  • faaaaaaaak

  • haake never taked an arrow to the knee that why he plays like that

  • @NeeZaL14 Looks like you took an arrow to your grammar.

  • The ghost notes just make this incredible.

  • When did Chuck Norris become such a fixture. Isn't he a fundamentalist Christian jock who's only whooped ass on film?

  • @MrVarsityphysics As much as his social prominence is a mystery to me, he is an incredibly skilled martial artist. Studied along side Bruce Lee, and was one of the few opponents Bruce considered worthy. Also fuck yeah Haake.

  • i wonder if Chuck Norris finally meet his match?

  • @MetalHagstrom Chuck Norris taught it Thomas

  • In Soviet Russia, rhythm Haake you.

  • @xxxPinkyGSterxxx In Soviet Russia, set drums you.

  • world champion on bass drum synchro kicking !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is not easy to play from a technical standpoint, or a formal standpoint. The original riff that the song is built on evolves and you have to know when it changes, and how it changes. This is very hard to play. I used to think this song was their "sell out song" b/c they gave it to guitar hero, but I think very differently about it now. This song is really good.

  • Goddamn, it sounds like a motorcycle on idle.

  • @Mechamortal nah it's way to stable for that actually :P

  • @Mechamortal way to rephrase my comment...

  • @gonzofetish lol, I honestly didn't read that far back... Just goes to show what we say is true!

  • 1:56 ... world destruction on drums mode: on

  • He has time to ghost on the snare? Fuck that noise.

  • i Don't understand why some people spit on music they don't understand....must be because they are brainless or sitting home all day shitting in pants while listening to Backstreet boys.....

  • Christ. Haake might just be faster than Killias from Nile. And both drummers are insanely talented!!!!

  • @nagumo10001 Yea they are both very talented but... Haake isn't even close to play speeds what Kollias plays.. but speed isn't everything at all ofcourse both amazing drummers <3 !

  • @samulipj well we dont know that..because he doesnt play brutal death metal and just because 1 drummer is a little faster....doesnt mean shit dude :P its about creativity and the mark u put on ur music

  • Personally I believe if you don't like a drummer's style that does not make him a poor drummer. Meshuggah does what they want and never asked anyone to like it, that's the point... they have fun and play the kind of music they want to play. Personally I think Thomas Haake's sense of timing and rhythm are uncanny.

  • @fenz23 Someone said that Haake is a poor drummer? Lol. Who?

  • Comment removed

  • sonor signature series snare drum bell fucking bronze ftw!

  • @VYours, Dude, this song is quite a challenge to play on drums. Hell, even the picking technique is hard. It took tomas 6 months to learn the ENTIRE song. It took me 6 months to play the INTRO. And I'm not exactly a rookie... If you don't like the Djent genre, and you're gonna troll everything that comes out under said genre, all you gotta do is listen to some other form of extreme music, like Death Metal. Most of which is in 4/4, but hey, it's REALLY fast, and alot more guitar driven! :D

  • garbage

  • @flymarvin GTFO

  • Chuck Norris wrote this song, however he couldnt perfect the polyrythems so he gave it to the only living man who can...

  • Thomas Haake won the most bland drummer ever competition.

  • @VYours Hilarious, coming from a fan of Black Dahlia Murder.

  • @clipsryan That's ironic, coming from a Meshuggah fan. Go ahead and watch a drum video of Malenchantments of the Necrosphere, and you tell me honestly which you think is harder to play, Bleed or that. Note: this is rhetorical, anyone with half a clue knows Shannon Lucas makes Thomas Haake look amateur as hell. He is the most boring drummer ever, every song is some uninspired polyrhythm on bass and an incredibly simple 2-based hand pattern that almost never changes over a whole song.

  • @VYours Really? I didn't hear anything that blew me away from Malenchantments, but instead of engaging in this silly argument, I'll just say that you should listen to Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree and Morgan Agren from Mats/Morgan Band to hear some incredible drumming.

  • @Purkinje90 That's because you've got bad ears dude. By now you need shit as bland and watered down as Thomas Haake's to hear what's going on. 4-count on one, maybe go between two, cymbals the entire song, half or whole note snare, maybe go quarter note snare for a while, etc. Now copy guitar on bass the whole time. Haake is boring trash, your brain's getting all washed out listening to Meshuggah's boring trash, lol.

  • @VYours Did you completely skip Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere, and Nothing? Those are some of the most varied, intricate, unique albums I've ever heard. ObZen my be a straightforward album, and Catch 33 may be repetitive for some, but that doesn't mean that everything Meshuggah writes is bland trash, in my own opinion. At the very least, admit that Destroy Erase Improve is a good album. This isn't a science, VYours, it's an art form.

  • @Purkinje90 They've been bland sell-out trash for years now. I don't consider albums from the 90s as Meshuggah, that band has long ceased to make music.

  • @VYours Nothing was released in 2002, but I see what you're saying. They certainly have changed in style, but I still like some of their new stuff. Pineal Gland Optics is an interesting track, and Catch 33 had its moments. I'm excited to hear where they take the sound in the new album, which will be out next year.

  • @VYours No matter how much you "know about metal" a) you haven't posted any videos of yourself playing and b) I will never understand why people come to these videos just to blast someone's playing, and that is exactly why you will never be a true musician. We all learn from each other, even the 3 chord punk band that you may hate at least has something to learn from, but I guess I'll just go back to complaining like 99% of the metalheads out there.

  • @VYours A clear sign of an immateur metal head. Difficulty is subjective and isn't the magic ingredient for a masterpiece. Comparing BDM to Meshuggah is fucking stupid and most deathcore bands were inspired by Meshuggah, idiot. Shannon is extremely predictable but morons like you think his fast playing makes him better than a drummer who can play fast and actually be technical with his rythms. Haake is an visual artist, lyricist and award winning drummer. Shannon is a nobody. Go fuck yourself.

  • @clipsryan Typical Meshuggah fan: ignorant, narrow-minded and mega-butthurt-defensive. (Immateur, lol.) All the djent bands that were inspired by Meshuggah are all way better (Animals, Periphery, etc.). If you knew anything about music, you'd realize the BDM song I mentioned is infinitely more varied, technical and catchier than anything Meshuggah. Meshuggah just has more press space, they're bland garbage 100%. You obviously know nothing about music. Keep talking out of your ass, fanboy.

  • GARBAGE

  • @flymarvin You like Limp Bizkit. The fuck do you know about drumming?

  • @clipsryan I know your MAMA BLOWS ME ya maggot.

  • @flymarvin I said drumming. Pay attention, retard.

  • @clipsryan EAT MY SHIT YOU MAGGOT.

  • @flymarvin Why, too full eating your own BULLshit?

  • I think they were on tour on day, and got stuck next to a Harley at a red light, and they were like holy fuck that's our next song!!!

  • @gonzofetish Man, finally somebody with a truly unique comment haha

  • @THEGSPOT0394 haha

  • yeah the drummers make the beat of 4/4 when acually the guitarists play in 16/28

  • @musicguitarlessons I'd be hesitant to take lessons from you. There is no 16/28 beat. There are X/1 X/2 X/4 X/8 X/16 X/32 beats, with X in place of a number. The beginning riff of Bleed can be described as a pattern of 3/4 over 4/4. Then they change stuff up, but bottom line is they play 4/4 with changing accentuation.

  • @Ragnarockalypse

    not 100% true

for example you can use 2/3 timing to deleneate 2 measures of a triplet in comparison to the rest of the music, equal to 1 bar. Look for Pierre Boulez and see some of his scores. Frank Zappa for another.

  • Tomas Haake doesnt use a metronome to become a better drummer, the metronome uses Tomas to become a better metronome.

  • Anyone here noticed that how with almost every other drummer, there heads bob down to the snare beat. But Tomas' head actually bobs the other way 0_o it's like his whole mentality of Rhythm is inverted... Probably what makes him such a good drummer!

  • every metal drummer should pay homage to BLEED double bass

  • @VitalSigns1 GTFO man. And tell me, what time is this song in? Cuz I bet you can't count time

  • @zoltan1324 It is 4/4!! :D

  • White boyz can't keep time...

  • I always have time to take out of my busy day to appreciate some Math Metal.

  • Thomas haake doesn't feel the rythm, it's the rythm who feel haake.

  • thomas haake was killed by chuck noriss for stolen the rythm from him

  • Tomas H. is the metronome God uses to meassure new creations of human entities.

  • what's a ghost note?

  • @AlMachineKTC Notes played at a much lower volume than normal hits. Notice at 0:24 how he is lightly hitting the snare to a rhythm and then hits harder for the actual accented notes.

  • @HolyCheezitsDan thanks for the answer ;)

  • view 99,999

  • This is why i go to bed crying every night

  • such a perfect sounding snare, god damn

  • if you look closely and focus hard, you can see the motors in his legs

  • Dat ghost note

  • Thomas Haake really is the future breeding machine..

  • he mustve beat arthritis at age 7

  • Sick.

  • brutal.

  • 1:06 he is bettter than god... he's playing that with one foot...

i am ashamed to be a drummer... D:

  • @lavonster93 No he's not.... retard

  • @Peperkorn14 well watch the lack of movement in his left beater.. and tell me its moving.

  • @lavonster93 might have a double beater on his dominant kick and a single pedal on his left foot... just sayin'

  • @Peperkorn14 ah... i feel like a dumbass now... because its very faint but there...

  • @lavonster93 Its all good

  • Aww fuck.

    There's Ghost Notes too...

  • Thomas Haake isn't just a machine, he's a robotic metronome covered in organtic material...

    .

    .

    .

    HOLY SHIT!!! He's a Terminator!!!!

He's a T-9000, sent back here to save mankind from the repetitive dribble that most drummers provide us with. Thank you Mr Haake for saving humanity. lol

  • Thomas Haake won the Bleed drum competition..!

  • this drum beat isnt that hard to play right, but to play it for 7 fucking minutes is rediculous!!!! ontop of that, hes adding ghost notes on the snare :/

  • @Synetik4 "this drum beat isnt that hard to play right" lol, right. :D

  • @Synetik4 the hard part is what is doing with pedals, no with hands!

  • @Synetik4 he's not adding ghost notes cuz "it looks kewl" it's to help his groove obviously

  • @Jaejgaren i know that? lol

  • Reckon he's got insurance on those calf muscles?

  • dude, you probably already know... but reading 'thomas' haake is fucking annoying. you should change it.

  • Pretty good, I admire his control with the bass pedals.

  • This video is completley fake. I tried this and both of my Achilles tendons snapped and whipped all the way up to my thighs.

  • What's a fail? Tomas ain't got nothing on linking park, or... The drummer from bullet for my valentine.

  • @Nialzzz Did I just read this correctly?

Please tell me I'm on acid, and your comment is only an illusion.

  • @Nialzzz

    I see you trollin :P

    Oh yoooooooooou :P

  • @123JoeD456 I was joking buddy.

  • @Nialzzz

hehe I should hope so too :P

  • @123JoeD456

    whats to joke about?

theres no way that this guy could play any blink 182 song

  • @franks1no

So you reckon a talented drummer could no way possibly learn another talented drummers songs?

  • @123JoeD456

naw i reckon its hard to read sarcasm on youtube comments

    tomas haake is a machine

  • @franks1no

Ahh my sarcasm detector is broke :P

Or I expect half the people on youtube to be morons with horrible HORRIBLE opinions :P

  • @123JoeD456 I was joking buddy.

  • chuck norris has wet dreams about tohams haake

  • Fuck. One foot? Pwn.

  • This song is so basic! Anyone heard "faint" by linkin park? Now that is impressive!

  • @Nialzzz Yeah, it sure was! I could hardly follow the rhythms in that song!! 8O

  • @Nialzzz

thats the stupidest thing i have ever heard...

you cannot even compare MAINSTREAM linKIn park to the meshuggah ......LMAO

    LINKIN PARK

  • @everythingisfake1973 I was being ironic my friend. There is more musical talent in fredricks fingernail clippings than any of the linkin park guys.

  • @Nialzzz I'm pretty sure I saw the members of linkin park picking up Tomas' spit off the ground the other day, then Tomas walked by and handed them a quarter to fight over.

  • @everythingisfake1973

    lol ok gotcha friend....

i just had to go have a listen to ...I

im still in lalla land after it..

meshuggah are in a class of their own,to be touched by no one...and i have been a metalhead since 1982

  • @Nialzzz Wow! Your joking is even more impressive!

  • @Nialzzz fail

  • ftaywej;lizfsndk .ca sdFSZdggiugcsgajfdks

Sorry, i was trying to clean the jizz off of my keyboard..

  • to all the haters: this guy probably practiced this song for longer than you've played drums in your entire life. dedication, hard work, and skill made this possible. dude is a beast!

  • anyone knows what foot technique he uses? I want to try the impossible ._.

  • @toxendon Most likely heel-toe on the dominant foot for every triplet. That is to say, the whole freakin' time.

  • he good but i still think adler is the best

  • and i thought chris adler's whiplash heel movement was something! nothing compared to this.

  • Those ghost notes are like a huge "Fuck you" to every drummer everywhere.

  • By the time someone can actually play this, Meshuggah'll probably.... oh wait, what was I thinking? o.O

  • @Bleed2510 lol i can it takes some practice for sure his style is very different.

  • @Tylerthemetalking You mean with all the ghost notes and 16ths?

  • @Bleed2510 Yeah it takes a minute to learn how to control it but when u do it sounds awesome.

  • @Tylerthemetalking Killer. Thanks to you I actually sat and practiced the song :D.

  • @Bleed2510 Hell yeah man it ain't that hard just keep on workin on it and you'll have it down pat.

  • Seven people like Lars Ulrich.

  • @mag1011 Despite being a crazy dane, his swedish collegeue beats him by far..

  • sounds like the idle on my car

  • Me every morning I play it. But with one hand, otherwise it's too simple.

  • @PlankWall

are you saying that this song is simple?

  • @MetalHeadFilipeG96 It is ironic. This song is unplayable !

  • @PlankWall

duh, thats obvious, but i didnt really understand your last comment

  • @MetalHeadFilipeG96 To be fair, what makes a song complex? Changing time signatures and having them add up to a number divisible by x isn't exactly complex. This song is basically a bunch of rhythmic ostinatos. Insanely difficult to play for all instruments and awesome as hell to listen to but complex? I would question that.

  • @XianXiuHong

well, ya, the definition of complex depends on the person, and i have no idea what youre talking about since i never drummed in my life, but to me, comparing this to the regular drumming i usually see, it looks complex

  • Because of him i´m playing sonor 3007 drums! They are sick!

  • Remember guys, no matter what you do you'll never be able to play this. You might believe for a few minutes you are..but you aren't.

  • I think Tomas Haake did one of the most epic song on drums, EVER.

  • Mind = blown so badly my brains are all over the wall.

  • Chuck Norris wears a Tomas Haake shirt

  • @mee11mee thomas haake wears a jimmy sullivan shirt

  • He does the foot pedal thing with ease. He must have practiced that for days and days to get it right!

  • @hdrevolution123 Months actually, Haha, Took him 6 months for this song.

  • Chuck Noris aint got shit on this!

  • HE IS THE BEST THERE FUCKIN IS!!!

  • If Chuck Norris played drums...

  • @SquirrelMurderer He would fucking suck

  • holy shit.. amazing

  • fuck man, who needs to do Yoga, Gymnastic and aerobics anymore....?

  • Tomas haake invented water

  • Tomas Haake is like..the Chuck Norris of Drumming.

  • Holy shit, 66,666 views

  • I think it's amazing how well he accents the music with the cymbals. Considering the insane difficulty of just PLAYING this song, he really goes above and beyond by performing it with pure excellency.

  • 116th notes.

  • @MrLittlesunflower actully 1116th notes lol XD

  • the chinas sound so fucking sick !!!!

the bassdrum isnt really hearable.. BUT I STILL LIKE this sick video, these 7 dislikers should fuck themselves :P

  • Where this was ?

I Try to get this fucking food pattern for a week now..

  • The ghosts make this that much more sick.

  • such casual accuracy that you or I would have to concertrate 110% to pull off! This guy can indeed divide by zero.

  • i'd hate to be kicked by him

  • @brandon5pennies i just laughed lol

  • @brandon5pennies I know right lol

  • @brandon5pennies id hate to be that dass drum head

  • He outdrums the drummachines

  • Flawless! I swear he's a midi programmed robot, I've seen covers, but none of them matches up to the sheer accuracy of Tomas' footwork

  • @Power2theFlyingV Agreed. Only drummer I'm aware of with Tomas's robotic accuracy is Gene Hoglan.

  • Could anyone tell me why he's wearing a glove thing on one hand?

  • @RonnieBlack444 Sometimes you loose your sticks and it happens more to your right hand since it's the one keeping constantly the rythm so you can't grab it back while playing, you can with the left one, so it's only usefull sometimes to have a glove to the hand that is an issue for loosing sticks.

  • @Kattastroph Cool, thanks. That's what I thought, i've just never seen him do it before.

  • @RonnieBlack444 HE'S GOT BLISTERS ON HIS FINGERS MATEEE!!!

  • Did they finish the song?

  • @RonnieBlack444

Well yeah they finished the song!

  • Jon rice from JFAC.....is a beast......
