Legal age is different in different countries and it is 16 in Iran; so anyone who commits a crime at that age receives the penalty that law of the land (which has been set up by the people) determines for that crime. What is the legal age in your country?

I can tell you that in my Country (USA) they don't publicly hang 16 year old girls in the street for fornication like they do in Iran. See because in USA a 16 year old girl having sex out of wedlock is not a crime punishable by death.
By the way, your Iranian clerical courts DO NOT answer to your Parliament or THE PEOPLE of Iran. They answer to Sharia Law & the Ayatollah Khamenie.

Legal age is different in different countries and it is 16 in Iran; so anyone who commits a crime at that age receives the penalty that law of the land (which has been set up by the people) determines for that crime. What is the legal age in your country?
PS: fornication or even murder may not be crimes in some countries but they are crimes in my culture and country.

That's not true in any sense. Iranian laws state that the legal age for marriage is 9 years old which incidentally is how old Aisha was when Mohammad(60) had sex with her. As for sex out of wedlock any female at any age is legal to publically hang.,..or stone for adultery. I have actually seen Iranian stonings, and the Ayathollahs "cast the first stone." That you said "my culture" and not "my civilization" is accurate, because truly, there is nothing civilized about Islamic culture.

wideawake123; Legal age and the age of marriage of two different things. Legal age is the age that one is considered an adult and has enough experience to differentiate between right and wrong. But different countries have other legal ages; for example in the USA the legal age is 18 but you cannot buy a drink or a pack of cigarettes until you are 21. And in some states of the USA you can marry at 13 with your parents permission. The age of marriage in the USA was actually 13 till 50 years ago

2- As for the Prophet and Aish; the prophet died when he was 63 years old and at the time he had been married to Aisha for 10-12 years therefore he could not have been 60 when he married Aisha! You do the math again.
As for the age of Aisha at the time of marriage there are about 30 different sources that say she was about 17-19 years old; and only one source says that she was nine. Judging by the fact the she had a fiancé before marrying the prophet it is likely that the guy dropped the 1.

Afghanistan and Iraq werent in chaos. Saddam and the T-ban ran very tight ships. Saddam was systematic with his genocide, using chemical weapons on his own people. He killed near a million Iraqis in his 28 year reign. The T-ban were quicker about filling mass graves, but again, their tyranny wasnt chaotic. If its your goal to express hatred of Bush, do so, but dont make the mistake of pretending you know more about the nature of this than I do, or try to make an intellectual point with emotion.

The chemical atillery barrages might have been "chaotic" to those whom the shells fell on, but they were very precisely executed by the Republican Guard under Saddam and his man "Chemical Ali". sploogersmoof in the court of law it is the accuser / prosecutor that must prove that the accused is guilty. Basically you are innocent until proven guilty. The responsibility of proving that holocaust happened is on those who claim it happened.
PS: None of the camps that were freed by the Americans and Brits are claimed to have gas chambers today despite the fact that all of them were claimed to have gas chambers at the time when liberated. Which shows us another lie.

the accuser, the prosecutor, and the accused have all said time and time again that the holocaust has happened. we present as evidence common sense and undeniable documentation. most of the camps were not extermination camps, and the ones that were were not set up until near the end of the war. although slavery kind of goes hand in hand with inhuman cruelty dont you think?

It may take me a while, but I'll try to find this in Sahih Bukhari, that is where I saw them 1st. I just had more ready access to the Tarikh today. Don't let that whole "Shiites don't believe in the Hadiths" argument enter this discussion. Since there is no other excuse for the Ayathollahs lowering the legal age for marriage to nine, but that Mohammad did it, so it must be ok. Though having more than 4 wives was only ok for Him to do, right? I know Islamic doctrine better than you think.

1- Aisha is famous for telling lies. Aisha has narrated over 2200 Hadith but only 300 of them are considered authentic by Sunni Scholars (i.e. only 15% of what she said is believed to be true!).
Prophet's marriage to Aisha was a political pact like most of his other marriages. Prophet had 13-14 wives but only two of them got pregnant (the first and the last wives) and I think it is reasonable to assume that it is unlikely that 95% of his wives were infertile women.

2- Aisha was a young girl and as we know teenage girls get pregnant easily; I doubt that Prophet ever had sex with Aisha or other wives who did not get pregnant.
By the way if prophet was into child sex why all of his wives were mature women? Some of them even in their 50s and 60s and some of his wives including Khadijeh were actually older than him.

Of over 500,000 hadith compiled only 4,000 are recognized as authentic so the 300 by Aisha make up nearly 10% of the sahih(true)sayings and traditions as compiled by Imams Bukhari and Muslim. While less than 1% of the hadith compiled from other Muslims were considered authentic, 15% of Aisha's were. So, while Muslims are famous for telling lies, Aisha was 15 times more likely to tell the truth.

You do realise that Iranian presidents also have two-year terms. Ahmadinejad can't run again in 2013 if he wins this one.
And also, the Supreme Leader is actually indirectly elected by the people. The supreme leader is appointed by the Assembly of Experts who are elected by universal suffrage. The Assembly of Experts can also sack him.
And if Ahmadinejad doesn't have real power, why does the US and Israel want to attack Iran based on his policies? Can't have it both ways buddy.
