Take a look at the books boys....BM the PM signed free trade, enacted the GST, developed the first series of acid rain treaties with the US, and was the first PM to make the envirnment an issue. Chretien largely carried on Mulroneys work and failed to reverse any major act introduced by the Mulroney PC's. Bottom line is Mulroney is a scumbag conservative and Chretien a scumbag liberal. Niether had the interests of the people at heart and niether deserve your respect.

Chretien did nothing to decrim weed. The senate passed a bill to decrim up to 30 grams but the house never acted. The supreme court of ontario ruled the marijuana law unconstitutional which eventually struck the law down. As a result marijuana was breifly not contraband until the US forced Chretien's government to re-criminalize it.
