  • *haha* so that's how you wrap them, the directions were confusing so my friend and I put the rice inside the plastic somehow....lets just say it was very messy, but thanks for the clear and concise directions :)

  • I dont know why but my mom made me the same thing with the same tools...o.o

  • What brand mayonnaise do you use in this recipe and in your fruit salad recipe? Some American brands of mayo has a weird taste.

  • @Cubeclarei

Haha..I used American brand...I thought it taste different from Korean one..but now I accustomed it..and like the flavor. ^^

  • Ahh, I remember trying to take out the plastic wrapper but the rice would always crumble :c.

  • This may sound weird but once you make it how do you eat it? It's still got the plastic on so would you have to unwrap it all??

  • @geekmallot

If you watch this video.. it shows how to eat almost at the end of the video.. ^^

  • @aeriskitchen Ah sorry for wasting your time I wrote the comment before watching it all! Thank you I can't wait to try it. Please keep on making videos~ <3

  • can you use other kind of meats other than tuna?

  • @ellenlee1990

there is spicy friend ground beef filling for triangle kimbap .. for the kimchi tuna one.. maybe you can add some ground meat (beef.. pork.. chicken.. shrimp.. )..but for the tuna mayo one.. I doubt that other meat will match that good with the mayo thing..

  • @aeriskitchen spicy friend? 친구를 잡아 먹다니

  • @aeriskitchen @aeriskitchen spicy friend? 친구를 잡아 먹다니

  • would it be okay to use long grain rice? Because my house only has long grain rice from Thailand.

  • @1997aiya

Oh.. long grain rice different from short grain rice in both texture and taste. I think.. if you can get this triangle kimbap kit.. you will be able to find short grain rice too.. so I want to recommend you try that.. but if you can't.. then.. you have to use long grain rice.. thanks :)

  • Most Japanese cultures were delivered in the ancient Korea and China.

Origin of Japanese culture that you know now is discovered in the most Korea and China.

Even, their emperor is ancient Korean's descendants who crossed to Japan.

This is truth that recognize by Japanese emperor. He said that oneself was Korean's descendants.

People who study about history of East Asian recognize this truth.

  • Do you think I could make this without the Seaweed?I absolutely hate seaweed,so?Other than the seaweed I think I would looooveee this :)

  • @blingblingshineshine: I think you can made it like the Japanese onigiri, they not always cover it with seaweed. In that case you make the triangle in your hand.

Arie, I did this today, wanted to try out so long :) It is absolutely marvellous! Thanks for the recipe.

  • I like the idea of this triangle kimbap. Not only for flavor and convenience but for portion control. I think I will buy a kit the next time I'm at the store, or online if my store doesn't have it. Thanks.

  • Wow :D I like the kit, it's so cool ^_^ & I like how on the outside there are Korean letters then once you open it the seaweed has Japanese letters lol I love this:)

  • Hi Aeris! I love these and was so happy that you showed us how to make them. I was so lucky to find the individually packaged seaweed but it did not come with the 'plastic forming tool' do you know of any internet sites that sell it?

  • @raininghard

if you are in USA.. check "hmart" they sell the kit for this. thanks

  • Loved it an i just turned 16 and does seaweed taste good? And also can u make a shrimp fried rice with that yummy shrimp sause?

  • @bleachlover551

Congratulations :) I hope you had a great birthday. If you never tried seaweed.. it's hard to describe the taste. some people love it..and some people hate it.. so it will be depends on your taste. I will add your request in my list.. btw.. what shrimp sauce do you mean? thanks

  • THANK YOU SO MUCHHH

  • 언니~ ^^ can i use sushi seaweed paper? i afraid i can't found korean seaweed paper in my country...if i don't use the plastic will it have a different taste?

  • @greyid

I usually use Korean brand dried roasted seaweed for kimbap..so I'm not that familiar with sushi seaweed.. However, I think, it will work, so try it. ^^ the plastic part is for wrapping not taste.. so you can just make the rice triangle shape or other shapes you want..and cover it with seaweed. ^^ thanks

  • i saw such Triangle Kimbap once in japan with super junior on it x3

  • Your son is so cute

  • i go to korea next year. can i live in your house?

  • Awwww! I see a Bryson head! x]

I've always wondered where those people got those sheets of seaweed with the plastic! Now I don't have to buy prepared Tuna triangle kimbap (: Thank you Aeri!

Also: So much HATE in the comments. Jeez guys, a certain type of food is not restricted to one state. Food should be enjoyed and shared, not fought about or over. Just because you know that one culture consumes a certain type of food a certain way, does not mean another cannot do the same.

  • Absolutely shocked at the vile comment made by beretanian below. For hundreds of years since Chosun dynasty Koreans consumed dried seaweed and their main food is rice. In old days they packed riceballs with them during the journey. I bet it's same for the Japanese since their main food is same kind of round rice as Koreans. That certainly doesn't mean they stole from each other It's just natural process. BTW, how many people know mayonaise originate from County Mayo in Ireland??

  • @135853154321

Do you mean that the Korean ancient "dried seaweed" is the Japanese NORI?

We Japanese hear that our NORI SHEET was invented in Asakusa, Edo (contemporary Tokyo), in the Edo period through the method of Japanese PAPER-MAKING which is called WASHI.

And around 1910, "Japanese Governor-General of Korea" brought NORI making specialists to Korea from Japan to teach Koreans how to make NORI SHEET.

  • @nippononna

Koreans call dried seaweed sheet Gim after Kim Yeoik from Joseon dynasty who cultivated Gim.

There's also a link in Wikipedia for Gim(food).

  • Yummy. Thank you

  • soooo goood! :D

  • his recipee reminds me of onigiri (japanese rice balls) i need to try this :)

  • lol I was so confused at the beginning because I was wondering about the plastic around the wrap lol and then finally you showed that the plastic peels off and it all made sense! lol Thanks for the video!

  • At 4:54 what is that black thing going across the screen under the table? do you have a cat or a dog?

  • @drsnowmon

  • Omgg my Korean friend used to always have this for lunch and I've always wanted to make this thankyou so much for this video ! -3

  • I hope i can find that triangular tool to make this. Thanks aeri for another cool recipe. Have a nice weekend!

  • koreans doing what they do best, taking stuff from others and claim its theirs

  • @TheSuper112233

Yeah, I see, you prolly are one of those 3 haters out dere, wondering why that Sushi looking dish's called Gimbap.

Be more specific of your point; but in case you were mistaking Gimbap as Sushi, then know that Asians can distinguish sandwich and burger - why can't u?

don't u know that both kimchi and gimbap are origin to Koreans?

Go look up on Google, if you lack East Asian history or w/e.

  • How much was the kit?

  • @Agunez93

sorry I can't remember exactly... but I guess it was 5 dollar something as a kit. if you just buy refilling (only dried seaweed but not the plastic tool..) it's cheaper than that..

  • Probably asked before...

Where can i get the plastic triangular tool..ehhh.."thing" and those nori ( ?) sheets to make these ?

Online that is, can´t get them where i live ( Sweden ).

  • @nickesteen

I got it from a Korean grocery store.. I hope you have some over there..

  • Aeris can you show me how to make jjang jjang myun??? :D

  • @goodsinister if you look in her videos... she already made the jjang jjang myun (with black bean paste) sauce to make a dish with rice I think. I suppose that you only have to follow the instructions to make the sauce and add it to pasta instead of rice :)

  • @pil4r

Thanks for your reply. :) sweet ~~~ hehe

  • @aeriskitchen hehe you're welcome aeri! ^^

  • so cute! rawr rawwrr!

  • ooo wow!! thank You so much for this video!! I hope to make it. Last time I used to eat often for my breakfast or lunch^^ my favourite was the bulgogi taste^^

  • Do you know any website that I can buy this 'kimbap making set'?

  • @Joannie1288

"hmart" sell this... go to hmart site..and research "삼각 김밥" .. you can just copy and paste it.. ^^

  • i made this before.. i didn't noticed the line on the triangle.. i want to make this again~~ im hungry

  • aww that was a cute monster noise.

  • I love your recipes! They are yummy and healthy at the same time.

Does your son eat these or do you make him something else for him? I have a daughter close to his age, so I wonder if she will be able to eat it.

I would love to see child friendly recipes! It is a challenge to keep coming up with new ideas on what to cook for lunch and dinner. :o)

Thank you very much for this video!

  • @aquia80

Until recently, we fed him food without any salt and sugar.. I made his baby food... yes I can understand how you feel about preparing different kinds of baby food for your child..since both nutrition and good taste are important for her.. I slowly introduce him.. the food we are eating (still not too salty or spicy or sweet food..) I gave him..a little bit of kimchi tuna.. he loved it.. maybe for your daughter.. just add some finely chopped and fried vegetables in the center.. ^^

  • OOO It looks so easy now that I know you can buy the kits. It's just like おにぎり (Onigiri) which is the same thing but Japanese and I love those! I can't wait to try and make some :D

  • Hi can you please tell me how to make those yummy salad that they eat with Kalbi, and also the spicy octopus dishes! I love your channel!! I tried the stew fished dish one and it was awesome!!

  • @FOJang

sorry.. can you tell me a little more detail about the salad you like ??? what it has in it ?? thanks

  • @aeriskitchen dear Aeri, it has onion, some thinly slide carrots, lettuce, and a red pepper flake, garlic, green onion, soy sauce and sesame sauce. It was served with Kalbi in the restaurant. I tried to made them once before and it taste ok, but I want to know if you know how to make them since your recipe always so good. Thank you so much!! P/s: your son is so cute!!

  • Who was that behind you at 4:53-5:01 ?

  • @MyYummycookie hehe..it was my son ^^

  • @angelakinney76

oh.. your daughter will be very happy.. ^^ thanks

  • When I saw you putting the rice on the seaweed and plastic wrap, the entire rest of the video I was stressing about how you're supposed to eat it with the plastic on.

thank God, you showed how to unpeel it. I was about to go Google it and see if it was edible plastic or if the seaweed was just used for freshness.

  • @Rogue2507

lol Your comment made me laugh...and yes I can understand how you felt... I could explain about the plastic wrap better before I use it in this video..anyway.. hehe thanks :)

  • Teehee! I can hear your cute baby~ X# So adorable~ Thank you for showing this! I will try it out soon!

  • uwahhh i hope our conv store sell that too T^T....

  • @MrJingjong

Oh.. I remember that your son was cooking in your video..hehe all your kids are so cute, especially your daughter.. thanks :)

  • I never knew you could get kits like this

  • I love this video. I have thought about making some voice over videos. What microphone do you use?

    pinkmacprincess

  • @pinkmacprincess

I recored the video first..and did editing and recording voice with my imovie program (on my mac..ilife software) ^^

  • This reminds me of cooking mama!

  • LOL RAWR RAWR in the bloopers XD so cute~ the best thing about these packages is the unwrapping haha..it's so cool how it just comes together...and into your stomach =P

  • Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, I was wondering where you got your kimbap making kit? I live in the UK and can't seem to find it anywhere :(

    Joannie

  • @Joannie1288

I got it from a Korean grocery store in America..

  • i wanna try it today...look so yummy

  • I do wonder what sound it is XD

  • those plastic wraps are genius inventions! seperates rice from seaweed but yet when you open them, the plastic on the inside doesn't get all tangled and comes off!

  • 이렇게 만드는구나.. ^ ^

  • This is a Japanese "onigiri" sold in a convenient store.

  • @beretanian

    Onigiri is not the same

  • @drsnowmon you stole onigiri and localize it.

  • @beretanian

Food culture is not defined as stolen when it mends with another food culture you idiot, it becomes accustomed to their own culture. Are you going to say Yaki Niku is stolen from Korea? Pizza is stolen from Italy to America? Ramen is stolen from China to Japan?

In fact if you know your history, the "idea of ball" of rice has been taken from Korea from the Japanese in the early 1930's and Japanese people localized when they took it back to their country and called it "onigiri"

  • @drsnowmon

Koreans are so stupid and subuhumans end of the story Don't stalk me pleanse, chousenjin.

  • @beretanian

That's why Japs are hated by all of Asia except your island friend Taiwan, jap monkeys. I hope you people eat well and grow taller and bigger dick, it looks like radiation is effecting your brain already.

  • @drsnowmon

    だから糞食って死ねよ、キチガイ朝鮮人 だから世界中から嫌われるんだよ、クソ朝鮮人www

  • @beretanian

what's wrong? you ate too much radiation affected fish?

  • looksss gooooooodddd!!!!

  • Oh..nvm ;)

  • i can see TONS of combinations with this! totally will do this!

  • Wait..so what happens to plastic wrap in the seaweed cover? Isnt it suppose to cover just the outside?

  • @scoza

When you are about to eat the kimbap, you open on the instructed line and you carefully remove the plastic inside and outside, the plastic inside keeps the seaweed from getting soggy from the rice.

  • awww. bryson is lucky to have you as a mommy and your husband is lucky to have you as a wife :D

  • omg!! i want the kimbap kit!!! ><

  • can you post the name of the kit?

  • @OohSoVina1988

the brand name was written in Chinese letters.. we read "MyungGa (명가)" in Korean. You can ask "triangle kimbap kit" or "samgak kimbap kit" in a Korean grocery store.

  • I'm going to make this tomorrow.

  • looks so good..im going to make it!!
