  • Rappy roo?

  • man this looks not very old and its 1979?

  • Hanna Bar-bera genius

  • I think I'm one of the few people on planet Earth who doesn't hate Scrappy Doo.

  • Does anyone knows why Scrappy Doo is the TV trope namer for The Scrappy (unlikeable characters)?

  • AWESOME..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm not feeling the Scrappy hate. The pup kept our favoritw top dog afloat through the 80s and in repeats (via Cartoon Network and Boomerang) before that damned live-action movie was ever announce. It was either keep Scooby Doo going or have him go the outer-space route then fade away into obscurity like Josie & the Pussycats and the Partridge Family (of all tv properties!). Take your pick, nay-sayers!

  • Ugh Fuck you Scrappy! Scooby Doo was meant to be a coward and Scrappy pops out nowhere and goes "TATATATAAA PUPPY POWER! We're gonna splat him good!" Hanna Barberra you've disappointed me. The original series "Scooby Doo, Where Are You!" are the best Scooby Doo of all time.

  • classsiiic!!!! oh man the memories, just realised how much scrappy reminds me of Joe Pesci lmao!!

  • the old cartoons with some of the older movies were the best, i hated the live action movies cause they messed up big time, especially making scrappy a villain...

  • Who could not love scooby???

  • Yeah it was Option 1 right under it in cartoon database was the stand alone 1979 version so A Close Encounter With A Strange Kind (1980) was only the first as a part of the double series.

As a stand alone it started in 1979 with The Scarab Lives!.

  • First episode was A Close Encounter With A Strange Kind (1980) but that could be only the first episode of this as part of the Scooby-Doo & Richie Rich show.

It's either that or it was first broadcast in 1980 but the cartoons were produced by the company in 1979.

  • Love the intro.

  • i miss the cartoon network we have back in the 90's

  • PUPPY POWER!!!!!!

  • Anyone know where I can find this on the internet? I have the whole ''The Scooby Doo Show'' from like 1978, all the 3 seasons but I can't seem to find this one anywhere and it's from these 2 series that I have all my Scooby Doo memories from :)

  • Scrappy was the only one worth a damn.

The others always run away like pussies.

  • @sec0ndevolution Yeah well without Scooby, Scrappy'd be gag'd up in a box floatin' down a god damn river by now. LONG LIVE SCOOBY DOO, WHERE ARE YOU! SERIES

  • This was the orignal scooby doo cartoon right? OO;

  • @Chokolade2630

No, the original scooby doo cartoon was Scooby Doo Where Are You?

This was like the 3rd series.

  • I remember this cartoon! Everytime I see Scrappy Doo, all he wants to do is splat the bad guys, but his Uncle Scooby would NOT allow him to do that.

I even remembered the time Scooby and Scrappy Doo did some disco skating to a rocking rendition of Staying Alive, which really got me rocking and rolling to sing along!

Not only that, Scrappy stood up against The Blue Scareb and won!

    DANGER WOMAN

  • Scooby Doo was a great cartoon until they added Scrappy and dropped Fred, Daphne, and Velma.

  • I liked Scrappy. I can see why you'd hate him but I actually liked him. In fact, he used to be my favorite Scooby Doo character (that is until SOME people made a movie and RUINED him). Seriously!

  • Daphne "wow, i haven't seen..."

Fred "no, Daphne, look away, we all promised never to speak about him again"

*both timidly walk away from a Scrappy Doo Statue*

  • Even if you hate Scappy Doo, this opening was pretty awesome!

  • @LukeMM95 , I like Scrappy-Doo he's my favorite and your right this intro was awsome.

  • It's weird but I was watching an episode of The Scooby Doo show which was made a few years before this and I noticed that it seemed to animated differently, anyone else agree with me?

  • @BigRedUnderpants1 Probably because it had newer animation out in the time period it was made. Too bad they aren't able to impress us with the animation today. T_T

  • @trcgamer94 I know what you mean. Animation today is rubbish.

  • I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought Scrappy ruined an awesome cartoon...................he got on my friggin' NERVES!

  • @lurch321 He's like the green alien from the Flintstones.

  • do anyone have the scooby doo halloween with dracula cuz i can't find it

  • How do they make those sparkles in a cartoon?

  • Scooby dooby doo, where the f**k are you?

  • How come we don't see Scrappy Doo anymore?

  • @BigRedUnderpants1 yh i know, TV today is bullshit

  • @BigRedUnderpants1 Watch the 1st live action Scooby-Doo movie

  • @GeneralBulldog54 - Isn't he supposed to be a bad person in that film?

  • @BigRedUnderpants1 Yeah and in prison. The bad guy thing was a trip for me especially since they use the original voice.

  • I love the instrumental part from 0:16 - 0:27. This instrumental part is also in other Scooby Doo Themes. Does anyone know, where I can find a song with a long part of this instrumental Scooby theme?

  • i got all episodes :D

  • this is so sad i started watchin it at 1997s..

  • fuck

  • Oh i love this scooby intro. In fact it was my favorite version of scooby doo.

I remember this from when i was only a little kid. Aah the good old days sure bring back some great memories.

  • Scrapppy is a full of laughs.

  • 0:50 - Shaggy's taking a dump on Fred's shoe

  • 0:50 - Daphne and Velma put on their derp faces, lmao.

  • One of the best memories when Cartoon Network air this... nostalgia, ahh.

  • scrappy doo, one of the most hateable characters of all time.

  • This show is awesome.

  • I think a lot of people hated scrappy, me being one of them.

  • I HATE SCRAPPY DOO!

  • the 1st season was good but because they sticked the same story of solving mistries and they had the whole cast Fred Velma Daffney but in the 1980's it died for me they ......even Vincet Price couldn't bring me back lol.

  • @LVSWTZ , Vincent Price was a great addition to the show I was a fan of his and his movies.

  • @Astraldragon1 me too he was the master of horror. Love his voice on M.J's Thriller

  • I love how Scrappy was just tossed out a moving train. Adorable.

  • haha..good memories man..even though the show was made in 79..i grew up watching this late 90's...ahh the memories

  • @unspokenscene97 ...back when Cartoon Network was still good!

  • @unspokenscene97 same xD 90s kid forever

  • PUPPY POWER :D

  • If I was lost in a haunted house I'd rather have Scrappy Doo with me, rather than those 2 homo pussies Scooby and Shaggy. SCRAPPY DOO ROCKS!!!!

  • I noticed Scooby stopped the Scooby snacks when Scrappy came along 4 some reason didn't he?

  • I don't like what they did to Scrappy in the movie. I actually liked the little guy. :(

  • @trcgamer94 I agree with you! Making Scrappy the bad guy in the remake is just plain wrong since he was always a good guy in the animated series.

  • @christiemarie27 piccolo in the dbz series was a bad guy for most of the original dragonball and hes a good guy in dbz, sasuke in the naruto series was a good guy till the end of part 1, captain black in captain scarlet was a good guy early in the 1st episode and he was a villian for the rest of the series, jacen solo from the star wars expanded universe became a bad guy in legacy of the force

  • Bitches don't know bout my PUPPY POWER!

  • i always wondered why scrappy spoke normally and scooby didnt lol

although i should be wondering why either of them can speak lol

  • I love scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo!!!!!!!!

Thay had the best cartoons back then.

  • Its a shame, as i recall they never aired this show regulary on CN, only at random times when its a marathon or some special. Honestly i would've loved to haven seen this show more.

  • eeeeeessh i friggin love scooby doo how bliddy funny please ! ! ! classics totaly xxxxxx johnny

  • You can't fight a ghost but you can fight a mummy and a scarecrow.

  • Can't beat the golden cartoons like these. I remember back in the day late ninties when Cartoon Network would air pretty much all Scooby Doo shows from late morning to the afternoon which included this show.

  • scrappy-doo isn't in scooby-doo first frights nor the mystery begins.

  • Comment removed

  • And so the shark jump... begins!!!!

  • Scrappy doo could easily beat down obamas bitchy ass

    PUPPY POWER !

  • i have to find a freedog to train cause of all that tv, bad stuff. it made me slow on my feet, but i can catch my little self if im closw enough. u know im bab, and okay wit it

  • That's what I said! Scooby's words begin with "R" & Scrappy talks normaly.

  • Well? Tell me, RUL3!

  • @ZNKChannel Scrappy can talk more normally than scooby

  • I don't think they're related. There's lots of differances; Scrappy's brave, Scooby's a chicken. Scrappy talks normally, Scooby's words start with "R". Anyone else know any differances?

  • I have

  • I loved scooby doo but I wanted to strangle scrappy doo. Annoyed my tits off!

  • scrappy doo ruined the whole show, fuck scrappy doo

  • @kylephantom4 , Wrong Scrappy-Doo made the show better. he is my favorite character back then and still is even now yrs later as an adult. he is still my favorite out of the Scooby-Doo series.

  • The early ones were fine. But when they ditched Freddy and Velma it started to suck!

  • Agreed. It never really felt the same.

  • i'd agree. i actually liked this incarnation (the original five+ scrappy) but it was really awful when they replaced velma, daphne and fred with scrappy. they actually did that because the ratings of the show started to sink, and CBS wanted to cancel it. then scrappy entered and he actually "saved" the show from being canceled. quite interesting. but the original five is the best in my opinion.

  • I agree with you on all points. I liked these episodes a lot since th 1978 episodes left a bit to be desired in my opinion (although I still enjoyed the 1976/77 episodes). This season seemed fresh: new character and Hoyt even rescored the series. (The Nichols cues were no longer being recycled from the '69 episodes--although I LOVE that music--and they weren't using the 1978 disco-sounding music which was also used on the Superfriends but didn't work for Scooby). One correction: it was ABC.

  • @DarthIvan3

ABC, not CBS. Scooby did start his journey on CBS, which lasted until 1976. The first Scooby series to air on ABC was "The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour" on September 11, 1976.

  • @cultoftv ya but the made scrappy to fill the gap

  • i always love this show ever since i was 7yrs old ^^

  • 0:43 Owned! xD I always loved to watch this when CN had the christmas scooby doo marathon. Aah those were the good old days...everything sucks nowadays

  • Tadadadaaaa..PUPPY POWER!!

    I love Scrappy!

  • THis is so cute, the way he says "let me at them... let me at them" so adorable!!

  • Uncle Scooby? hahaha

  • lovee itttt

  • Misto :))

  • I love this show
