@JonGuitar05 It's called a locking nut, used on guitars with floating bridges. It makes sure that the strings dont go out of tune when you use the tremelo (wammy bar). Very handy :p
how did you get the track in E?this is like the only thing Ive found to play along with without dropping my guitar a half step.. and i have a lock, and i teach, so im stuck there..
you're going to have to "pitch shift", "transpose" or "time stretch" with software (ex: cubase, acid, vegas, sonar, protools, audition, audacity, guitar rig, etc.)
Thats just freaking awesome honestly, i have started listening to this band and would love to play some of their stuff do you have any kind of tips? I mean from what i'm used to playing this is pretty much a new style for me lol
the "intermidiate" level is by FAR the longest in my opinion. Just take your time, learn things correctly and you'll just make the transition over time. you won't even see it coming... it'll just happen!
Yes. I usually have to spend about 8 - 10 mins warming up and getting used to the new position, but... yeah. I play through my entire 'playlist' standing every couple of months or so.
Why the hell didn't you downtune?, it defeats the purpose of playing this song and any other song you cover, and yeah i know u have a locking trem, but seriously use a friggen allen key, are you that lazy?, good cover but you need to downtune, and if you complain about your locking trem why not just take it off for the covers....
Not really. It only messes things up if you don't set it up correctly when changing tunings. If you use the right gauge strings, keep the bridge at the right amount of tension and change the truss rod as necessary, you're not going to damage your guitar.
Hey good job man. I have a floating trem and tuning is a bitch. I have so many troubles with my bridge acting on an angle cause of changing the tuning. I fixed it somewhat but it's an annoying process
I did a cover of this song too on guitar it would be cool if you checked it :)
yeah, locking trems really make it difficult to switch tunings, and with the it being a difference of a half step it doesnt matter, you understand that hes a great guitar player and can play the song pretty much without flaw. by the way gibsons are pretty much shit.
I play so many covers and so often that it is easier for me to play one guitar in one tuning and transpose all of the songs to match me instead of stopping to retune every 10 minutes. That's all.
yeah, I know I know. I learned that section and put the tapping off till later. As I played along with the track, I just improved through the tapping and thats the pattern I kept hitting. I liked it a bit better than the track's so I kept playing it my way. Thanks!
YES!!! I AM THE 100TH PERSON TO LIKE THIS VIDEO!!!

it sounds really intense in E! and you dont have to tune everything down a frickin' half step.

You do realize that you can fuck up your guitar by changing tunings too much? Thats more than likely the reasoning he didnt down tune.
Good job on the cover by the way.

yeah man thats true it'll wear out the strings!

It doesn't do anything to the body does it? I'm a newb with a POS guitar, so it doesn't really matter too much to me. I'm just curious.
