  • One of he best books I have ever read is about our man Sandy. Sandy-Koufax- by Jane-Leavy

Also the movie "For the Love of the game" with Kevin Costner is an excellent Hollywood tail of what it may have all been about.

  • Could not agree more...a true artist and a gentleman. I was 10 years old in 1962, sa lerft handed little league pitcher and he remains my hero to this day. I went to sleep with the transitor radio under my pillow every game that he pitched

  • If my life depended on one game, and I could pick any pitcher in history, in their prime, to start it, Sandy Koufax is taking the mound. On two-days rest, if necessary. And I'm making dinner plans for the next evening.

  • while pitching bp in spring training for the dodgers at age 55 he was clocked at 85 mph. not too bad, sandy.

  • In a class all by himself. The greatest pitcher ever!

  • Best pitcher of all time, no steroids either

  • Hank Aaron said his curveball was "un-hittable". He called him the best pitcher he ever faced.

  • @mgwilliams1000 I think Hank had it right.Being a Giants fan,I am going to look up what Willie Mays had to say,I think it will be the same.

  • baseball isn't the way it used to be, guys like sandy are rare

  • Mantle didnt complain so u shouldnt either

  • The pitch to Mantle was considerably inside. Sandy was great though!

  • @skywoof7 hahaha 50 years later
