  • You got ring-gah-rahn-dah-collah!

just stop touching me creepy lady

  • Oh, the 70s, the 70s, the 70s!!!!

  • "Innkeeper...a ration of Lowenbrau for me and my men." I remember those commercials as a kid and that catchy song but that line and those guys are really corny now.

  • @johnQ1127 I know - I was responding to someone else's comment about Love Sydney that had nothing to do with this clip other than the fact that Tony Randall was in it. You may want to check the rest of the comments to see what I was responding to before 'correcting' me.

  • Lots of memories, thanks for posting.

  • OMG, that's the teacher from the Breakfast Club doing the Lowenbrau commercial!!! =-D

  • Not too many women are wearing pantyhose anymore but many of them should be!

  • Yes,AIM does taste good!

  • I was born in '76 so I obviously don't remember these ads,but it's always fun to watch them.

  • Lowenbrau was a great beer eating 9 cent hot dogs.

  • @MsFarzee - I would kill for 'Love Sydney' to come out on DVD. That Sucrets commercial - "Barbara, you up? BARBARA, YOU UP!!??" "I'm up now, jerkface!" I know it by heart - I wanted to punch that guy in the face.

  • @shortbread71, "Love Sydney" didn't come out until 1981, this was an add for "The Tony Randall" show which ran from 1976-1978.

  • one thing in common with these products: Made In The USA.

  • lol..... telephones... with cords...

  • Sorry to double post, but I have to ask: What the hell happened to ring-around-the-collar? Did we get rid of it scientifically? Did society just get over its bizzare obsession??? Haven't heard anyone refer to it in at least 20 years, but it was like the center of the universe in the 60's & 70's!

  • LOVING vintage 7-11 smocks and cups!!

  • RING ARONGA COLLAR

  • I was three when that 7-11 commercial aired, and it completely freaked me out.

  • Jeez, hotdogs for 9 cents?!

  • LMAO wow I was 12 and a half back then...blizzard of 78 and great commercials and tv back then!

  • uuuhhhh snowball at 4:37 anyone?

  • Comment removed

  • Finally, this site I went to which features more information on "The World Beyond" suggests that Connie Selleca is featured in the Excedrin ad. kindertrauma dawt calm/?p=355

  • Also, I believe these commercials came from CBS affiliate WREG-TV in Memphis, TN, if you want to add that to the info box.

  • There's a little monster in all of ussssss we can feel beastlyyyyyyy 7-eleven is a lifesaverrrrrr and coffee can perk up your morningggggg.

That AIM ad -- WTF? If I ever got wound up over using the wrong toothpaste, something isn't right.

Tony Randall's very own show lasted 2 seasons, one on ABC and one on CBS.

Creepy music on those closing credits!

  • Dobb's Ford is in Memphis, Tennessee , That's where I bought my truck in 1995. lol Didn't expect that commercial to be in there at all. Aim is familiar, 7 11 , Excedrin, and especially Sucrets, I was 10 years old.

  • @80sCommercialVault I, however, was alive in January of 1978. I was the ripe old age of five months.

  • That guy does look and sound like Carl Sagan

  • ...and that "AIM" commercial...woah!!! How many times I saw that and as a kid it just went over my head...but I still remember the dialogue (kid: "AIM tastes good!" "Taste does not fight cavities, *Flouride* fights cavities" "Mrs. Davis..AIM *HAS* flouride, AIM *fights* cavities!" etc etc etc...)

...I'm just in nostalgia overload now...I'd better shut up and enjoy...later!

  • "Extra Strength Means Excedrin"..

Wow...just...wow...I hadn't seen that commercial since when it last aired and now I'm having a total mind rush :0)!!!!

  • wow, how time has flown.

  • I'M CRACKIN' SKULLS!

  • I thought "Lowenbrau" was brewed by Annheiser-Busch and was strictly another American made beer - with a name that made it sound authentically German. It wasn't too bad, if I remember correctly. It certainly wasn't "imported."

  • @pacific707 From the 70's to 2002 it was brewed in America under license by Miller...with a slight difference in flavor to the original brand brewed in Munich.

  • @pacific707 Ahh - I stand corrected! It was Miller. Still, I remember that it was a good tasting beer and I enjoyed it.

  • 7 Eleven: The guy looked better with the beard! And pretty women working there! Imagine that today...

  • @Markieo He looks like an early version of the GEICO Caveman.

  • "(The first guy must have received all of his fashion advice from Carl Sagan)"

    LMAO!

  • Anyone know why regular Pam wasn't available in Oregon Washington or Western Idaho?

  • @bluematter08 Spent a stupid amount of time trying to find the answer to this question but could not. Wonder if it has anything to do with the questions about the safety of inhaling the vapor? Anyway, I did discover that PAM will dry nail polish! Go figure!

  • 9 cents for a package of hot dogs?!?!?

  • @arclight2012 Not denying that price is insane, but it's with a coupon and a minimum $15 purchase. Being recorded during January, they were probably trying to get rid of their stock during a time when not many people are outside grilling hot dogs.

  • @80sCommercialVault True but nowadays to get a discount on anything you have to spend 50 dollars and even then it's only a few cents. I love your nostalgic commercials though! Yours is my favorite youtube channel!

  • @bluematter08 Hard to believe, but $15 in 1978 was around 48 bucks in today's economy when you account for inflation.

  • Check out the Dobbs Ford spot at 4:38. Someone throws a snowball at her.

Also does anybody know who the teacher is in the Aim spot? She looks really familiar. Maybe someone on Sesame Street or some other kid's show comes to mind.

  • Tony Randall had a sitcom in the early '80's called "Love, Sidney" It was good

  • This bunch of commercials are AMAZING! I am 36 but I remember alot of stuff from '78 television. I have a great memory in general but most of my memories start from the age of 3. I could read at that age and paid close attention to TV ads in particular. Thanks for putting these up.

BTW The L'eggs ad is simply repugnant, I mean, really.

  • more like Low Brow

  • It's the prices of the cars on the car commericial that cracked me up the most. Imagine if they were still that price! We'd all have three of four of them apiece! lol

  • Wow, I love these commericials! Of course I love your '80s ones, too, because I remember seeing a lot of them as a kid. But it's great to see these older ones that I've never seen before. Thanks for posting them :)

  • Tv not the same without commercials. They are entertainments in themselves.

  • Far out, man, groovy ;-) Yes, Tony had his own sitcom (imaginatively titled "The Tony Randall Show") for a couple of seasons, but it was the sting of his next (and last) sitcom in the early '80s that, apparently, kept him from ever doing another series. That one was "Love, Sidney" co-starring the divine Swoosie Kurtz. His character was written in the premiere movie as a gay man, but the show shied away from the whole controversy which ticked Tony right off. What a loss to the TV world that was!

  • Oldies FTW ^^

  • 70's commercials? Yay!

    "32 days of February" what?

was Lowenbrau an actual German beer, or just a German sounding name?

what was "The World Beyond" about?

Fred Montesi's-a grocery store closed on Sundays?

    Arkansas has its own universe?

regular Pam not available in Idaho? oh no! what will they do?

"The World Beyond" had some good music

  • @blugreen123 Lowenbrau is an actual German beer.

"The World Beyond" is a very cheesy movie about Mud Golems.

  • Oh neat, guessing you got this from Super Strange Video? I have the same recording of The World Beyond. Great movie.

Ring around the collar~ *sad face*

  • Now that's an old school Excedrin bottle.

  • this is amazing, the quality is pretty good for being 31 years old. 0.o

  • @usamimiproductions They're actually 33 years old at this point.

I did some major color correction on these...everything was washed out and yellow.

  • I like that you're expanding your video collection to the 70's era.

lol on that 711 commercial. :D

  • Wow, were do you get this footage?

Do you have to clean it up? It looks so clear.

Thanks again, I really enjoyed this 70's Vol.

  • very cool

  • Hey! It's the dude that played the asshole teacher in "The Breakfast Club" and the asshole cop in "Die Hard" at 3:10. (forget his name, good prick actor.)

These are awesome. Some of the imagery I remember. I was three in January 1978.

  • As much as i love 80s and 90s Commercials, its always a great treat to see older commercials just to love the campiness

  • Indeed Tony Randall did have his own sitcom that time!

  • central and mountain? haven't heard that in a long time!

4:41 look at the size of those cars!!

    5:30 Bayer aspirin - bitches!!

that's the first time i've ever seen a commericial for a house phone, lol

you gotta find a Stella Dora Breakfast Sticks commercial!

  • Wow awesome man. Awesome..

  • I like that yellow phone:)

  • holy crap 70's commercials? I guess it was only a matter of time. Lets boggie!

  • What a hell of a deal on groceries! Anyone know what became of Western Electric?

  • @manyvideoinerests It was a manufacturing arm of AT&T that produced telephones, as well as other electronic equipment and devices. The Vitaphone system that brought sound to motion pictures was developed by Western Electric, along with other advances in sound technology. In 1984, WE was swallowed up by a new division of AT&T and in 1996 became independent and split/sold its assets.

  • Very fine! Rare and appreciated. Thanks!!

  • Good morning Fred. Grrrh!lol

  • Just before I checked my account I was wondering when you were going to start posting 70's ads.

    ...And...VOILA!!

Call it a temporary psychic moment...LOL!!!! Or coincidence!!!

  • 9 cents for hot dogs?

  • @TheCinemaFan94

Does anybody know where I can order a decent-working time machine? I tried all the bargain marts in town and they don't seem to carry any for some strange particular reason...

  • @BigBrotherMateyka Nothing beats the ones you can pick up at police and repo auctions. Older Gov't produced time machines are also worth having, and can often be obtained with the right connections. Lots of bells and whistles on those things, let me tell ya.

Stay away from the Kenmore brand time machines at Sears though. My displacement annex once got fried using one of those things, and I winded up in the outer orbit of Jupiter! Very embarrassing...

  • @80sCommercialVault I found that government models are exorbitantly expensive. They charge you an arm and a leg for something that doesn't even go back to when MTV was decent. And that's even without the unbelievable warranty charge and insurance policy! What a ripoff!

I should have also mentioned that I saw a great bargain on QVC one time, but they were sadly all out of stock.

Thanks for the help anyways. I shall always be on the lookout for a new sale. Cheers. =)

  • Sweet 70s commercials too! Your great dude!

  • i can totally relate to the haven't-had-my-coffee-yet wolfman...love it.

  • This is a first! Where did u find these?

  • Also, was everybody having flu's during the 70s? I mean there are 3 medication commercials in this vault alone.

  • The seventies, one of the most underrated decades of the 20th century.

  • Ok, now you have 70s commercials also?! This just in, you're awesome! I know I won't get to see many of these but still.

  • It's too bad you won't be posting many of the 70's stuff, I really like these too. Thank you for this one! :)
