I clapped and cheered when these three got released. I knew they were innocent when I saw the first Paradise Lost. You could look into their eyes and see they didn't do it.

I have studied most of this evidence and I know this case. I know without a doubt that the evidence was sufficient to convict these 3. The State Supreme court, on appeal, looked at the same evidence and agreed with the verdicts.
@exhibit500 Just because they are a jury of peers doesn't mean they are competent to make a conviction, especially if they are biased. There was clear evidence of juror misconduct, and by that alone they should have requested and declared mistrial. You cannot assume that a jury is "smart" enough to do the right thing. Juries are PURPOSELY swayed by each side with careful strategic tactics. If you took some law classes, you would know this.

Go watch "The Confessions". It covers the case of the Norfolk Four which had 4 (yes 4) confessions but not a single one of them matched DNA evidence from the crime.
They eventually caught the real killer who said he committed the crime alone. He confessed immediatly while the other 4 took 9+ hours.
That cased proved that an "admission" isn't always a true admission.
Missekelly was not educated or experienced enough to fabricate a story so detailed and again, later show remorse for "bringing those kids back to Damien" or something to that effect. Echols was found out by that service road too and didn't a little girl over hear him bragging to a friend about killing them?
If they get their new trial and are again found guilty, I hope these "supporters" most of which are teens with crushes on Echol's -will finally let it be.

Secondary fiber transfer but NO DNA. These fibers were NOT directly linked to any articles of clothing owned by any of the accused. They were Similar, but fibers are not DNA. You could take the same fibers and link them as similar to half of the clothes in Wal-Mart. If I was a prosecutor, I would hate to have to prove my case by secondary fiber transfer. This whole case was fucked from the start of the crime scene investigation.
@vedder101 DNA evidence was in its infancy when these trials occurred & not much could be done at the time with the limited amount of material available due to some pretty good cleaning at crime scene which was on a muddy bank by the water. The Alfred deal is happening because DNA evidence WILL exonerate them. They are not "not guilty." They are completely innocent.

I did see that actual evidence presented to the jury, and it was all nonsense. None of it lasts the test of time as true evidence would. If they were truly guilty, science should have been finding more evidence to prove guilt, and not the other way around as was what was happening.

It is undeniable that there are so many holes in the way this case was handled. A corrupt judge, a police force who wrapped evidence around their suspects instead of the other way around, contradicting stories and witness testimonies. SOMEONE is lying. Either way, these men deserve another trial, even if it is to prove their guilt once and for all. But they never had a fair trial in the first place.

@edcjunkie 2 juries, 24 people total, sat, intently listening to the testimony & carefully weighing the evidence. They weren't sidetracked by conspiracy theories that would make even Oliver Stone blush.
I have studied most of this evidence and I know this case. I know without a doubt that the evidence was sufficient to convict these 3. The State Supreme court, on appeal, looked at the same evidence and agreed with the verdicts.
The hearing in December will end the same.

@exhibit500 Just because they are a jury of peers doesn't mean they are competent to make a conviction, especially if they are biased. There was clear evidence of juror misconduct, and by that alone they should have requested and declared mistrial. You cannot assume that a jury is "smart" enough to do the right thing. Juries are PURPOSELY swayed by each side with careful strategic tactics. If you took some law classes, you would know this.

Keep in mind, friend, all three went quietly and never fought for their lives up on that stand, Echols loving the attention and using it as his platform. If nobody would have made a rukus for them, they would have continued to have kept a low profile.

Go watch "The Confessions". It covers the case of the Norfolk Four which had 4 (yes 4) confessions but not a single one of them matched DNA evidence from the crime.
They eventually caught the real killer who said he committed the crime alone. He confessed immediatly while the other 4 took 9+ hours.
That cased proved that an "admission" isn't always a true admission.

@09Brant do you understand beyond a reasonable doubt hopefully you are never on trial and the only evidence is what betty lou said to pammy sue. wheey are guilty or not the evidence wont hold up in front of an educated jury. So if they get another trial they will be freed. whether that is right or wrong is not for a case by case basis to be analyzed. Its to protect everyone from being punished unfairly. I know not of the guilt or innocence of these three just that neither was proved.

You know, Skid Row tried to educate the world about this. In their time, which was Damien's time, people looked down upon and even blamed kids who listened to metal music for crimes and bad things happening. No DNA matches either of the 3, fibers are similar to clothing, only proving that an article of such similar clothing was in contact with the boys. Where's the prints? DNA? Murder weapon? The police investigation files include other reports of Damien Echols’ disturbing behavior in the year before the murders. For example, Joe Bartoush (cousin of Jason Baldwin) told Detective Bryn Ridge: On 10-27-92 I was at Lakeshore Trailer Park with Damien Echols when he killed a Black Great Dane. The dog was already sick and he hit the dog in the back of the head. He pulled the intestines out of the dog and started stomping the dog until blood came out of his mouth.

He was going to come back later with battery acid so that he could burn the hair and skin off of the dog’s head. He had two cat skulls, a dog skull and a rat skull that I already knew about. He kept these skulls in his bedroom at Jack Echols house in Lakeshore. He was trying to make the eyeballs of the dog he killed pop out when he was stomping. Damien had a camoflouge survival knife to cut the guts out of the dog with.

If only one of the fibers had matched, it would be entirely possible to suspect others due to the commonality of the fibers recovered. Due to the quantity of fibers recovered (that matched items from the B&E's household), I think it becomes quite clear who was involved in the murder of these three children just on the fiber evidence alone. Add in the confessions & witness testimony, failed alibis and polygraphs, ALL of the evidence in this case points DIRECTLY & ONLY to the WM3. Verdict = GUILTY

1 green cotton – E-3 Michael's blue pants

2 black polyester - E-134 knife
1 blue polyester - E-134 knife
All of these fibers were linked to Echols & Baldwin, who were both implicated in Miskelleys confession.

A spot of blood on a tee-shirt belonging to Miskelley is found to be similar to Michael Moore's blood by HLA-DQ Alpha profile. A spot of blood is discovered on a necklace seized from Echols at his arrest is similar to Steve Branch's blood by HLA-DQ Alpha profile. Miskelley confessed to the murders on at least six different occasions (three unofficial and three official) and named as participants Echols and Baldwin as participants. Sakevicius testified that a Caucasian hair recovered from Byers ligatures was "microscopically similar to known head hair samples from BALDWIN & consistent with having a common origin as the BALDWIN head hair sample." Also, a hair collected from the lower leg of one of the young victims exhibited characteristics consistent with ECHOLS hair samples. If you think a hair proves that Hobbs should be a suspect, then we should also conclude that the right people are in prison. NEW DNA ; ) is coming!

Secondary fiber transfer but NO DNA. These fibers were NOT directly linked to any articles of clothing owned by any of the accused. They were Similar, but fibers are not DNA. You could take the same fibers and link them as similar to half of the clothes in Wal-Mart. If I was a prosecutor, I would hate to have to prove my case by secondary fiber transfer. This whole case was fucked from the start of the crime scene investigation.

@vedder101 DNA evidence was in its infancy when these trials occurred & not much could be done at the time with the limited amount of material available due to some pretty good cleaning at crime scene which was on a muddy bank by the water. However, you supporters are in for quite a treat from the prosecution who now have DNA evidience in their hands that link these prisoners to their crimes conclusively.
