Omgosh I just watched this video because I want to see if I can make some food pretty fast and I just notice this haha andI bought this kit pretty long time ago and mines are pink too and I love this food
*haha* so that's how you wrap them, the directions were confusing so my friend and I put the rice inside the plastic somehow....lets just say it was very messy, but thanks for the clear and concise directions :)
@aeriskitchen Ah sorry for wasting your time I wrote the comment before watching it all! Thank you I can't wait to try it. Please keep on making videos~ <3
there is spicy friend ground beef filling for triangle kimbap .. for the kimchi tuna one.. maybe you can add some ground meat (beef.. pork.. chicken.. shrimp.. )..but for the tuna mayo one.. I doubt that other meat will match that good with the mayo thing..
Oh.. long grain rice different from short grain rice in both texture and taste. I think.. if you can get this triangle kimbap kit.. you will be able to find short grain rice too.. so I want to recommend you try that.. but if you can't.. then.. you have to use long grain rice.. thanks :)
Thank you so much.i finally made them yesterday it was fun and very delicious. I couldn't find any of tuna so i replaced sardine fish and its still good.please upload more of your cooking recipes..
every single country gets a idea from different countrys and they change it little bit to match their taste.
so I do agree that koreans did get the idea from japan but we put the stuff that we want in it. like soon or later every body would of thought of a idea to but "Rice with seeweed"
yeah :) thanks Aeri for uploading so many great vids :) <3 I love u!!
i'm confused....i thought you ate kimbap with the seaweed? but the seaweed is wrapped in plastic, and the plastic is wrapped around the rice...so how do you eat the seaweed? O.o
@blingblingshineshine: I think you can made it like the Japanese onigiri, they not always cover it with seaweed. In that case you make the triangle in your hand.
Arie, I did this today, wanted to try out so long :) It is absolutely marvellous! Thanks for the recipe.
Sorry.. I don't know Japanese food well.. I wonder if you meant.. mochi icecream..which is.. sticky rice cake ice cream ?? the great Japanese cooking channel.."cookingwithdog" can make it if you ask her. Sorry for poor answer again. thanks :)

언니~ ^^ can i use sushi seaweed paper? i afraid i can't found korean seaweed paper in my country...if i don't use the plastic will it have a different taste?
I usually use Korean brand dried roasted seaweed for kimbap..so I'm not that familiar with sushi seaweed.. However, I think, it will work, so try it. ^^ the plastic part is for wrapping not taste.. so you can just make the rice triangle shape or other shapes you want..and cover it with seaweed. ^^ thanks
I've always wondered where those people got those sheets of seaweed with the plastic! Now I don't have to buy prepared Tuna triangle kimbap (: Thank you Aeri!
Also: So much HATE in the comments. Jeez guys, a certain type of food is not restricted to one state. Food should be enjoyed and shared, not fought about or over. Just because you know that one culture consumes a certain type of food a certain way, does not mean another cannot do the same.
Absolutely shocked at the vile comment made by beretanian below. For hundreds of years since Chosun dynasty Koreans consumed dried seaweed and their main food is rice. In old days they packed riceballs with them during the journey. I bet it's same for the Japanese since their main food is same kind of round rice as Koreans. That certainly doesn't mean they stole from each other It's just natural process. BTW, how many people know mayonaise originate from County Mayo in Ireland??
Do you mean that the Korean ancient "dried seaweed" is the Japanese NORI?
We Japanese hear that our NORI SHEET was invented in Asakusa, Edo (contemporary Tokyo), in the Edo period through the method of Japanese PAPER-MAKING which is called WASHI.
And around 1910, "Japanese Governor-General of Korea" brought NORI making specialists to Korea from Japan to teach Koreans how to make NORI SHEET.
lol I was so confused at the beginning because I was wondering about the plastic around the wrap lol and then finally you showed that the plastic peels off and it all made sense! lol Thanks for the video!
Yeah, I see, you prolly are one of those 3 haters out dere, wondering why that Sushi looking dish's called Gimbap.
Be more specific of your point; but in case you were mistaking Gimbap as Sushi, then know that Asians can distinguish sandwich and burger - why can't u?
don't u know that both kimchi and gimbap are origin to Koreans?
Go look up on Google, if you lack East Asian history or w/e.
sorry I can't remember exactly... but I guess it was 5 dollar something as a kit. if you just buy refilling (only dried seaweed but not the plastic tool..) it's cheaper than that..
@goodsinister if you look in her videos... she already made the jjang jjang myun (with black bean paste) sauce to make a dish with rice I think. I suppose that you only have to follow the instructions to make the sauce and add it to pasta instead of rice :)
ooo wow!! thank You so much for this video!! I hope to make it. Last time I used to eat often for my breakfast or lunch^^ my favourite was the bulgogi taste^^
Until recently, we fed him food without any salt and sugar.. I made his baby food... yes I can understand how you feel about preparing different kinds of baby food for your child..since both nutrition and good taste are important for her.. I slowly introduce him.. the food we are eating (still not too salty or spicy or sweet food..) I gave him..a little bit of kimchi tuna.. he loved it.. maybe for your daughter.. just add some finely chopped and fried vegetables in the center.. ^^
OOO It looks so easy now that I know you can buy the kits. It's just like おにぎり (Onigiri) which is the same thing but Japanese and I love those! I can't wait to try and make some :D
Hi can you please tell me how to make those yummy salad that they eat with Kalbi, and also the spicy octopus dishes! I love your channel!! I tried the stew fished dish one and it was awesome!!
@aeriskitchen dear Aeri, it has onion, some thinly slide carrots, lettuce, and a red pepper flake, garlic, green onion, soy sauce and sesame sauce. It was served with Kalbi in the restaurant. I tried to made them once before and it taste ok, but I want to know if you know how to make them since your recipe always so good. Thank you so much!! P/s: your son is so cute!!
Thank you! I am going to check my Hmart for the kits! I am always looking for new things to put in my daughter's school lunch, I think we will try this :)
When I saw you putting the rice on the seaweed and plastic wrap, the entire rest of the video I was stressing about how you're supposed to eat it with the plastic on.
thank God, you showed how to unpeel it. I was about to go Google it and see if it was edible plastic or if the seaweed was just used for freshness.
lol Your comment made me laugh...and yes I can understand how you felt... I could explain about the plastic wrap better before I use it in this video..anyway.. hehe thanks :)
LOL RAWR RAWR in the bloopers XD so cute~ the best thing about these packages is the unwrapping haha..it's so cool how it just comes together...and into your stomach =P
those plastic wraps are genius inventions! seperates rice from seaweed but yet when you open them, the plastic on the inside doesn't get all tangled and comes off!
Food culture is not defined as stolen when it mends with another food culture you idiot, it becomes accustomed to their own culture. Are you going to say Yaki Niku is stolen from Korea? Pizza is stolen from Italy to America? Ramen is stolen from China to Japan?
In fact if you know your history, the "idea of ball" of rice has been taken from Korea from the Japanese in the early 1930's and Japanese people localized when they took it back to their country and called it "onigiri"
That's why Japs are hated by all of Asia except your island friend Taiwan, jap monkeys. I hope you people eat well and grow taller and bigger dick, it looks like radiation is effecting your brain already.
When you are about to eat the kimbap, you open on the instructed line and you carefully remove the plastic inside and outside, the plastic inside keeps the seaweed from getting soggy from the rice.
the brand name was written in Chinese letters.. we read "MyungGa (명가)" in Korean. You can ask "triangle kimbap kit" or "samgak kimbap kit" in a Korean grocery store.
can i make a veggie kimbap?

Most Japanese cultures were delivered in the ancient Korea and China.
Origin of Japanese culture that you know now is discovered in the most Korea and China.
Even, their emperor is ancient Korean's descendants who crossed to Japan.
This is truth that recognize by Japanese emperor. He said that oneself was Korean's descendants.
People who study about history of East Asian recognize this truth.

When I saw you putting the rice on the seaweed and plastic wrap, the entire rest of the video I was stressing about how you're supposed to eat it with the plastic on.
thank God, you showed how to unpeel it. I was about to go Google it and see if it was edible plastic or if the seaweed was just used for freshness.

those plastic wraps are genius inventions! seperates rice from seaweed but yet when you open them, the plastic on the inside doesn't get all tangled and comes off!

This is a Japanese "onigiri" sold in a convenient store.
beretanian 10 months ago
@beretanian
Onigiri is not the same
drsnowmon 10 months ago
@drsnowmon you stole onigiri and localize it.
beretanian 10 months ago
@beretanian

Narusayshi 10 months ago
Wait..so what happens to plastic wrap in the seaweed cover? Isnt it suppose to cover just the outside?
scoza 10 months ago
@scoza
When you are about to eat the kimbap, you open on the instructed line and you carefully remove the plastic inside and outside, the plastic inside keeps the seaweed from getting soggy from the rice.

ichikawa933 10 months ago
can you post the name of the kit?
OohSoVina1988 10 months ago
@OohSoVina1988
the brand name was written in Chinese letters.. we read "MyungGa (명가)" in Korean. You can ask "triangle kimbap kit" or "samgak kimbap kit" in a Korean grocery store.

I'm going to make this tomorrow.
