GSP is one of the most calm and coolest fighters to talk to while doing in interview. But as soon as the fight with AS question comes up, he starts stuttering and head jerkin like a mother fucker. Jon Fitch fought at 205, and GSP rag dolled him. So I don't wanna hear no horseshit about how he's too small. I respect GSP as a fighter, and I don't blame him for not wanting to fighter Silva. He's content with being the best at 170 and there's nothing wrong with that.
@easternhero255 lol. this fight will probably never happen, and there's a lot of dangerous threats to both of them so they could lose. sonnen is a big threat to silva's reign.
@mmadigest couldn't have said it better... sonnen poses a huge threat to silva regardless the internet "fan boy" hype. and the GSP super will never happen. both of them are to worried about losing so it wont happen.
@easternhero255 If i was in those guys situation i wouldn't accept the fight. GSP vs AS isn't just a fight, both of them wanna go down as number 1 and noone of them wants to lose. They have too much to lose in that fight

most of you losers want silva to lose simply because his skin is dark..yeah who the fuck doesnt taunt if they are as good as he is..hes afro brazilian and it burns the lil pussy bigots up..gsp knws he cant be silva..hes alot younger and that would solely be the reason he beat slva but age wont save him..so kill dat shit..SILVA IS KING..peiod..ask anybody thats fair and not racist..
I think both GSP and Silva are not happy to fight each other. They are both riding high on fame and with that come fortune. Whoever lost would lose a lot of money imo. It would be great for the fans, but bad for the loser.
I do think that GSP would be an excellent challenge for Silva, but you have to remember that its really all in Silvas favour due to natural size.
There were a couple of guys that made a good showing against Silva, and I'd like to see them fight again. Silva can be beat. I think people just have to be fast and alert enough to not get knocked out by him. Tag him hard a couple of times and take him to the ground. It can be done and I'm surprised that it has not happened already. I'd love to see GSP do it but I don't know if that will happen.
GSP made a good point about Silva holding a MMA record at WW so why dose everyone say George is scared and George has only fought as WW and he has a more stacked division with guys still to take out. Silva has NEVER fought a top 10 P4P fighter, even when moving up for "superfights". GSP holds 5 wins over fighters ranked top 10 P4P when fighting George...so tell me again which is scared of this fight happening?
@sm0keyMcP0t420 Silva is afraid of GSP or else he would meet him at catchweight. He refuses to go to 170 or even at catchweight. GSP agreed to go to catchweight, but for some reason, the UFC isnt pushing this fight. Silva is definately afraid of GSP.
Actually all of you guys that say Silva will do this and that to GSP are idiots. You can assume all you want, but until we see them fight, noone knows SHIT. They are both long standing champs in their divisions and GSP's division has a lot more competition, hands down. Silva has milked an easy division lets face it, I'm not saying he is not one of the greatest, just sayin' half of you guys clearly don't see that he is a weight class with not a whole lot of heat coming for him.
if gsp wants to be the greatest, he still would need to fight bj penn again, because it was a catchweight fight and bj penn wasnt at 170. bj vs gsp 3 needs to happen. i dont think bj penn would have his vengance. also, gsp said he lost when he changed classesand he wont do it again. hes scared he will lose if he changes classes. thats not characteristic of a champion. grow some balls gsp!!!
OK so heres the deal.....Technique wise, I think GSP and Silva would be a good fight, but the size difference is what makes it uneven. GSP would be a small 185, and Silva can bump up to 205 anytime he wants to....thats the difference. End of discussion......
GSP will wear down silva just like Chael Sonnen did but much worse.. No one can beat GSP with 20 lbs of his weight class. P4P best fighter.. Been dominating his weight class longer than anyone else in their own.. Hasn't even had a close fight in years.. Guys a machine..
i think gsp was born to fight in the weight class he is in right now, nobody can beat him on that weight and thats what matters, anderson silva is too big for him, wouldnt be fare.
nick Diaz was the only one i thought that would be a fair fight....maybe dan hardy if he gets a good sprawl trainer....gsp is not a striker nor a ground fighter ...hes a good wrestler and stalls a lot...I agree Silva would demolish him...too bad Nick Diaz and ufc couldnt figuer something out
@DoubleFeo gsp doesn't stall alot. lol wtf, you call jabbing constantly stalling? and his ground and pound is top caliber. I disagree with you completely. But silva would win i think.
@nbtyuiop well okay that is true he do got a nice jab...his ground and pound he hasnt wow me yet ....well he hasnt impress me for a long while which is unfair cause when silva get 1 or 2 fights that goes the distance every one started complaining that silva needs to get back on his game ....which he totally destroyed forest after that earning thee fans respect again...i like gsp....but he needs to either go up in weight for a challenge like silva did or start finishing fights
@DoubleFeo GSP not a striker or a ground fighter????? LMAO. He is a 3rd degee black belt in karate and a BJJ black belt who trains with Roger Gracie. You really have no idea what your talking about do you? Go watch tennis or swimming.
GSP: "i want to retire on top. I want to be the greatest."
dumbass canadian. you have to BEAT the best to BE the best. unless you fight anderson silva, you will never be the best or be "on top."
and as for you mixbreedking, youre on crack. gsp couldnt beat silva if he took a bath in vaseline, and got together with sonnen n sherk and juiced before the fight.
@facenda21 So now fighters have to move around weight divisions to prove themselves? when he says he wants to be the greatest he means at WW, did Ali drop down to Cruiser to prove himself? no he knew his niche and cleaned up, many fighters have gone up and down weight classes and they are what you call P4P greats which is what Anderson Silva is. Anderson himself rates GSP as one of the best in the entire sport of MMA and so do most other fighters. My 2 favourite fighters.
@BoricuaAltaHueso787 Silva dominates at 185. Nobody comes close plus Silva has easily knocked out both opponents he faced at 205 so why should GSP face him? GSP said he would face ANYBODY Dana threw at him as long as he had time to get used to training and fighting at a heavier weight. GSP would be fighting the reigning champ at a heavier weight class. Silva wouldn't be taking much of a risk fighting a naturally smaller opponent. Should Jon Jones fight Do Santos now? Are you stupid?
@BoricuaAltaHueso787 i dont think hes scared i think hes just gotta make a big career decision to move up 15 lbs to fight the biggest fight of his life, its a big decision.
He's not scared..he's moving up a whole weight class. Why not just stay where you're king? Same goes with anderson moving up to fight jones. He can't because the weight difference is huge when you consider cutting. And to add on, anderson isn't a small middleweight and GSP considered light weight at one point. Whoever leaves their weight class is at a huge disadvantage. Nobody is scared, now shut up.
silvia nuthuggers... GSP vs silvia should never happen.. anyone remember roy jones jr moving up in weight for good... bad career move.. GSP is the better skilled fighter sorry to all you silvia freaks its the truth.. silvia weighs a lot more than GSP walking around plain fact... a good 30 pounds at time of a fight is a good amount that can supress a good portion of skill... its a fact....
lmfao the bald guy right by gsp at 6:45 keeps trying to ask a question and people keep beating him to it and he eventually just interrupts him to ask the most retarded question
He couldnt finish a one eyed koscheck, couldnt finish hardy who has shitty ground game and failed to even do damage to shields and people think his the man to beat silva, anderson silva will murder gsp and from watching all of gsp interview its obvious to see that he wants no part of silva, cause he knows silva will destroy him
I think its funny that people say GSP fights not to lose.... I watched a bunch of Silva fights where he did nothing because he didnt want to lose and just let it go to decision. GSP atleast goes in and fights. Yes he may think of what will give him and advantage and stays to that. Thats better then dancing because hes to afraid to go in and hit someone.
@Entriken133 I don't think anyone is saying Silva hasn't been in boring fights (mainly the ones where he fought very non-aggressive fighters and him being a counter-striker). The difference is that GSP can't finish fights anymore, whereas Silva can and will do it when he wants to. GSP has been saying for his last three fights that he wanted to finish his opponents but he has failed to do so. If he fights Diaz I doubt he will finish that either because of Diaz's iron chin and durability.
Thats a stupid comment. Anderson had one fight where he really danced around and didnt fight, which was damien mia. Now, go watch that fight and come back and say anderson was "AFRAID" to hit him....lol
Silva will smack gsp around all day. Bottom line. And I LOVE gsp,but Silva is on another level. Give Jon Jones about another year, then let him fight silva,HE is the only one I see challenging SIlva with a real shot of winning
@4amninja wait a minuet now.gsp has something silva has a disadvantage at,and thats the ground game.look at how bad sonnen was demolishing silva on the ground, and in my opinion gsp is 10x the fighter sonnen is,plus gsp has a betterstand up game than sonnen which could give gsp a advantage in mixing things up with silva.i dont think silva has fought anyone remotely close to the style gsp has.but if ufc has shown anything thats anything can happen.so until it happens we cant say anything
@4amninja dude get off his nut's (Silva) if he is soooo much on another level way wont silva move up in class and fight some big , better , then the washed up loser's he's been fighting .. i think silva is a pussy, and over rated, he walks around at least at 22-0 and cutts to go to middle then way not just move up ... cause he's a pussy lmfao.. fuck silva and Steven fucking Seagal,, there both fucking pussy's
@MrMendozis And you should not be commenting on MMA as you obviously no fuck all, most fighters and all authorities on the sport have Silva in the top 3 P4P fighters on the planet that top 3 including GSP and Jose Aldo and I agree completely, the order of those three on the other hand is debateable, yet you seem to know more than all those people combined. What happened both times Silva moved up to LHW? LOL Irvin was even juicing and Silva knocked him the fuck out.
@FlyingArmBarU I lke the way you think lol tell me what you think about this I think there both top 2 p4p and anderson will be able to crush more people but GSP is made to beat anderson by dec its just how it is
@Kronos360360 I really don't think GSP would beat him, if he could keep Anderson on the ground then possibly but we saw what Silva is capable of pulling out of the bag after 4 tough rounds agains a top level wrestler like Chael Sonnen and we also saw Jake Shields land a lot of strikes on GSP so I have to give it to Anderson Silva whichever weight they fight at. I am a huge fan of them both equally but I have to be realistic about it.
@FlyingArmBarU I can see why you think that if silva wins its gonna be a KO. but dude i would be shocked if he subbed gsp there both badasses I just think Gsp is has more of an advantage in the wrestling/scrambling then silva has in the striking
@Kronos360360 That is not strictly true, Silva is a black belt in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so it would be unfair to give GSP much of an advantage on the ground if any, because of Siva's dominance over most fighters on his feet people ignore his ground game, I am not saying that Silva would sub him but I would not count it out altogether. GSP would have to move up weight classes that is how it works and he would lose a lot of that fast twitch explosiveness in the weight gain.
@Kronos360360 Which he would need every bit of to live with Silva, it usually takes a fighter a few fights to adjust to a different weight class and that is a situation you don't want to find yourself in with a fighter of Silva's class. Bottom line is Silva is the better fighter hands down, he has a style that cannot be emulated by training partners particularly with respects to unpredictability, whereas there are plenty of explosive wrestlers for Silva to role with, plus Silva is a finisher.
@MrMendozis Go on share your wisdom with us one more time and tell us who all these fighters are at LHW who would present a problem to Anderson Silva. Or maybe he should move up and fight Brock Lesnar or Cain Velasquez or maybe even JDS at HW LOOL people like you crack me the fuck up, go back to watching smackdown as you are completely out of touch with reality when it comes to MMA.
@4amninja i with u on that gsp is king of 170 but move up to fight silva is a no no silva is too big too long so i dont see gsp fighting silva.jon n silva bad ass fight though.
@4amninja silva will get his salad tossed. sonnen wooped silva up and down and got lucky at the end and sonnen would get wooped on by gsp. silva and his taunts are gonna catch up to him and he is gonna get knocked out one day.
@Snipefest23 ur a faggot..taunting does not take away from fighting ability..if done in timely fashion like silva does it..u want him to lose cuz hes dark skinned im sure..go ahead now do you pyschology dance around why ur not racist and he just isnt as good as GSP lol..get the fuck out of here..you pale kids now a days are pussies..wont even own up to being racist anymore..lol...SILVA IS THE BEST>>im proud of that
@upperechelon20 ya. how do you even know im white you stupid bitch. silva should get a rematch with sonnen so i can watch him get pummelled again. silva is a great fighter i just think GSP can take him out. and im not racist, i have a colored tv.
It should be a superfight (no belt on the line). Silva should lose weight but not too much. That would be one of the most anticipated fights in UFC and MMA history.
Yeah I remembered when I fought Jake shields I taped em out with a fart to the face and when I dominated Velasquez at 8 grade thanks to the 5 hour energy and my uncle is Tom from myspace
How can anyone hate GSP? He is not only a good fighter, but he is honest and respectful to his opponents and his fans.Amazing fighter and i'm looking forwards to seeing him face Jake Shields.
idiots saying "why should spider move down in weight?" why? because he has been down to lower weights and he has fought at lower weights! GSP is a solid welterweight. it's not easy going up in weight to fight. It's a lot easier to go down in weight, because u are much stronger than everyone in that weight class. For example, i used to fight at LHW, moved to MW and DOMINATED, now, I plan to fight at welterweight. The opponents will be faster, but i will have strength coming from a heavier weight.
Why should there be a super fight? GSP looks superb at his weight and Silva is dominant at his. The only reason fighters go outside their weight in boxing is they outgrow their size or there are no fighters to fight. When one asks a fighter to leave their natural weight they are immediately doing it at a disadvantage. If Silva comes down to GSP's weight he is at a disadvantage and likewise for GSp moving up in weight. I say forget it. Let them holds their title in their own weight.
Holding two titles not going to be easy. GSP is fine where he is at same for Anderson Silva. It will be a disadvantage to either one that makes a move going up or moving down.
@Blabla3777 It would be hard for GSP to actually go up at his height. The same for Anderson Silva. I don't know how is this going to possibly work out!?!?!?!!?
@Blabla3777 why should GSP move up? first off, GSP has already said he would move up to 185 if he wins the Shields fight. The Welterweight division is 10x the division the Middleweight division is, Why should GSP leave one of the hardest division to join a way less talented division to fight one guy? GSP has said if he goes up hes staying up, so if he beats Silva (and he will), theres NO NO NO NO NO NO chance anyone in that division will come close to him.
@Synetik4 lol mate mw is way more stack then ww gsp will get eat up by the spider i can think of 3 mw that will beat up gsp stop talking shit hes clean out ww andy clean out mw so once andy beat gsp its bones jones time but u keep talking
@mrbadman51 thats fine everyone has their opinion. i find MW to be a bunch of jokes personally, The diference between Silva and GSP is, GSP hasn't lost ONE round since he's been champion, not something your boy Silva could say. *Cough Sonnen Cough"...
@wilknight12345 it doesnt make you any stronger, it boosts muscle mass (which in most ways is a negative effect to your fighting skills) and it increses aggression, a.k.a "roid rage"
@Synetik4 Well technically provided your eating a surplus of calories &/or training correctly, anabolic steroids will boost strength considerably perhaps not necessarily via muscle mass but this does help but also because it allows quicker recovery times between training sessions and therefore quicker improvement. However that being said strength is not the be-all end-all of MMA, see example Lesnar vs. Velasquez.
@Synetik4 GSP has a completely different style then Silva. Comparing the rounds fought in and won is pointless because they are different fighters. GSP goes in to the octagon to impose his will and dictate the pace at all times whereas Silva goes into knock there heads off or secure a submission. One style requires the fighter to take chances whereas the other one doesn't.
@mrbadman51 And when is Bisping gonna get a chance at Silva? like wtf, 21-3 and is one of the only top MW who hasn't gotten a chance at him, They keep throwing all these fighters against Silva who have no chance. Look at the top 5 middleweight rankings and tell me one of them has a good enough record to even fight for the belt other than Okami who looks like he will never get a shot at him either.
@mrbadman51 And one more thing, Silva hasn't fought anyone in a long time who has more than one specialty, Maia = submission, Belfort = Striking, Sonnen = Striking, Griffin = Striking. Like c'mon, atleast GSP faces mixte martial artists, Silva won't know how to handle GSP because he's arguably the best at every single aspect. the only advantage Silva has on GSP is his Muay Thai, which won't make a diference with GSP's lightning fast takedowns, i'm more worried about Shields than Silva
@Synetik4 ok first of all cheal is a wrestler so yeah but anyway gsp has done the same thing plz name me a fighter who gsp as face that is a so call mix martial artists to be honest they r only a few fighters that r mix martial artists gsp will get handle by silva he has become so dangerous because he has amazing stand up and really good bjj and has move up in weigh dont mean to be rude but i think your a dumbfuck if your worried about Shields than Silva that is all
@AznboiY2J I don't think so. GSP still has better conditioning and athleticism than both fighters. Plus GSP is younger than both fighters by a good 5 years. GSP can beat Ander Silva wrestling. Unlike Sonnen, GSP has very good BJJ. GSP can succeeed where Sonnen failed.
@Uppercut416 Yeah but that completely different fighting styles. GSP seems to be creeping into a purely technical game plan with little to no aggression or intention of pushing the pace. Sonnen, even though his BJJ defense is poor, is a fighter who doesn't seem to be afraid of anyone and is extremely aggressive. GSP on the other hand, well, seems a bit like a limp dick after the show he put on against Shields. I am really disappointed in him. He seems like he is afraid to lose.
@trehansen I agree GSP is reluctant to take any calculated risks. He knows that he can get KOed in a blink. It seems like he fights not to lose. I'm a huge GSP fan, but his fight with Sheilds was a big dissapointment. Silva has shown weaknesses against wrestlers. Go back to the henderson & Sonnen fights. Unlike them, GSP has stellar submission defense. As long as GSP can secure the takedown exert ground control, & avoid submissions, he'll get the boring 5 round decision.
@Uppercut416 GSP has never fought a fighter as long or as tall as Silva, not to mention someone as slick with submissions. Length has a lot to do with it. Silva and Griffin, both very long fighters, submitted Sonnen with a triangle. I would agree that GSP has the distinctive advantage against smaller or equal size opponents, but all that goes out the door against someone as big as Silva.
Also, I don't think Hendo has ever been submitted outside of Silva, and GSP was submitted by Hughes.
@xXCUBEZEROXx I never said he would sub him because of it, I said it would be a factor. The same reason that Fedor was caught in a triangle by Verdum, who is long as well. Long and tall fighters have an advantage in leverage and can pull off submissions that smaller fighters cannot.
@Synetik4 You raise a good point about the WW division being deeper than the MW. However, I would argue that is because a lot of the WW fighters are afraid to move up and fight Silva, who is a huge MW. Alves, GSP, Fitch, and Shields are all really big WWs and would easily be able to move up in weight. I think they are all scared though. Even GSP said in a radio interview complaining about how big Silva is, and he didn't seem too enthusiastic about it after the Shields fight either
@trehansen Well Shields fought alot of fights in MW back in Strikeforce. None of those guys want to move up to MW because GSP is so close to moving up that when he does the belt is gonna be up for grabs. It's also not all their choice to move up, theres always number 1 contenders you gotta work around. The fight was almost official before White had to give Okami his chance. It will happen eventually. I'm sure fighting for the number 1 P4P in the world is stressful as fuck no matter who you are.
@Synetik4 If and when the two fight (granted silva beats Okami) Silva will destroy gsp on the feet: Silva wins by KO. The fight most likely wouldn't even go to the ground. Gsp will not be the dominant fighter at middleweight everyone has seen at welterweight, simply because he will not be as quick (packing on weight) and he will not be as naturally strong as the rest of the division of guys who drop from 200+ lbs to make weight at 185... In all seriousness the fight shouldn't even happen imo.
@Synetik4 LOOOOOL GSP has fought multiple guys in his division twice! Hughes 3x, Penn 2x, Serra 2x, Koscheck 2x. And Guess who is number 1 contender...jon fitch who he also fought. So if the welterweight is so good why does he never have new competition? And don't even mention hardy, that was a joke contender and should of been an easy finish for GSP. Anderson is A LEGEND...GSP has done nothing to even compare...
@React24 hughes, penn, serra. all historic UFC fighter. He's also beat Alves and Fitch, who both are amazing fighters, Koschek is also a top contender. Now he's beat shields who was undoudtedly the second best welterweight in the world. among others. Silva cleaned out the weskest dividion in UFC. Only 3 of the fighters he's fought have strong records. and one of them beat him (Okami). Joe Silva keeps throwing mediocre fighters Andersons way. Once Silva has an actual test he wont know what to do
@Synetik4 OKAMI DID NOT BEAT HIM! ANDERSON KO"D HIM FROM HIS BACK!!!! It was considered a down oppenet tho. AND SHEILDS was not ranked number 2. Fitch was on almost every top 10 welterweight website as number 2. SIlva has also moved up twice to fight bigger guys. Like get real bud how can you say silva is not better when HE HAS NEVER LOST IN THE UFC! Suddenly all of GSP oppenets are so great and andersons are shit? lol stop dick riding GSP and realize we are witnessing the greatest fighter ever!
@React24 im not saying he's not? what im saying both fighters are easily p4p best in the world, and until they fight its all up for debate, they all have long lists of accomplishments, but in my mind, GSP fought way more well rounded guys, Silva is phenominal, but i cant even name the last real challenge hes actually had, and you were more than likely looking at UFC welterweights. Jon Fitch was the second best when Shields was in strikeforce. They are also up for debate for #2 welterweight
@React24 A win is a win in MMA as in any other sport, it doesnt matter if you win by 1 or 1000. Look at Maynard vs Edgar 2, nobody remembers that round 1 should have been a 10-8 round and Maynard should have won, all people remember is that it was a draw. I can turn that back around you and say SILVA DID NOT BEAT SONNEN! Sure Silva has the victory but on an overall standpoint, Silva lost by a mile and you know that, but then again, Silva won fair and square by the rules of MMA, as did Okami.
@Synetik4 LOOOOL K this argument is over. Maynard did get 10-8 in the frist round...do you even follow MMA or just say what comes to your mind. Also silva spent the entire fight trying to submit sonnen after his comments on the nogeuiras. Its the only time hes ever worn his Gi out to a UFC fight and he catches him in the 5th round after taking the most punches ever in a UFC fight. GSP has tapped from punches lol SIlva is a legend...Convo over cuz u obv lack an understanding of the sport
@Synetik4 Not to mention comapring an epic DQ loss to an even more epic 5th round submission (only 3rd 5th rd stoppage in UFC history) and saying they are both fair wins is RETARDED!
@Synetik4 Like the fact you actually are trying to argue stats and you already have 2 wrong, in terms of comment fighting this is pretty much over lol
@Synetik4 Also he tapped from punches and tapped with 1 second left in the round...Anderson has taken the most punches in a UFC fight and still won it in the 5th round...one of only 3 men to ever do so. ANDERSON IS GOD!
@Synetik4 First of all theres no way gsp is going to beat silva. The only way gsp could win is by decision from takedowns. And thats if he can take silva down without getting knocked out or submitted. Secondly there are people at 185 who could challenge gsp. You have to understand he will be fighting bigger stronger guys than hes used to.
@Synetik4 haha he could never beat Silva. Doe he wanna to wait untill Silva's last fight or what? he's 30 and Silva is already 36! GSP is the offspring of a chicken and a duck. The Lay n Pray Champ is great good but he isn't a warriors who goes into fights with broken ribs and wins 5th round comebacks like John Elway. never been KOed either like GSP, moved up just to test his skills against a top guy and made him look foolish. if GSP was that great he'da moved up long ago vs belfort sonnen etc
@Synetik4 the truth is GSP couldn't beat any top MW Damian Maya would whoop his ass over powering him with BJJ, Sonnen would kill him, Munoz, Belfort etc. any top contender at MW would smash GSP at MW. he doesn't have the strength or the height.
@Synetik4: GSP uses the judges to win. He doesn't beat/finish guys. He scores points to get the decision W. Anderson DESTROYS anyone they put in front of him. He makes other "professional MMA fighters" look like civilians.

I do think that GSP would be an excellent challenge for Silva, but you have to remember that its really all in Silvas favour due to natural size.
I would be hoping GSP wins, but not sure he would

Silva is definately afraid of GSP.
vulcanman64 6 months ago
Actually all of you guys that say Silva will do this and that to GSP are idiots. You can assume all you want, but until we see them fight, noone knows SHIT. They are both long standing champs in their divisions and GSP's division has a lot more competition, hands down. Silva has milked an easy division lets face it, I'm not saying he is not one of the greatest, just sayin' half of you guys clearly don't see that he is a weight class with not a whole lot of heat coming for him.
codezlol 6 months ago
@codezlol wanderlei silva, marquardt (sp), okami, leben, akiyama, maia, letes...
brettmonbeck 6 months ago
if gsp wants to be the greatest, he still would need to fight bj penn again, because it was a catchweight fight and bj penn wasnt at 170. bj vs gsp 3 needs to happen. i dont think bj penn would have his vengance. also, gsp said he lost when he changed classesand he wont do it again. hes scared he will lose if he changes classes. thats not characteristic of a champion. grow some balls gsp!!!
facenda21 7 months ago
OK so heres the deal.....Technique wise, I think GSP and Silva would be a good fight, but the size difference is what makes it uneven. GSP would be a small 185, and Silva can bump up to 205 anytime he wants to....thats the difference. End of discussion......
knightsnumber22 7 months ago
Silva vs Jon Jone would be a better fight for Silva. Jone has what it takes to stand up with him or beat him on the ground.
Farhan917 7 months ago
GSP will wear down silva just like Chael Sonnen did but much worse.. No one can beat GSP with 20 lbs of his weight class. P4P best fighter.. Been dominating his weight class longer than anyone else in their own.. Hasn't even had a close fight in years.. Guys a machine..
GoldR33 7 months ago
i think gsp was born to fight in the weight class he is in right now, nobody can beat him on that weight and thats what matters, anderson silva is too big for him, wouldnt be fare.
petelebu 7 months ago
@petelebu
nick Diaz was the only one i thought that would be a fair fight....maybe dan hardy if he gets a good sprawl trainer....gsp is not a striker nor a ground fighter ...hes a good wrestler and stalls a lot...I agree Silva would demolish him...too bad Nick Diaz and ufc couldnt figuer something out
DoubleFeo 7 months ago
@DoubleFeo gsp doesn't stall alot. lol wtf, you call jabbing constantly stalling? and his ground and pound is top caliber. I disagree with you completely. But silva would win i think.
nbtyuiop 7 months ago
@nbtyuiop well okay that is true he do got a nice jab...his ground and pound he hasnt wow me yet ....well he hasnt impress me for a long while which is unfair cause when silva get 1 or 2 fights that goes the distance every one started complaining that silva needs to get back on his game ....which he totally destroyed forest after that earning thee fans respect again...i like gsp....but he needs to either go up in weight for a challenge like silva did or start finishing fights
DoubleFeo 7 months ago
@DoubleFeo GSP not a striker or a ground fighter????? LMAO. He is a 3rd degee black belt in karate and a BJJ black belt who trains with Roger Gracie. You really have no idea what your talking about do you? Go watch tennis or swimming.

ForsakenedPain 7 months ago
@facenda21 So now fighters have to move around weight divisions to prove themselves? when he says he wants to be the greatest he means at WW, did Ali drop down to Cruiser to prove himself? no he knew his niche and cleaned up, many fighters have gone up and down weight classes and they are what you call P4P greats which is what Anderson Silva is. Anderson himself rates GSP as one of the best in the entire sport of MMA and so do most other fighters. My 2 favourite fighters.

GSP is scared of Anderson Silva. Ask Anderson Silva the same question and see how he answers.
BoricuaAltaHueso787 8 months ago 13
@BoricuaAltaHueso787 Silva dominates at 185. Nobody comes close plus Silva has easily knocked out both opponents he faced at 205 so why should GSP face him? GSP said he would face ANYBODY Dana threw at him as long as he had time to get used to training and fighting at a heavier weight. GSP would be fighting the reigning champ at a heavier weight class. Silva wouldn't be taking much of a risk fighting a naturally smaller opponent. Should Jon Jones fight Do Santos now? Are you stupid?
miggs80 5 months ago
@BoricuaAltaHueso787 i dont think hes scared i think hes just gotta make a big career decision to move up 15 lbs to fight the biggest fight of his life, its a big decision.
gatoralley01 4 months ago
@BoricuaAltaHueso787
Nobody is scared, now shut up.

vono126 10 months ago
I think its funny that people say GSP fights not to lose.... I watched a bunch of Silva fights where he did nothing because he didnt want to lose and just let it go to decision. GSP atleast goes in and fights. Yes he may think of what will give him and advantage and stays to that. Thats better then dancing because hes to afraid to go in and hit someone.

@Entriken133 there is so many things wrong with your statement
mrbadman51 10 months ago
@Entriken133 I don't think anyone is saying Silva hasn't been in boring fights (mainly the ones where he fought very non-aggressive fighters and him being a counter-striker). The difference is that GSP can't finish fights anymore, whereas Silva can and will do it when he wants to. GSP has been saying for his last three fights that he wanted to finish his opponents but he has failed to do so. If he fights Diaz I doubt he will finish that either because of Diaz's iron chin and durability.
trehansen 10 months ago

MrMendozis 7 months ago
@MrMendozis And you should not be commenting on MMA as you obviously no fuck all, most fighters and all authorities on the sport have Silva in the top 3 P4P fighters on the planet that top 3 including GSP and Jose Aldo and I agree completely, the order of those three on the other hand is debateable, yet you seem to know more than all those people combined. What happened both times Silva moved up to LHW? LOL Irvin was even juicing and Silva knocked him the fuck out.
FlyingArmBarU 7 months ago
@FlyingArmBarU I lke the way you think lol tell me what you think about this I think there both top 2 p4p and anderson will be able to crush more people but GSP is made to beat anderson by dec its just how it is
Kronos360360 6 months ago
@Kronos360360 I really don't think GSP would beat him, if he could keep Anderson on the ground then possibly but we saw what Silva is capable of pulling out of the bag after 4 tough rounds agains a top level wrestler like Chael Sonnen and we also saw Jake Shields land a lot of strikes on GSP so I have to give it to Anderson Silva whichever weight they fight at. I am a huge fan of them both equally but I have to be realistic about it.
FlyingArmBarU 6 months ago
@FlyingArmBarU I can see why you think that if silva wins its gonna be a KO. but dude i would be shocked if he subbed gsp there both badasses I just think Gsp is has more of an advantage in the wrestling/scrambling then silva has in the striking
Kronos360360 6 months ago
@Kronos360360 That is not strictly true, Silva is a black belt in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so it would be unfair to give GSP much of an advantage on the ground if any, because of Siva's dominance over most fighters on his feet people ignore his ground game, I am not saying that Silva would sub him but I would not count it out altogether. GSP would have to move up weight classes that is how it works and he would lose a lot of that fast twitch explosiveness in the weight gain.
FlyingArmBarU 6 months ago
@Kronos360360 Which he would need every bit of to live with Silva, it usually takes a fighter a few fights to adjust to a different weight class and that is a situation you don't want to find yourself in with a fighter of Silva's class. Bottom line is Silva is the better fighter hands down, he has a style that cannot be emulated by training partners particularly with respects to unpredictability, whereas there are plenty of explosive wrestlers for Silva to role with, plus Silva is a finisher.
FlyingArmBarU 6 months ago
@MrMendozis Go on share your wisdom with us one more time and tell us who all these fighters are at LHW who would present a problem to Anderson Silva. Or maybe he should move up and fight Brock Lesnar or Cain Velasquez or maybe even JDS at HW LOOL people like you crack me the fuck up, go back to watching smackdown as you are completely out of touch with reality when it comes to MMA.

fu3ar25 10 months ago
idiots saying "why should spider move down in weight?" why? because he has been down to lower weights and he has fought at lower weights! GSP is a solid welterweight. it's not easy going up in weight to fight. It's a lot easier to go down in weight, because u are much stronger than everyone in that weight class. For example, i used to fight at LHW, moved to MW and DOMINATED, now, I plan to fight at welterweight. The opponents will be faster, but i will have strength coming from a heavier weight.
mmajjk 10 months ago
@mmajjk Would you mind uploading some of the fights where you "Dominated" opponents?
kanguesso 10 months ago
Its going to be epic. I got GSP.
Xmen1312 10 months ago
Why should there be a super fight? GSP looks superb at his weight and Silva is dominant at his. The only reason fighters go outside their weight in boxing is they outgrow their size or there are no fighters to fight. When one asks a fighter to leave their natural weight they are immediately doing it at a disadvantage. If Silva comes down to GSP's weight he is at a disadvantage and likewise for GSp moving up in weight. I say forget it. Let them holds their title in their own weight.

juanharryhenry 10 months ago
@Blabla3777 why should GSP move up? first off, GSP has already said he would move up to 185 if he wins the Shields fight. The Welterweight division is 10x the division the Middleweight division is, Why should GSP leave one of the hardest division to join a way less talented division to fight one guy? GSP has said if he goes up hes staying up, so if he beats Silva (and he will), theres NO NO NO NO NO NO chance anyone in that division will come close to him.

@mrbadman51 thats fine everyone has their opinion. i find MW to be a bunch of jokes personally, The diference between Silva and GSP is, GSP hasn't lost ONE round since he's been champion, not something your boy Silva could say. *Cough Sonnen Cough"...
Synetik4 10 months ago
@Synetik4 just remember why steroids are banned. it turns you into one strong crazy motherfucker.
Silva vs gsp would be something amazing!!!! Go gsp!!!!
wilknight12345 10 months ago
@wilknight12345 it doesnt make you any stronger, it boosts muscle mass (which in most ways is a negative effect to your fighting skills) and it increses aggression, a.k.a "roid rage"
Synetik4 10 months ago
@Synetik4 Well technically provided your eating a surplus of calories &/or training correctly, anabolic steroids will boost strength considerably perhaps not necessarily via muscle mass but this does help but also because it allows quicker recovery times between training sessions and therefore quicker improvement. However that being said strength is not the be-all end-all of MMA, see example Lesnar vs. Velasquez.
MikeyVL944 10 months ago
@Synetik4 fair enough, ya increases aggresion. Also gives you more endurance, which is probably what made sonnen so relentless.
wilknight12345 10 months ago
@Synetik4 GSP has a completely different style then Silva. Comparing the rounds fought in and won is pointless because they are different fighters. GSP goes in to the octagon to impose his will and dictate the pace at all times whereas Silva goes into knock there heads off or secure a submission. One style requires the fighter to take chances whereas the other one doesn't.
trehansen 10 months ago
@mrbadman51 And when is Bisping gonna get a chance at Silva? like wtf, 21-3 and is one of the only top MW who hasn't gotten a chance at him, They keep throwing all these fighters against Silva who have no chance. Look at the top 5 middleweight rankings and tell me one of them has a good enough record to even fight for the belt other than Okami who looks like he will never get a shot at him either.
Synetik4 10 months ago
@mrbadman51 And one more thing, Silva hasn't fought anyone in a long time who has more than one specialty, Maia = submission, Belfort = Striking, Sonnen = Striking, Griffin = Striking. Like c'mon, atleast GSP faces mixte martial artists, Silva won't know how to handle GSP because he's arguably the best at every single aspect. the only advantage Silva has on GSP is his Muay Thai, which won't make a diference with GSP's lightning fast takedowns, i'm more worried about Shields than Silva
Synetik4 10 months ago
@Synetik4 ok first of all cheal is a wrestler so yeah but anyway gsp has done the same thing plz name me a fighter who gsp as face that is a so call mix martial artists to be honest they r only a few fighters that r mix martial artists gsp will get handle by silva he has become so dangerous because he has amazing stand up and really good bjj and has move up in weigh dont mean to be rude but i think your a dumbfuck if your worried about Shields than Silva that is all
mrbadman51 10 months ago
@Synetik4 actually he would have problems with guys like Sonnen and Okami
AznboiY2J 10 months ago
@AznboiY2J I don't think so. GSP still has better conditioning and athleticism than both fighters. Plus GSP is younger than both fighters by a good 5 years. GSP can beat Ander Silva wrestling. Unlike Sonnen, GSP has very good BJJ. GSP can succeeed where Sonnen failed.
Uppercut416 10 months ago
@Uppercut416 Yeah but that completely different fighting styles. GSP seems to be creeping into a purely technical game plan with little to no aggression or intention of pushing the pace. Sonnen, even though his BJJ defense is poor, is a fighter who doesn't seem to be afraid of anyone and is extremely aggressive. GSP on the other hand, well, seems a bit like a limp dick after the show he put on against Shields. I am really disappointed in him. He seems like he is afraid to lose.
trehansen 10 months ago
@trehansen I agree GSP is reluctant to take any calculated risks. He knows that he can get KOed in a blink. It seems like he fights not to lose. I'm a huge GSP fan, but his fight with Sheilds was a big dissapointment. Silva has shown weaknesses against wrestlers. Go back to the henderson & Sonnen fights. Unlike them, GSP has stellar submission defense. As long as GSP can secure the takedown exert ground control, & avoid submissions, he'll get the boring 5 round decision.
Uppercut416 10 months ago
@Uppercut416 GSP has never fought a fighter as long or as tall as Silva, not to mention someone as slick with submissions. Length has a lot to do with it. Silva and Griffin, both very long fighters, submitted Sonnen with a triangle. I would agree that GSP has the distinctive advantage against smaller or equal size opponents, but all that goes out the door against someone as big as Silva.
Also, I don't think Hendo has ever been submitted outside of Silva, and GSP was submitted by Hughes.
trehansen 10 months ago
@trehansen hendo was sub by nogeira and you honestly thing GSP will lose just because of andys length?...thats dumb
xXCUBEZEROXx 10 months ago
@xXCUBEZEROXx I never said he would sub him because of it, I said it would be a factor. The same reason that Fedor was caught in a triangle by Verdum, who is long as well. Long and tall fighters have an advantage in leverage and can pull off submissions that smaller fighters cannot.
trehansen 10 months ago
@Uppercut416 lol weakness against wrestlers? kill yourself faggot.
xxxsukit 10 months ago
@Synetik4 gsp is a class act and a great fighter. that being said. anderson would kill gsp. he should stay right where he is.
jihad68 10 months ago
@Synetik4 You raise a good point about the WW division being deeper than the MW. However, I would argue that is because a lot of the WW fighters are afraid to move up and fight Silva, who is a huge MW. Alves, GSP, Fitch, and Shields are all really big WWs and would easily be able to move up in weight. I think they are all scared though. Even GSP said in a radio interview complaining about how big Silva is, and he didn't seem too enthusiastic about it after the Shields fight either
trehansen 10 months ago
@trehansen Well Shields fought alot of fights in MW back in Strikeforce. None of those guys want to move up to MW because GSP is so close to moving up that when he does the belt is gonna be up for grabs. It's also not all their choice to move up, theres always number 1 contenders you gotta work around. The fight was almost official before White had to give Okami his chance. It will happen eventually. I'm sure fighting for the number 1 P4P in the world is stressful as fuck no matter who you are.
Synetik4 10 months ago
@Synetik4 If and when the two fight (granted silva beats Okami) Silva will destroy gsp on the feet: Silva wins by KO. The fight most likely wouldn't even go to the ground. Gsp will not be the dominant fighter at middleweight everyone has seen at welterweight, simply because he will not be as quick (packing on weight) and he will not be as naturally strong as the rest of the division of guys who drop from 200+ lbs to make weight at 185... In all seriousness the fight shouldn't even happen imo.

React24 9 months ago
@Synetik4 Like the fact you actually are trying to argue stats and you already have 2 wrong, in terms of comment fighting this is pretty much over lol
React24 9 months ago
@React24 And whch stat did i get wrong exactly?...
Synetik4 9 months ago
@Synetik4 Also he tapped from punches and tapped with 1 second left in the round...Anderson has taken the most punches in a UFC fight and still won it in the 5th round...one of only 3 men to ever do so. ANDERSON IS GOD!
React24 10 months ago
@React24 actually there was 1:30 left in the round when he tapped. either way, GSP is 22-2 and Silva is 28-4. GSP has a superior record.
Synetik4 10 months ago
@Synetik4 lol 4:59 tap bud, but nice try

@Synetik4
It is very unlikely that GSP will beat Silva, he has got nothing on that guy.
UnkaStunka 10 months ago
@Synetik4 First of all theres no way gsp is going to beat silva. The only way gsp could win is by decision from takedowns. And thats if he can take silva down without getting knocked out or submitted. Secondly there are people at 185 who could challenge gsp. You have to understand he will be fighting bigger stronger guys than hes used to.

@Synetik4 haha he could never beat Silva. Doe he wanna to wait untill Silva's last fight or what? he's 30 and Silva is already 36! GSP is the offspring of a chicken and a duck. The Lay n Pray Champ is great good but he isn't a warriors who goes into fights with broken ribs and wins 5th round comebacks like John Elway. never been KOed either like GSP, moved up just to test his skills against a top guy and made him look foolish. if GSP was that great he'da moved up long ago vs belfort sonnen etc
maocapoeira 7 months ago
@Synetik4 the truth is GSP couldn't beat any top MW Damian Maya would whoop his ass over powering him with BJJ, Sonnen would kill him, Munoz, Belfort etc. any top contender at MW would smash GSP at MW. he doesn't have the strength or the height.
maocapoeira 7 months ago
@Synetik4: GSP uses the judges to win. He doesn't beat/finish guys. He scores points to get the decision W. Anderson DESTROYS anyone they put in front of him. He makes other "professional MMA fighters" look like civilians.
