  • It would help me immensely if Michael Thomas wore light colored pants. It is very difficult for me to distinguish between his black legs and the black backdrop.

  • LOL

  • arrrgh, hes a ballroom dancer, that explains it....

That isn't rumba, its bloody son :p (guys go google rumba, and son...you can learn what rumba actually is and you can learn what the ballroom version is...rumba is an afro cuban dance...not a ballroom dance and it looks nothing like this)

  • In fact, if you watch him, his shoulder moves before his hip, his shoulder is leading the motion

  • From what I know, cuban motion is lead from the shoulders, not the hips. the shoulders push out nd the hips follow...thats how I was shown it in cuba at least...

its certainly not derived from the hips

  • What he is saying is accurate but he is not dancing/demonstrating correct cuban motion. His feet are not turned out and he does not have any technique.

  • This is the best explanation I've seen. Thank.. I finally get it!

  • this was really helpful, thanks!

  • I have a hard time getting hip movement in the salsa. I can do the merangae!

  • I'm not sure if this is going to improve my dancing but I think you solved my slicing problem with my driver. :-)

  • Excellent demonstration of Cuban Motion. We still may not be able to do it, but your explanation is great.

  • Thanks for a great demonstration of CM. Now I get it!

  • Very good, thank you! I especially like how you showed how the hip movement works with various dances.
