  • Personally out of all the bitless bridles this one is the best (type in bitlessbride . come withOUT the spaces) My pony is SO much more relaxed and it's not in danger of breaking his now or anything, it's so AMAZING!

  • @PeterpanandEmie . com not come

  • thank you for the help. i ride my buckskin all the time with our hand-me-down rope halter and softy reins. my young filly i've started groundwork and will use it too. she will never know a bit. such a joy to raise this girl. we're both learning as we go.

  • I really love the idea of using a bitless bridle but I'm also a bit worried about trying it. I ride a friend's horse and he is great but he spooks, bolts and naps in the fields and on the road and I was wondering would a bitless bridle be dangerous to use on a horse like this? I really don't like having to rely on a bit in situations like this but it might be safer...

  • Hee eva!

  • Is there another name for the glucksrad? I've been trying to get a ballpark price on ebay, but there are zero results.

  • In romanian I use too "HO" for stop the horse and kind of "ckck" to go faster. But does really exist a command to rear or for piaffee? Could you tell me in your langue :D . In my langue walk = "pas" , trot = "trap" (kinda funny when you think in english XD ) , canter = "galop" and you use for attention "atentie!".

  • thank you for making and loading down this video!

i´m rinding bitless (sometimes with bit too) and it´s great that you show here, that´s possible..many people don´t know much about bitless riding and wouldn´t try it, but it´s so wonderful and everbody should know this feeling!!

great job, love your videos, they are such beautiful inspiration for me!

    best wishes, a.

  • You should be world famous! Thanks so much for uploading this! Because it made so much sense and helped me a lot!

  • so lets put it this way .

To bitless ride you need trust from your horse (right ?) this trust will never come if you have a nanosecond of fear , because the horse gets it (BIG TIME ) in a half nanosecond .

Conclusion : work on you being bitless yourself and the horse will come along the way .

I mean you girl are absolutely fantastic , and I am so glad to see more and more of you young ladies spreading around the world

    Keep going !

  • I love the way you express it :-) so simple so commune sense . I know exactly what you wanna say when you say " don’t think about "what if " be positive " . it's easy for you and people who don’t have built fear like 99 % of riders…in clubs … for example, where fear is the drive for more business ( you got it ) .

  • is the horse at 0:16 half arabian and half apoloosa? cuz she/he is white w/ black spots, and the horses tail is held very high. like an arabians. i have just started riding, and i want to get all the horse knowledge that i can. :D

  • Gorgeous video!!

  • Eva je bent gewoon geweldig metje paarden.

  • A saddle is actually better for a horses back.. so you normally should use the saddle. :P Other than that amazing video.

  • What a beautiful Haflinger! I love the old typ!

This is a perfect exemple that Haffis go dressage!

It´s wonderfull what you do there!

  • Wow *-*

  • I have a connemara x cob and he is 17, would you say it is to late to introduce this technique? Would i be able to train him the same as any other horse or would it have to be done differently? I love the idea of being able to ride without a bit as horses always seem more comfortable without one. You have a lovely horse by the way xxx

  • I love the music played in your videos

  • what music is this , just fits with the video!

  • amazing horse!<3 subb me back ;) ?

  • @lolmarlene99 * horses !haha..

  • I plan to go bitless with my horse, but while horses may be able to achieve the same things with or with out a bit, USDF rules state that a horse must be ridden with a plain snaffle or double bridle. So if a horse is going bitless not just for the fun of it, but rather because he can't tolerate the bit like mine, he won't be able to compete because of the rulebook. in dressage at least.....

  • how have you achieved roundness with Shilas? as in, how have you taught him to carry himself so well and work from behind?

  • I ride with a Hackamore,,and it's not anything special, really. I used to have a horse who wouldnt take any type of bridle, and I had to ride him by just pulling left or right on the lower part of his mane.No problem.Just takes time to train them to work that way.

  • Goed filmpje.

  • i ride bitless and its ok it s not light a mirical or anything you dont have alot of control but i find my horse is more balanced now, that might because i use a special type of bitless bridle thats not a hackamore

  • Finally a conclusion I can agree with. Great video!

  • Wow, I wish i could employ you to come and teach over here! It is hard to find instructors who put the horse first and can brak tradition too. If you're looking for work in the UK, call me! Lorraine Lanner Equestrian Centre Uk

  • hey i think this is a great video :D but if ur riding bitless if ur horse bolts do they pull up ok or wat?

  • Heeh.. I used to ride my neighbor's horse with just his halter and lead! He was great.

  • Hello, everybody!

I use the "Glücksrad/LG-Zaum" and I can say that it ist much better than with a bit. When you have questions you can write me in german.

    Hallo an alle Deutschsprachigen,

    Nice video :)

  • How can you play with the horses mouth without a bit ?

( sorry my english is not perfect) ^^

  • its going to sound realy wierd but i tried bitless riding and god did my horse bloody hate it i dnt know why but i dnt think she likes the sensation of slight pulling on her cheack just where her mouth ends my horse is very weird and silly :) thats why i luve her tho :)

  • W0W *-* this horse is so beautiful and so wonderful.. ♥.

he is soo ... sweeet ..

  • you are the prfect horse rider

  • I would have to agree, bitless riding is the best. I ride with a hackamore with one of my mares and she just loves it. Im training my other mare and im training her for bareback and halter first. BTW your horse is BEAUTIFUL! :)

  • eeekkkk xx haflinger <3 x

  • When you use the halter, you can just clip the lead line to one side of the halter and tie the leadline on the other side.

  • The only way to ride if you ask me. As far as I am concerned - you have to ride with a bit; you can't ride.

  • Love your videos :)

I do bit less riding but i use a dully halter as my dales can get vary strong at time, But is now alot better with out a bit.

Just started to jump her bit less and going really well, But one Q?? She now doesn't go in a nice out line :L Help?x

  • Shilas is so beautiful and talented! I've watched so many videos of him and I like him even more for every video! :D

  • Your horse is soooo beautifull i love paliminos

  • @No1HorseLuvrX im sorry i have to correct you:) im not trying to be a snob :) its actually chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail:) im now done, carry on loving horses:D but your right he/she is really pretty:)

  • my horse, sundance, is 8 now with only 30 days training at 5. we learned neck reinging ,but only a little. he is very patient with me. he stops if i bounce. he knows the basic ques. we only pleasure ride-is it o.k. he does not learn more advanced stuff?

  • thank you for the offer of help. i have only had horses 4yrs of my life and love to keep learning to care for my 3 better. i was wanting to know if my bounce at times, does it hurt my horse's back. i always ride bareback or with a pad. my saddle doesn't fit. thanks for any help!!!

  • i cried so bad when i found bit videos last winter. i made windchimes out of my bits and have never looked back. i use rope halter or headstall with reins. my horses appreciate it. i am so happy to know more people are learning this too. lucky horseys!!!thank you so much. i made an arabian style neck sash for my older arab, the major, and he stopped when i pulled on it!! wow!! it's made of fabric.

  • Very nice video and information. I went bitless two years ago and have been very happy with the Nurtural bridle that I have been using. Like yourself my choice was not because of any belief that bits are cruel but because to me it was just taking her training and lightness to the next level. I like that I can have a high level of communication and allow my horse the freedom from a bit in her mouth. I just trail ride my horse but I do love seeing examples like yours of high level bitless riding.

  • I would love to learn more from you!

  • Thank you for a great example, your common sense, and for encouraging advice. It is appreciated!

  • I changed my horses bridle into a bitless one about 2 years ago, and she started relaxing so much more. Before she just took the bit between her teeth and ran whenever she wanted to but after I could control her more with a bitless bridle and not hurt her mouth, she relaxed, she's amazing now, but I never use sounds other than clicking my tonge to make her do anything :p

  • How do you attach reins to just the noseband of the bridle?

  • Thanks for this tutorial!

I tried it yesterday with my horse.. she seemed a bit confused at the beginning but it went quite well :)

  • How much to the average bitless bridles cost? :)

  • Around 40 euro's. That's why I tell people to start with a halter, much cheeper and just as good to use! :D

  • @SightUnseen911

not much....if you order one online it is cheeper

  • thanks i wanna try this with my horse he doesnt enjoy the bit to much haha

  • My horse tends to take off before jumps. He ends up either getting too close and stopping or standing too far back and having a massive stand off. Wasn't such a big issue at the beginning, but it's getting worse. He's an ex-race horse, so he's very highly strung and very sensitive. Would a bitless bridle help him? I don't know if he will listen to it, because he's very hard to control between jumps. Also, which bitless bridle would you recommend?

  • Great tutorial, thanks a lot, about to start training bitless myself.

  • Hallo,

  • i use The Bitless Bridle by Dr. Robert Cook , and i also ride with neckrope =)

  • What voice commands do you use? I know something like "whoa" for stopping and "back" for reverse, but do you use others?

  • I use 'HO' to stop or to reduce speed and I use Dutch commands such as 'Stap' to walk, 'Draf' to trot and I click my tongue to go faster. I use 'LEEET OP' (pay attention) to prepare my horse. For example: 'LEEEET OP!" - command for rearing - rear.

  • @EvaRoemaat Thanks. I wasn't sure if you also said "left" and "right" for turns. I like the preparation concept.

  • It works perfect! :) Just try things out and use the method that fits you and your horse best! :D

  • Super!

    RESPECT!!!(A)

  • THAT WAS REALLY GOOD! Thanks! =)

  • my horse is really headstrong and he likes to put lots of pressure and rest on your hands as you ride, no matter how soft you use your hands.. do you think riding bitless with him would be okay? x

  • good video!

I'm going to try that but first with someone who can help me

    thanks a lot !

  • awesome! :]
