The Poles in Russia were not prisoners of war. The Poles born in the returned West Russian territories were let go home. They Poles from territories occupied by Germans were interned. Russia armed, equipped and supplied the interned Poles for fighting. They also could work for money in Russia. But the most of them wanted neither to work nor to fight. They preferred to be a burden to Russian people which fought against Germans. Then Anders Army decided to go to Iran. So what is a problem?

Kudos to Wajda for summarizing the realities of Poland at that horrible time in the history of the Polish nation. Respect to the noble and honourable Polish people. Respect to Andrzej Wajda. my parents are from belarus, they tried to escape the communist jewish regime. unfortunately, they were caught by the SS nazi. and taken to nuremburg slave labor camps. my parents survived , but my two little sisters were nearly starved to death and two weeks before liberation, they were poisoned. thousands died that day. the SS put arsenic in the food and liquids.
