I can't and won't vote one way or the other. Thx4 postin'

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ

Way too profound thinking from listing to a song for me I don't put my feeling into the song or vise versa

    Thanks .Hwaj5300

  • I was only 16,and this reminds me of my first lady, thank you......

  • @dougallsdiscs

You and I are of the same era ...Hope you memories of your first lady are good ones

    And thanks for sharing

    Hwaj5300

  • there is so much amazing doo wop to be discovered on youtube!

  • @danni3091

    You got that right

    Hwaj5300

  • The piano helps make this song! Not the same without it.

  • @nursemikey

    Can't argue with that ....

    Hwaj5300

  • @nursemikey I agree the piano is great. I think this is Bob Gaudio's influence and it's similar to a later Four Season's song "Connie-O".

  • @NYDutch1968

Not too familiar with the sound of that particular Seasons song...though familar with it by name

    Thanks Hwaj5300

  • very enjoyable video and great tune

  • This song goes way back , but I had just got my first car and went to a drive in movie. It was my first date, WOW, I cant forget that one!!! Theres something about this song that hooked me way back and it still does today. GLXgrove

  • @GLXgrove

    Thanks for the comments

    Hwaj5300

  • Fantastic song. ! Fantastic video slides to go with it. What I would give to relive that era. At least we've got videos like this that people are nice enough to share.

  • @rockinrobin246

    Thank you so much

    Hwaj5300

  • The Royal Teens, probably best remembered for

the song "Short Shorts," and that's too bad. That

song is not a fair representationof their great sound.

    Thanks for sharing.

    S/F Barney

  • @BarneyUSMC

    Thanks Barney

I appreciate what you guys do.

    Hwaj5300

  • Fantastic song, well done. Why isn't music today that good?

  • @bmxshowtime

Thank you and,, I don't believe there is anything in today's sound that would even come close

    Hwaj5300

  • @hwaj5300

How luckey we were to have had this once in a lifetime music in the 50s & 60s. There will never be another era like this. So many of the kids today have re-discovered what we had back then and they truly love the songs - Yes, we had it all.

  • @bmxshowtime

    I wish there were More

    Hwaj5300

  • Great sound of the 60's, Just out of the Army tn 62, wish I could relive the late 50's.

    Hwaj5300

  • A great song, and fab group singing.

  • A classic from 1959 and probably the best Royal Teens song I know of. Don't know about elsewhere, but definitely got radio airplay in the NYC area. It's on one of the Doo Wop Box sets, I think #1.

  • Hey bluecrab2u

Just meant to be ...... Not a great amount of play in the Phila. area ...... But stood the test of time

    Thanks

    Hwaj5300

  • I'm sure i've heard this tunieee before somewhere, but where ??? Thanks for the upload. Good one.

  • @0208name

    Your welcome im sure

  • This is a great song and you've created an incredibly good video to go with it. One small tiny complaint is the first line of the song at about :06 should be "wandering" not "wondering". I especially loved the piano player in your video. Bravo!!!

  • These guys were so good, you could see a musical future.Thx for everything Royal Teens

  • what a creative presentation....i'm right back in '59!!!

Ditto of what i wrote to

    /PennimanLewisYancey

  • hwaj5300,

Thanks! This is one those of those REALLY sentimental oldies that I had never located, even though I am somewhat conversant in 50-60 music. I really thought it was D & the B's, whenever I thought about it!

    Great find!

  • Hi PennimantLewisYancey

I was so excited when I found this that if you read my comments it starts with " I FOUND IT "

That is how I felt also "great find"

  • There's always that one flame that will just never go out.

  • Nola Lee S

  • don't get me started with old flames (L.O.L.)

  • This is one of my top 5 favorite songs. I searched yard sales for years trying to find this record. I didn't buy it as a teenage. I tried to listen to this song and found out that Youtube deleted this song on the video I had in my play list. Had to do another search to find it again. Thanks for putting it up. I feel lucky to have enjoyed the late 50's and early 60's.

  • hi Hattrick1943

My pleasure and I mean that

  • Saw the Royal Teens at the Merry Barn on the river road in Boothbay Maine late 50's

  • This was a very emotional song for a young teenage guy. In the summer of 1960 my life was this song due to a girl on my block.

Great job on the YouTube art work and creativity.

The Royal Teens will live in my mind forever.

  • Still have this one on 45, I think it was around 58/59? Great Song, Thanks!

  • yeah, he's in ashton. retired and into his music again. and a grandfather a few times over.

Carann5.. & Rculver11.... you know I love you guys Keep watching

Paokforeve...You are too generous with your remarks but Thank you Sincerly

    Harry

  • Nice! Smooth, relaxing, great pictures. I really enjoyed it.

  • Very entertaining. People don't realize the time it takes to create a video like this. Most of the videos here on YouTube are just recorded off the TV so they don't really have to work on it. Loved the pictures and how you put it all together.

  • Unfairly labeled as a "one hit wonder" act. They did have a second Top 40 hit. This reached #26 on the pop charts in 1959, and was their last chart hit. This group featured, if I remember correctly, Joe Villa on lead vocals. (Villa had previously sung with the Three Friends, who'd had a hit with "Blanche" in 1956.)

  • Loved it...we all have a teenage love that's never to be forgotten, the innocence our then young hearts.

Great video and you've captured all the nuances of the song, as usual, great entertainment! Thx for uploading your work hwaj5300.
