Next Wednesday, April 14, 2010. T. Boone Pickens will be testifying before the U.S. House of Representatives Ways & Means Committee on the need for Congress to pass the NAT GAS Act (H.R. 1835). Americans people need to support him to get our country off OPEC oil, create new American jobs and keep the billions of dollars we send overseas working for our economy. Its never too late to learn, or to fix a problem. Its only too late when you do nothing, or ignore the problem."
Now that T. Boone's wind farm plan is cancelled as of 07/07/2009, and GE Capital is left with a 2 billion dollar investment that likely will never pay off, what do we do now?

There is a better use for natural gas that burns it more co2 efficiently. Natural Gas fuel cells for direct electric home production. I've heard nothing of NG fuel cells for cars, yet.Was wondering why Hydrogen was the only consideration(Plug power)
The car companies could continue on with their electric and electric hybrid/ hybrids. I would think better from a safety standpoint.
I don't know about the Wind thing, HOWEVER, I think his idea of converting cars and trucks to Natural Gas is RIGHT ON.
Current generation Cars and Trucks can run on Natural Gas as well as they can burn Gasoline (converted vehicles will get slightly less mileage, NG vehicles from the factory will get virtually identical mileage)
Oh boy! I need both a spell and content checker. You get my drift though: The weak currency also plays a pivotal role in the price of energy, be it natural gas or otherwise. Because it is conceivable to contain and solve the energy crisis (per T. Boone to cut off the foreign supply factor) but still have a very high domestic price(albeit all-american)due to inflation and a weak dollar. In such case, people do not win; the right solution is both energy self-reliance and a strong domestic economy.
Voinovich must understand when asking with natural gas went from $3mcf to $10mcf, that inflation and a weak currency play a major role. Boone gave him half of the answer when he said that everything play off from the price of oil. The other part has to do with the dollar which is almost at 50% of its 200 price.
In would be nice if Washington made a commitment to Energy Independence, issued a policy proclamation, detailing: milestone objectives, deployment and implementation plans, schedule to complete and budget along with an implementation Czar and supporting cast.
10% of our oil bill would make a nice starting target budget.
You go Boone!!!!! You're right...people don't feel like they're being told the truth about energy. I don't think people think the Bush Administration is for sure. Especially with Dick Chenny in this Administration LOL! I mean, who trusts Dick Chenny LOL!

the weak dollar makes U.S. exports cheaper and is fixing the trade deficit.

I meant to say 50% from its Year 2000 price, regarding value of the dollar.

I'll bet when Pickens is behind closed doors with these senators that he's the one in charge of the meeting. Can someone say, "Enron on steroids"?

His approach may just work. Focusing on the $700 billion and the economy draws little partisan criticism.
