everyone's different, i had my first tattoo done yesterday, a chestpiece portrait of a lion and it definitely hurt in some areas, like to the point where i was cursing. However, there were many parts where it was more of aggravating than it was painful. On top of that, i didnt eat anything before hand and was running on 4 hours of sleep. Big mistake for me, but i still managed.

@maxwellbevan i got my first tat down the middle of my chest on the sternum and to be honest its tolerable. chest pieces dont hurt that bad. just make sure your hydrated had a good meal befoe and a good night sleep the night before

Youre not sitting very comfortable. When i got my chestpiece i was able to lay down. Anyway, everyone who says it doesnt hurt is indeed a liar. From what i can see from here youre lucky she didnt tattoo over your clavicular bone. To me that sucked a lot plus the point where they tattoo over your sternum.

FYI, I have my neck and chest done and painwise I would rate neck a 4 and chest like 11. everyone has a different experience. I would've hated to be sitting up while my chest was being done like he was! You need to be able to put your mind in another place.

I know chest tattoos hurt. But next time bro, try to relax every part of your body. When you tense your face or any part of you, it only makes it hurt more. I relax my body and chit chat with the artist and until he goes over a bone, I forget I'm getting tattooed :)
