@MrSalty1991 Do not get me wrong...I love these cars, my dad actually has one...but, all ricers? I have a 98 Eclipse GSX with an intake, front mount intercooler and a 16g turbo. I can beat my dads very easily, even from a roll. So don't be saying it can beat all ricers (and when you say ricers, I'm assuming you mean little 4 bangers). But nice car nonetheless, I love them with the stripes.

@MrSalty1991 Considering there have been 3 different engines in the SS during the 6th generation body style, I'm not surprised people are asking how many cylinders you have. Not to mention that there hasn't been a V8 in a Monte Carlo since the 80's.

00-04 has the 3.8L L36 V6

04-05 has the 3.8L L67 V6 Supercharged

06-07 has the 5.3L LS4 V8

@JakeMachado I bought an 06 about a year ago. Way faster than I thought. I believe the horsepower is underated for insurance purposes. I believe it's faster than my 2000 camaro z28.

NO DUMBASS THEY SUPERCHARGED A 5.3 V8. THEY ALSO WERE SIDE WHEEL DRIVE, THE FRONT LEFT AND THE BACK LEFT WHEELS POWERED THIS CAR. IT WAS FUCKING UNREAL AND THEY CAME STOCK WITH FLOWMASTER SUPER 44'S .. YOU FUCKING NOOB. hahaha

ud be correct in that SS were supercharged from 02-to 05 i think bc they are 6 cyl. From 2006-2007 they are all V8 so none of them are supercharged. the separate supercharger is like 6k

@MrSalty1991 Wrong. I have a 2002 SS and it's not supercharged. They came LS, SS, or Supercharged SS. But yea after 05 they started putting V8's in them.

How do you keep front axles in that thing? I have the Dale JR Monte with the super charged six and I worry about breaking an axle when I stomp on it. Yours must be a blast to drive with that 5.3!

just a suggestion, but to really hear the exhaust on the 5.3 ls4 motor which i have myself, is get a high flow cat(dynatech or pypes), and tune to raise idle rpm limits and timing, it gives the engine a better lift sound, they also have aftermarket ram air hoods out now too for the carlo and impala ss at motorsports performance design

Thats a beautifull SS bro! I have a red 07 aswell but mines only a v6... it runs pretty nive though... I need to get started on some tune ups though... any suggestions for a v6?

thanks alot man....my suggesstions would be depending on how much $ you want to spend is a supercharger for moe more....K&N Air Intake to run beter, little bit more power, and beter MPG, but just for a nicer ound either go with the flowmasters or i hear more v6's go with the magnaflows. definatly take off the resonator though if you want a more powerful sound.
