Important - no attack is the same. My heart attack happened so quickly, just felt ill, then a huge clammy feeling, severe back pain, Note no chest pain. I am diabetic and was told often diabetics do not feel the usual symptoms. Towards the end of the attack my jaw and head hurt. Was told my artery collapsed
I'm 22 years old and just had a heart attack.....kept playing it off like he says here.... I finally went to the hospital and died as I walked into the waiting room. Thank god they got me back but don't play with this. I now have a stint in my heart and a lot of lifestyle changes to come
i think i experienced a minor heart attack earlier today after having a smoke, my heart started to beat faster and faster. i thought i was having a panic attack, it kept getting worse and i started to loose my breath and gasp for air. after a few moments it stopped and i felt drained in my chest and limbs while my ears and anus were burning intensively. i laid down and i felt better after a while and i think tomorrow i'm going to see a doctor, it was really scary and i thought i was going to die
I Had 2 [!] One that I laid sick during, thinking I had flu. The second a week later at work, a BIG ONE. Like the actor in the film describes. I do not want to call for help next time. Last time I had help, the Medical Wizards took guesses in the hospital for three months, didn't do a fuckin bit of good for me, got me addicted to the dope they put me on and then wouldn't let me out til my mom got a lawyer 4 me. Next heart attack for me, I am going HOME. To Jesus. Fck those chemical witch doctors
Problem is, you get the very same symptoms during a panic attack. If I called 999 for a panic attack, I would be berated for wasting the paramedics' time.
@TClementsUK1 Agreed. But we should still call. Being berated or fined is better than brain damage/death!
Once after a dentist appointment I had symptoms like these as well, severe, but I put off calling because I was so sure it would pass if I just calmed down. Turns out I was in aphylactic shock, allergic to the codeine the dentist gave me... I almost died because I thought it was only a panic attack. Heh... I vomited so hard I broke all the surface blood vessels in my face.
@TClementsUK1 I seriously doubt they would berate you. I've had similar symptoms in the past and gone to A&E to get checked out. It was, as you say, a panic attack. No-one berated me, they were very professional. Truth is, they'd rather you were too careful than dead - ask any medic!
@garycalgary But it made it more understandable. I had a heart attack just recently (Nov 22) and I had some of the same symptoms he describes (demonstrates). I believe part of the drama of this ad is to truly get your attention, and it does. Sorry you took it in a bad way, because I think it's very relavent. It could very well save someones life. I hope it does.
I used to have frequent heart palpitations and I thought I was going to die, got so depressed too. I started exercising and it got less and less frequent. If anyone of you are having this problem just start exercising and eating right, it helps alot

What an effective video. Very scary! My dads friend just had a heart attack at 40, and it scared me so much that I stopped smoking, started exercising and eating healthy. The worst part is, my dads friend didn't smoke, exercised at the gym 5 days a week, and was a vegetarian. I could die of anything in the world, but I would hate for it to be a heart attack.
This video is not helpful. I think there is something wrong with my heart and it just made me more nervous and made my heart beat faster. They should think these things out more carefully.
@rtsjoe i think i know what you have and its not dangerous, should be anxiety disorder it can make heart beat faster because of the fear and make adrenaline, (i think i said) if you are yonger it should be this
and at the end we both looked at each other, n he said you are goin to the f**king dr tomoz :/ im 35,n thinking im too young to have a heart attack. im scared :/

I had a heart attack on 17th March 11. I had my first at age 42 last week. It woke me up at 3:09 am and it felt like my chest had a glowing hot baseball in it. Needed three stents. One artery was 100% blocked, and another was 95% blocked. I'm lucky to be here!
IF YOU SMOKE, YOU WILL FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH WHAT A HEART ATTACK FEELS LIKE! STOP SMOKING NOW!!! I smoked for 27 years, but quit for good last Tuesday night at 3am!
@mgm2112 While I appreciate what you're trying to say, OBESITY (and eating copious amounts of fatty, sugary junk food) cause more heart attacks than smoking. So yeah...give up smoking....but more importantly, stop eating toxic, artificial foods because they're doing JUST as much harm, if not more, than tobacco. (I'm using "you" in the general sense, this isn't directed at you personally).
as someone that has gone threw 5 heart attacks, I can say all have been different and none felt like what I thought a heart attack would feel like. @YoJimBoHugabaJoe Being in EMS and seeing true collapsed lungs, there's no way they would have made you wait for 4 hours. @traumateam2 go to my videos and you can see me with the drain in.All though my lung was fully collapsed they didnt think it had as my breathing was very controlled.I found the easier i breathed the less it hurt.Went to hospital at 2am and had drain in at around 5-6am.
Dial "999"? I'm assuming that is the equivalent to "911" here in the US. If I had an emergency and I asked someone to dial 911, I would be fucked if I was in Europe.
I had these symptoms whilst driving and was close to the hospital, so I thought I'd just drive there rather than call 999, cos it would be quicker. Then I ran into A&E, the silly bint on the desk was on the phone to her friend chatting about a holiday while I was standing there having a heart attack. Even told me to wait for her to finish her call before she took details, the fucking cunt
The same as a panic attack? I don't think so. Maybe somewhat similar with some symptoms, but not the same. And can I add that a heart attack is different to each person, meaning the symptoms are never the same. Some have a lot of symptoms and others very little. Be careful is all I say, especially if you're over 40.
I had heart attack, a mild one hmm about 5 years ago, I think. I have just been told by my GP TODAY, after my ECG came back from the Whittington Hospital. But my GP has been treating my chest problem as heartburn for the last year or so. Great. I suppose next one will kill me !
I expected to see Quentin Tarantino's name in the credits when I first watched this video. It reminds me of Reservoir Dogs. The BHF often play on our deepest fears when trying to get a message across and most people seem to think it is a good idea. But, I wonder how many people it panicked into having unnecessary angioplasty procedures.
@dean9890 You probably had a heart attack. In fact, you are probably already dead. Have you noticed how nobody has talked to you or even noticed you in the last three months?
I did suffer from VERY bad anxiety and panic attacks a few months ago as well as the intense fear of heart attacks and obese people in general. I had chostondritus which mimics the pain of a heart attack but I didn't call 911. I was alone when it happened and i called my mom about 4000 times until she answered. I'm 6'ft, 200 pounds, and 15. It scared the shit out of me. I was 220 a few months ago. This kinda reminds me of Bioshock :P Panic attacks are no joke though. They will make you screwed.
Precisely the same happened to me once... I thought I was having a heart attack and called 999... it wasn't. It was anxiety attack. However the video is very right. Those who are suffering such symptoms and don't know what it is (e.g. do not normally suffer from panic attacks) and haven't checked their heart, should indeed dial emergency IMMEDIATELLY. I wa told the same by the hospital doctors where I was taken once to later find out that I was in perfect health albeit had a panick attack.
heart attacks must be one of lifes worst ever experiences. i would hate to have one. statistically, men are at greater risk than women as we tend to eat more fat. and also when a man turns 70, the heart looses 1/4 of it's pumping power - that's a factor in women living longer than men... (be warned, men!)
@IDisasterpiece Yep. I remember thinking I was having a heart attack, called the ambulance, only to be told I was having a panic attack. Thing is though, if there is ANY confusion, even if you *think* it's a panic attack...call 999 or 000 depending on your country. The ambulance officers would rather turn up to help you through a panic attack than turn up to find you've died from a heart attack.
I've woken up from REM sleep because of chest pains. It was because of an emotional dream and relationship-related stress. - Not a heart attack at all, but man it was scary. . . I'm sure a heart attack is one of life's worst experiences
I had one and the ambulance service stood around saying stuff like "are you sure you're not just having a panic attack" and "you're only making yourself dizzy because you're breathing so fast". Then, eventually, they took my pulse...looked at each other... and took me to hospital where I had to explain to a whole new bunch of people what had happened and they said the same things...
starkersboy youre only 35 ... Its unusual at that age but at the same time ive notied how arrogant doctors and nurses can be while people just die and they burn or bury them.. Good for you you survived it.
that was so freaky. i've been having chest pains a lot lately and my left side of body hurts and back tingles. it freaks me out. i'm really unhealthy, and i keep seeing stuff on tv about heart attacks n keep thinkin God is tryin to warn me. i'm goin to the doc tomorrow for ekg.
As someone who had a heart attack (20 months ago), this is pretty accurate. I was playing soccer when I had it. Took myself out about 40 minutes in, stayed for the game, thought it was flu. People said I looked grey.
The thing I remember is, I couldn't get my shinguards off, I felt so gassed.
Oh, I was 41. The month after, the 27 year-old in the cube behind me had one. He didn't survive his (felt his playing hockey).

At 36 three years ago I had a heart attack. Its alot less painful than you think. I had a stent put in and everything.

This is totally off subject. But, you gotta love Steven Berkoff. He makes something like this that makes me actually want to sit up and listen.

Actually I was 240, now I'm 190 and trying to get to 170. Watch my new video.
kombatmaster12 1 year ago
