This might not be a great idea if you have a cat, that gets scared when you vacuum. Sometimes I am a little amazed by all these litterbox inventions. It's not like scooping is rocket science and no, the box does not stink - if you scoop it when used and wash it regurlaly

My 10 year old cat has gotten in the habit of not completely covering her business and mostly just scratches the rim of her non auto litter box. Not sure what her deal is but I'm expecting to receive a Littermaid sometime next week. Hoping it will help out.

im thinking getting this self cleaning litterbox that has sensors for automatic cleaning and I have a question -- is it too noisy? like if the cat does his business in the middle of the night? and do you need a special kind of cat sand? because i noticed the one im using now doesnt make lumps when the cat tinkles.. so im kind of curious about that... thanks in advance!

I've had several of these over the years. The first one worked fairly well but it was very loud. The two newer ones I bought several years later were quieter and had more bells and whistles but they were made cheaply and did not work well at all. I will never buy another one.

Iv'e spent over $500 on these Liittermaids & they suck! The first one was about $200 & it died in 6 months. They sent me a new one for free and it lasted less! Then I bought the multicat one cause I have 4 cats. Then I spent about $300 on it and it lasted less. They sent me another and it quit in less time also. I used the right litter and everything! I wound up getting the simple one from Walmart that uses pellets and there's no smell at all! The urine goes to the bottom on a pad and no smell!

I've bought 2 in the past 7 years for all my cats. The last one "crapped out" on me. Otherwise for $100 you get your monies worth and it is a convenience to both myself and the cat gets "reasonably clean" litter when it does its job. I am aiming to buy another one.

i think the litter robot is better because it has a cover (roof) to keep away any smell and it doesnt leave any waste behind from the cat like the littermaid does. and it is less noisy than this one.

Had one a few years back, sold it. It kind of worked, but the cat craped all over the side of the box or outside many times. Than it took lot of cleaning up.

Also, the comb had shit stuck in there many times and it stunk.

I think it needs a cover.
