What I love about this, among many other things, is that the texture of all the statements and promises we make in relationships is stated so explicitly and directly, like the fact that, obviously, if we are lying, we wouldn't say we were lying -- but we wouldn't directly admit that. This sketch is almost about...the truth about truth-telling. When you make the rules or assumptions ("I could be lying there, too") so obvious, it undermines everything. And it makes it hilarious.
