  • Nice Work :)

  • AWESOME !

  • This is awesome!

I hope some big companies can see this and give you money to develop it further, and implement it in their upcoming devices..

    Big success for you mate!

  • Awesome, cheers to all creative ppl, hope u will find funds for your projects!

  • Very impressive. Here’s wishing you success!

  • Why am I watching Pedro talking about science?

  • People have already done this, it's called a mouse, and wireless mouse with IR. God bless!

  • @Ryuuken24 So youre saying you hold your mouse to your monitor? You dont see any issue with that?

  • @ripin150 Are you been retarded for the fun of it? You want to draw on a pc screen, I suggest buying a wacom monitor, holding something as big as your hand in front of your face is pretty stupid. The device should be as small as a pen, and it's not going to happen unless someone reinvent the CCD chips out there.

  • @Ryuuken24 This isnt a drawing tool, you dumbass, its a proof of concept showing controlling your computer with iron man style gestures.

  • that was "creazy"! but i like b.c.i.

  • What's up with the light glitters at the bottom of the video near the table/desk?

  • Very Cool!!Also how about integrating mouse buttons on to the cam for some one hand action.

  • keep it up ben :)

  • My god mate. Looks nice. Why won't you make a system that tracks your hand movement and works that way?

  • Where is the download link?

  • IMPLANT A CAMERA ON YOUR EYEBALL SOMEHOW.

    BAM

Or just regular eye-tracking. Either way. This is cool.

  • really nice work Ben. If I was you, I'd get a cv together for someone like Apple - they'd snap up someone like you in a heartbeat. hope you get on to even bigger things!

  • (1) Yay for Tux Paint! (I'm lead developer), and

    (2) this makes me want to hook up my Atari 8-bit's light-pen and see if it's still working right. (Of course, it requires being very close, if not touching, the screen. And an older CRT; LCDs and newer CRTs don't work :^[ )

  • Your idea is very good. I have found that browsing technology blogs, it is very common to come across good ideas. What is uncommon is finding people who then implement and demonstrate their idea in a compelling way. What you have achieved here is remarkable. I wish you luck and success advancing this project and all others you attempt. Well done.

  • Mr Wu. Well done... I hope this work brings you lots of happines.

  • Name of this song anyone?

  • This really isn't that impressive, when the pen is usable with this or hand gestures then let us know, but this is kinda like using you computer programs with a fork.

  • eh I think kinect would have been better for this

  • so where is the download link :)

  • Nice. I think, your technology is near to Apple's Light Pen, hovewer, Apple technology works with paper, instead of screen. I think, the connection of thes two technologies (Light Pen+ screen) should be a great step... And you made a small first step:-)

  • :D yeah of course, i would browse the web with my webcam #LOL

anyway nice try, but this will never be something big

  • @XareSoft How do you figure? In a couple of years it could be a pen or even your hands instead of a webcam.

  • engadget bring me here. awesome

  • Now all you have to do is create the holographic room and put a tiny HD stereoscopic camera into a pen. You have now become Tony Stark!

  • Awesome, but using this with Mobiola Web Cam would be more comfortable. Just run the app on your phone, choose WiFi and you have a wireless camera :)

  • @Burn1ngSn0wMan

Well, the linux version does support using webcam in a mobile phone. But because the webcam in my mobile is too bad, I can't get good effect. So I didn't show it in the video. I think I will show you when I have a new cell phone. :-P

  • @benwu232 Get the Galaxy s2!!

  • Amazing!

  • Great job Ben!

  • engadget...

  • Cool, is it an idea to mix some sort of technique de PS Move is using? Instead of a colored ball you could use an infrared light, so the thing you are holding still looks like a pen without a funny lightened color on it.

  • put it in a pen and im in!

this is the future of the boardroom!

  • @dandman8484

Thanks! That's what I want to do! This one should be one of the opinions of the next generation HCI, for PC, smart TV or tablet PC, etc.

  • @benwu232 i might start trying to stick a webcam into a pen thinks to you, is there any specific specs i should look for in the webcam before i chop it up
