The sounder at 0:44 was well-known from its longtime use at the top-of-the-hour by WCBS Newsradio in New York (and many other CBS-affiliated radio stations). It was composed by Eric Siday.

My god! How much did that equipment cost them back then? It must have ben a fortune!
At the time though, that was cutting edge technology and graphics! And in the 1970's we would watch this kind of thing with amazement!

Thats not a 74, more than likely made by Collins. Basically a modified aircraft radar.
