Oh wow part 2. Great to see him interacting with other birds. I feel much happier now having just watched his sad beginnings. Hope u go from strength to strength little man :0)
It's great that you are caring for Shuffles when most people wouldn't bother!
Five yrs ago a budgie landed on my husband. He brought the budgie home to me. The bird was in bad shape, with a very disfiguring case of scaly face mites. The next day I took the budgie to the vet, and he got a shot of ivermectin. His beak grew back normally but his toenails never grew back. We still have "Nemo"! Due to the lack of toenails, he falls off his perch a lot! So glad that he found us!
so beautiful, once again, Annie Birdy... thank you for all of your work and love and for sharing it with us.....despite the sadness, light shines so brightly in the stories you share!....
@NicholasPiano Thankyou Nicholas! I am trying so hard to build up his strength so that he can move forward and live a much better quality of life than he currently has. He is showing some small signs of improvement though!
@phooey Thankyou Phooey :o) Shuffles has a long, uncertain and difficult journey ahead. I have no idea what the outcome is going to be, but I am doing everything I can to make it a good outcome for him ;o)
@pulvaris They are pretty arnt they :) That is my little rescue budgie Teacup, she was horribly abused and nearly died from her injuries. She is fit and well now though <3
@AnnieBirdy magnificent! I love Budgies, and also Zebra finches, and just birds in general...I've overcome the hurdles of reproduction...but I'm not confident I could nurse a damaged one back to full health, that must take a lot of time, care, attention, money and facilities...I tried to rescue a fledgling Blackbird last week..but it was really ill having fits and the likes. I called him Aquila...but he was dead by next day :'(
@AnnieBirdy I have 2 budgies of my own and they are treated like Royalty in my house. it really sickens me when pets are neglected and abused. I don't think i'd have the stomach to try and nurse a sick bird back to health, I'd be too upset if it died :( I love what you're doing
Aww. He looks so flawfy, and soft. :D
