Use your hand as the object and not the webcam. But people have done it with the kinect. we only need to improve the tracking and different movement for different functions. Continue dont give up!
@ripin150 Are you been retarded for the fun of it? You want to draw on a pc screen, I suggest buying a wacom monitor, holding something as big as your hand in front of your face is pretty stupid. The device should be as small as a pen, and it's not going to happen unless someone reinvent the CCD chips out there.
really nice work Ben. If I was you, I'd get a cv together for someone like Apple - they'd snap up someone like you in a heartbeat. hope you get on to even bigger things!
(2) this makes me want to hook up my Atari 8-bit's light-pen and see if it's still working right. (Of course, it requires being very close, if not touching, the screen. And an older CRT; LCDs and newer CRTs don't work :^[ )
Your idea is very good. I have found that browsing technology blogs, it is very common to come across good ideas. What is uncommon is finding people who then implement and demonstrate their idea in a compelling way. What you have achieved here is remarkable. I wish you luck and success advancing this project and all others you attempt. Well done.
This really isn't that impressive, when the pen is usable with this or hand gestures then let us know, but this is kinda like using you computer programs with a fork.
Nice. I think, your technology is near to Apple's Light Pen, hovewer, Apple technology works with paper, instead of screen. I think, the connection of thes two technologies (Light Pen+ screen) should be a great step... And you made a small first step:-)
Well, the linux version does support using webcam in a mobile phone. But because the webcam in my mobile is too bad, I can't get good effect. So I didn't show it in the video. I think I will show you when I have a new cell phone. :-P
Cool, is it an idea to mix some sort of technique de PS Move is using? Instead of a colored ball you could use an infrared light, so the thing you are holding still looks like a pen without a funny lightened color on it.
@benwu232 i might start trying to stick a webcam into a pen thinks to you, is there any specific specs i should look for in the webcam before i chop it up
Nice Work :)

IMPLANT A CAMERA ON YOUR EYEBALL SOMEHOW.

Or just regular eye-tracking. Either way. This is cool.

@XareSoft How do you figure? In a couple of years it could be a pen or even your hands instead of a webcam.

Now all you have to do is create the holographic room and put a tiny HD stereoscopic camera into a pen. You have now become Tony Stark!
Hooblehboi 6 months ago
Awesome, but using this with Mobiola Web Cam would be more comfortable. Just run the app on your phone, choose WiFi and you have a wireless camera :)
