Oh my - I absolutely adore the Bach Cello pieces - until now the only man I could listen to playing this was the quite incredible Paul Tortelier. His interpretation is much more stylised and accented. This is, however, a performance of utter utter brilliance. I'm speechless.

Although I love the cello and string instruments, I wouldn't exactly agree they're the hardest to master. I play both violin and piano and can certainly say both are equally challenging in their own ways and one is neither more difficult to master than the other.

Anyways, love this piece and his performance of it!

@MrsSaxophonegirl people always say things like that, about how classical music is supposed to be, in all likelihood it wasn't supposed to sound anything like it does today, we only have notation, no recordings. We assume the standard how fairly elitist musical institutions say things should be played. Also, many of Bach's Cello pieces are intended as practice pieces. Personally I enjoy pretty much any versions as long as they're tastefull check out 'Freedomworksfilms' here on Youtube :)
