easily the most beautiful Beatles song. only "Something" comes close. I actually can;t think of any song from any band that is anywhere near as beautiful as this.
This IS the definitave version of the song. This or the one on Naked.
While I could spend an hour or two talking about Spector's overall shoddy handling of Let It Be and the songs he actually produced well (Get Back, I Me Mine, Two of Us, Let It Be single, etc.), this was the worst of it. Such a beatiful work completely covered by an out-of-place orchestra.
No wonder Ringo chose to pull him out of the control room that day. He'd simply gone too far.
@SonofMrPeanut that's the original cover from the get back project, (as you already know...) the orchestral version is made by Phil Spector (wich f****** the song) , Paul was very angry because of Spector's editing of the song, cuz first of all, Spector did the work WITHOUT his permission and second of all it was horrible, and did not followed the rules of the get back project so yeah, this version is way better
simple yet so powerful

I dislike the way that in this movie Yoko Ono is hanging around like she's the fifth Beatle... :\

I like this version because it gives you a more true representation of the Beatles' sound. However, I think the Spector version is more dramatic.
