I wouldnt like this doctors tone sometimes cause the way he says "dont blink!" is very aggrevating; or when he says "dont twitch" HOW THE HECK AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO BLINK! Other than that, this was a very interesting video!
he scrapes off the cornea, it takes close to a year to recover and you are required to wear sunglasses for the rest of your life when it is sunny outside. so basically you are replacing glasses for sunglasses.
Epi LASEK is the most advanced , no cut , no flap technique. It can treat very high prescriptions which cannot be treated by LASIK. It is safe as there is no flap and flap related complications.
Epi-LASEK and LASIK are not similar procedures. Epi-LASEK and PRK are similar, HOWEVER in PRK, the epithelium is removed completely with a scraping device that crushes the cells and leaves residue. In epi-LASEK the patient's epithelium is expertly removed with a small mechanism and the epithelium serves as its own bandage following the procedure.
"The major difference between PRK and LESAK is not whether the epithelium is repositioned back or not"
That is exactly the difference! PRK can be done with a brush, laser, or solution to remove epithelium. LASEK is simply PRK with the epithelium replaced. The procedure shown here is PRK. EDUCATE YOURSELF! THIS IS A SCAM!!
The major difference between PRK and LESAK is not whether the epithelium is repositioned back or not. I've read some articles and recent study shows there's no significant difference for post-op process between placing the epithelium back or not. The major difference is the method the surgeon uses to remove the epithelium--in most PRK, a vibrate brush is used; in LASEK, it's a kind of alcohol solution.
Dr. Emil Chynn is unprofessional and inappropriate. He seems to be a decent surgeon, but DON'T QUESTION HIM in any way or he'll become nasty and threaten to discharge you from his practice! He also yells at and demeans his staff in front of patients!

LASIK is finally all over the news and showed to be causing great concern. Google: LASIK FDA, LASIK SUICIDES, LifeAfterLasik, Lasik-Flap. The 95% success rate is bogus. We spoke in front of the FDA Panel this week telling them that there are about 10,000 hurt LASIK patients, not the reported 140 complaints they are stating. Anyway. Google: Brian Williams LASIK FDA NBC, LASIK CBS, LASIK ABC, LASIK CBC.
The INFORMED CONSENT FORM protects the Lying Lasik Doctors from being sued while HURTING the patients these doctors swore to protect when they swore the HIPPOCRATIC OATH "to do NO harm" which they all have forgotten about. Lasik is so dangerous and so many patients are unhappy, that the FDA called for an emergency Panel Discussion taking place on April 24th and 25th, 2008. Google: FDA Panel Lasik Discussion Maryland and you will see what is going on. Patients are suicidal...Need I say more?
That was weird... why did he scrape that part of your cornea off? Or was that something else? and it looked like he twisted your eyeball... what did he do?
Hmm...I thought Lasek left the flap of the epithelium in tact and then repositioned it afterwards...I was thinking about this proceedure with Dr. Chynn, but here it looks like he removed it entirely as in PRK? Could you clarify which procedure you got? Thanks!
how long does it take?

First of all it is LASEK...so if you are going to say something is a scam, I suggest you actually know what you are talking about.

I went to the same place and I truely believe that it is PRK that they do instead of Lasek. I think all the patients should take appropriate action!

Not in the procedure, here they remove it. Then they put a contact over the area to aid it in healing back.
