  • $2040 did what?

  • SUGGESTION, you need to also set ETF's something to short sell the company that doesn't co-operate. Twice the threat.

  • It's pretty amazing how much this model resembles a market of pure, true and free capitalism. We would have been on a level like this years ago if it weren't for corporate greed and our puppet governments willingness to let them ravage the planet and it's occupants to line the pockets of their share holders. This is a great example of utilizing the internet's networking ability to bring about change and to remind people that sometimes, we must vote and bring about change with our pocketbooks.

  • wouldn't seen this if it wasnt for the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and Duncan Tressell talking about it haha

  • war diaz redban rogan

  • CarrotMob am 25.06.2011 in Trier ... Einfach mal bei Google "CarrotMob Trier" eingeben :-)

  • Y'ALL ROCK!!! MAKE IT RAIN.. HELL YA!! WE HAVE TO START SOME WHERE.. THEY WILL NOTICE the more WE make NOISE.. JOIN CARROTMOB

  • yeah keep promoting consumerism. cuz that will solve the environmental problem

BUYING MORE SHIT WILL NEVER SOLVE GLOBAL WARMING.

green capitalism is just another scheme of corporations to keep idiots buying and buying and buying and buying....

  • You have the right idea, try and apply it to bigger targets though. BTW, if YOU got into LED lighting etc, then not only would both your customers and yourself profit, but you'd be helping your mission for GW too.

Why u have a middle man in there nephew?

  • The global warming crap annoys me but this is a really good idea. Keep it up.

  • Great initiative! Well done.

  • release yo delfffffffffff

  • Driving around to all those stores multiple times, printing off all that fake money, just for 22% of the profit of that one event to go to energy improvments on one store. Wow. What the fuck is with environmentalists sometimes. I wonder if they just wanna make themselves feel better or if they actually want to combat AGW.

  • Innovative, creative and smart! I love it

  • great idea guys! man I love san francisco! sillicon valley; the best ideas come from right there; google, youtube! Germany has picked up the idea, but it is still far too scarce. this thing needs to spread to really see some results!

  • Now if people would see there is safety and power in numbers. We could change the world if we all came together under a single banner.

  • You guys are awesome - well done!

  • wow now we can have 1 energy efficioent carrotmob liqour store per neighbourhood, such amazing progress, new lighbulbs! We all win! (yes, that is sarcasm... in order to get one store to improve their own lighting we have to do all that???)

  • lol

    over 9000

  • It's over 9000!!!!!

  • 3:44 ....over 9000 dollars.

  • this should be done EVERYWHERE

  • Geez jkrych. Money doesn't really grow on moneytrees and it isn't really gone once you spend it. It's about cash flow.

This is a great way to vote with your feet and dollars to make an impact. A lot of people do this by themselves. Carrotmob is just organizing it to make an immediate result to prove a point. Both to the consumer and the companies.

But it takes a lot more than carrotmob to make a real impact. The consumer needs to start thinking about every purchase by themselves.

  • so you had to spend 9200 and he only spent just over 2000 on lighting for a savings of .887 KW? that doesnt exactly sound like an investment for the future.i think we are going to run out of money before the world is a better place.

  • US national Debt: $11 trillion

    out of money

  • my point is, the store raised 9200 dollars. he only spend 2000 on lighting. i think this would be a better effort if he spent ALL the money he earned. think about it, this guy juststuck 7200 in his pocket.

  • cool idea, cool vid, cool music. keep it up!

    gx

  • ummm...we were already beat to this idea, by the corporations. you see, this may work in cali where there are people wealthy enough to open independent stores. there are only chains where i live. i think this is a cool idea, but i am unable to participate. i think that holds true for many.

  • yes. it does. unfortunately

  • for now... but we are working on a way to make it work for global brands. In the meantime, have you asked any of those chains if they're franchises? Many of them are, which means that technically, they're locally owned and have some autonomy.

  • great idea, worth copying!

  • Great idea for local activism, but difficult to achieve on a multinational level - which is where I think the largest problems lie. However, has anyone set up a Carrotmob group for diffrent regions? I'd like to see Carrotmob swarming craigslist.

  • I like this movie; think about the consequences for transport and energy. We can make these companies open their innovation instead of keeping it for themselves in order to compete, and by this we can start living from abundance, not from artificial scarcity!!

  • I think you're on to something. I'm ten toes down.

  • brilliant

  • can anyone tell me what the song at 3:10 is called?

  • sure...the song is by "Hot Chip" and it's called "And I Was A Boy From School"...it's the jam.

  • thanks!

  • Stumbled upon this, what a great idea!

  • That's such a fantastic idea. It's so simple, yet so effective! Awesome.

  • Yeah, it's a great idea, like a negative boycott or something. But you've got to be careful about the greenwash, though... and about bribes.

  • Thats a real neat idea !!!!!!!

consumers band together and only buy in participating stores within reason. If the awareness of such a project soaks into this media hypnotized society then we re onto a winner.could this be localized? might there be a join up registration process?could your agents iniate thgis in their own areas?

  • you might want to try out t. ex. facebook. do a search and it's more than possible that there is a local group already formed. if not, why not form one yourself?

  • In hope to have a carrotmob in Helsinki.

  • does anyone know what that font is? (the white texts)

  • It is Heineken for sure. Google Heineken Font will bring you to it.

  • You are a visionary thinker. Count me in.

  • Good stuff!

  • Well done, grat idea and example of the power of the mob - and 40 years after Paris 68!

  • we need some more of that revolutionary spirit!

  • Excellent. NICE work.
