  • I clicked onto this video and Johnette's voice and music put me in a Trance while i listened. I came to a few moments after it was over, all i can say is... WOW !

  • I miss music like this! They never got the credit they deserved, definitely underrated!! I love listening to their albums and I can only hope to see them live again someday!!

  • This song was written under the influence of Anne Rice books, according to Johnette.

  • I recently bought a book of her poems/short stories. I'd love to get inside her head. She is VERY underrated!

  • who remembers a time when singers didn't need auto-tune? i certainly do. i think as music fans, we should be DEMANDING people with actual talent and substance be put in the forefront...you know, how it used to be before the advent of Music Television. it's bands like this that make me realise that most music these days is complete and utter shite

  • This is one of the best songs ever recorded - it has a nice melody and rhythm to it and you just can't beat Johnette's vocals - she's such an awesome singer!

  • Lost their edge?Hmm?When was the last time you saw them live? Are we talking about the same band?

  • Great song. I dislike the hippy visuals in this video, though.

  • are all woman connected. I have heard those words my whole life.. but I love your song Johnette. I wish I could run into a woman that can sing like you

  • Don't like this or any other CB music? Then go jump into the abysmal fires of hell.

  • i actually heard this before Joey in 1992... then Joey in '93. I was taping 1 song, & this song ran right after the other one i originally taped, but i didn't stop the tape for some reason, like i usually did for songs i didn't know ;-) I was aggravated that i couldn't sing along to the high part without going into head voice for many years until more recently when my voice finally started maturing. I saw her play last year & she still sounds & looks amazing!!!!

  • Too bad the band started to sound like a wet cat...no edge anymore...take me back to the "Still in Hollywood" days...Gawd

  • @haller1929 You are so right! Still In Hollywood days was their best music! They lost their edge and their drive. Didn't have that same "punch".

  • @barbiigawnbad Sorry, but Bloodletting was an awesome album.

  • @barbiigawnbad They were once THE LA band...when you listened to them you could smell the smog the traffic and the tension...what the hell went wrong?

  • I cant breath at a lost love, my daughter and i don't speak and I was feeling with no words.......then you sang them for me

  • I cant breath at a lost love, my daughter and i dont speak and I was feeling with no words.then you sang them for me

  • Don't want to be over dramatic but I think this song saved me.

  • Jonette's a goddess.

  • Just straight up Jonette!

  • love this song......since I was a kid.......

  • GREAT SONG WRITER!!!!!!!!!

  • The greatest female rock singer ever....she has it all...

  • IMPRESSIVE in this video how Johnette looks EXACTLY LIKE .... Milla Jovovich in "Ultraviolet"... Fantastic!

  • I love this song

  • Concrete Blonde, one of the most underrated and overlooked bands of all time, amazing talent, Johnette and Jim....I could go on and on writing about them....

  • Why do the greatest bands have to be SO under-rated and so under-appreciated? Simple: the Industrial "Music" SHITSTEM is ruled by PERVERT PSICHOPATICS who only want sell ROTTEN UGLY SHIT FAKES such as Madonna and Gaga and they want made us all a bunch of billions of MOROMS with NO sense of good taste for so good things and REAL TALENTED ARTISTS such as Concrete Blonde, Public Image, Bolshoi, Alphaville, Irene Cara, Sinead O'Connor, Kim Carnes, Sandra, Laura Branigan, Randy Bush, Suzi Quatro...

  • @Hacker73 yessss! agreeed

  • Wow I got thier best of album years ago, never knew how hot she was... woman is fine

  • Simply an underestimated band, such talent.

  • "Someday" is such a wonderful song; Freddi and I have loved Concrete Blonde and Johnette for years...

  • concrete blonde post acid

  • Johnette! Marry Me!!!

  • @jroach96 Get in line. lol

  • @ldylkr Me first...Heh!!!

  • Love this song. Forgot all about it until I came across a mixed CD I made up a few years ago of some of my favorite songs by solo women or lead singers. Two of the songs were Joey and Someday.

  • beautiful song, so laid back.... the vid is great!

  • unlike many bimbos around these days she is actually a great singer

  • yeah saw them a bit back, probably my favorite show I've ever seen, and I just saw Alice in Chains who are also great, but Concrete Blonde won easily, Jim Mankeys an amazing guitar player, his finger picking unbelievable, shame no one gives him any credit. Johnette's great, and looked gorgous back then. I have no idea why it never really happened for them despite having excellent songs, a good look, and great technical chops.

  • God, I have every single 1 of their albums and they all kick ass. Johnette Napolitano, you are one bad ass woman and base player. Keep rockin' cause I love everything Concrete Blonde does!!! :-)

  • Jeeze what was that short clip at the end of the video?

  • I always wondered why they weren't bigger stars than they were. Cool, accessible songs, an amazing frontwoman - they just seemed to be destined for amazing things.

  • @kinseymilkbone

I always felt that too. She has such an amazing voice, amazing lyrics, great music behind her, cool name....yet, went nowhere....

  • such a brilliant band

  • Saw these guys in Montreal twice. Amazing shows! Great memories.

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tom Petersson!!

  • Watching this brings me back to the summer of 1992. Good times. Johnette has one of the strongest voices to ever come out of the alternative genre and I love the bittersweet yet empowering feelings this song's lyrics and music evoke. I actually play this tape in my car, it's a good album, but I bought it for this song mainly. Still sounds really crisp.

  • Out of a million tracks of music in the universe, sometimes this one says it best.

Great vocals, terrible visuals, but I wasn't in it for the video.

  • for all of the other songs concrete blond has done i think is the most soft one

  • For anyone that has ever tried to sing this song (including armchair karaoke!), try to hit the notes, it's nothing less than impossible ! unless of course you are a professional singer. Her voice is amazing !

  • Look at this woman.... wow!

  • right now were growing up in a generation of retarded music why cant stuff like this come back

  • I love this song. I hate this video!

  • @antneon Hi...no need to hate. Most videos are just fluff. Turn off the picture, put on the headphones and crank the volume up. See, no more hate. :)

  • back in the 90s... when you didn't have to be an early tweeny-pop female singer to make good music :-P This was actually the 1st song i heard of theirs in 1992. I can't wait to see them on Saturday again!!!! 2002 is too long ago....

  • it's as if Janis Joplin, Chrissie Hind, and Grace Slick had a baby and this angel of a singer came to be.

  • @nprbiz I would also add, Ann Wilson and a touch of Annie Lennox in there as well!.. ;~)

  • @nprbiz wow..you said it perfectly

  • @nprbiz And Ann Wilson...

  • Johnette really speaks to me, man

  • This song is beautiful, as most of there songs are . It's as if Johnette and this music were a natural match made in Heaven. When I need some uplifting tunes CB does it better than any other band. Thanks Johnette!!!!!!!!

  • such a great voice

    johnette u are a goddess !!!!!!!!!

  • shes got a cool voice i think

  • damn hot for 50- damn hot!

  • @screaminogre "Almost 55 I'm playing my bass I'm living life" Saw her In Columbus June 11 and she looked like she was 30! She is an angel in disguise I'm telling you!

  • I started buying all their CDs because they always sounded terrific. As I've gotten older each song has taken on special meaning. To me, this song emphasizes our tendency to "get around" to the important things in life -- such as family and friends -- "someday" when we've grown weary of the hussel and bussel of making our fortunes. In that sense, it hits the same chord as Cats in the Cradle.

  • @dpere001 i couldn't have said that better myself! Sakes!

  • Great voice, Love the guitar sound

  • I love this woman!

  • Woman with much soul is Johnette. An incredible amount of soul.

  • love it! yeah, really love it :)

  • love it!

  • exelente cancion un himno ala musica buen remenber de los 90s yo damian pal mundo sudamerica jajaja

  • me encanta esta mujer y esta cancion mucho mas !!

    rico !!

  • -check out the 1992 David letterman show with CB doing this tune live- they were so cool-

I love this chick way too much.

  • good chick singer...compared to the disparaging comment i just left for lady gaga...)"

  • Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick on Bass, awesome!

  • I'll be damned--it is!

  • This song actually helped me introduce CB to someone in my life who passed away. And when I hear this song, it helps me remember her and the time we spent together. Thank you Johnette!!

  • how does she look sooo hot here, but yet so skanky in other videos? lol

  • She also looked so hot in the God is a bullet video....But I see your point!!

  • lighting, editing, special effects

  • Johnette looks awesome all the DAMN time, man.......

  • @jeffthrow6892 yes sir!

  • @IAmMoparNut I think She looks the hottest in the Heal Me Up video!!!!

  • My fave CB song..the last 90 seconds are the best.

  • gawd he was SUCH a good guitar player !! he was 1 of the greats im serious listen to his back catalogue he / and she are sooo talented!!

  • They need to do a remake of the Song,

    Go ask Alice

her voice would be a good sub for Grace Slick

    Janet, can you hear me?

    Bobby...

  • love her voice

  • Hey- that is Cheap Trick's Tom Petersson playing bass. Cool!

  • Good ol' Tom! Did he play on the studio recording of the song, too?

  • On a Barnes & Noble site, I see Tom and Johnette got credit for bass.

  • so much better que janis joplin & linda perry

  • the song is beautiful but the video sucks

  • Well, I would have to agree that this is really not a good video, but it is, by far, not their worst. IDK what it is, they tend to have horrible videos, but their music is great. I think True and Joey are really good, but the rest I've seen are just... not good.

  • that drummer is so hot i wanna wear him out yumyum

  • I did receive a rough cut digital tape of work in progress and we are still in touch. The big buz was that such a major artist bought my self made CD.

  • if you could only listen to one band, i take this one over U2 anyday

  • she likes fine in..... Walking in London..!!!

  • can she play bass guitar!!

  • She is so beautiful

  • My favorite group ever ;)

I love her interpretation of litle wing ( jimi hendrix) it fits her voice perfectly, amazingly...

  • Johnette is HOT in this vid ... kinda reminds me of Michael Steele of "The Bangles" (another hottie!)

Oh yeah ... Johnette is certainly one of the BEST rock vocalists ever!

  • Me too-I thought I was the only one-I always had a crush on both.

  • Wow, all three of us must have been separated at birth. Michael Steele was my favorite Bangle, and Johnette Napolitano is both hot and reminds me of Steele. lol

  • Concrete Blonde is the greatest! Johnette's voice and songwriting are amazing. Listen to the cover version of Little Wing on the Still in Hollywood greatest hits collection - why isn't Jim Mankey considered one of the best guitarists in rock music? A friend got to meet and interview Johnette once - I'm jealous!

  • totally agree with you!

  • @fmotp I really like his guitar tone here, vid shows him playing a Les Paul, but you can't go by what you see in a video, of course. Sounds like a Gretsch in a way, but it could even be a Tele in the middle position. If he did get that beautiful twang out of a Les Paul, God bless him!

  • @typsypyg I swear it sounds like a Gretsch! I love them guitars.

  • @MishuTaste You know what, that does sound like a Gretsch. He plays a fat Gibson too. Great observation.

  • has anyone noticed that you just dont hear great music like this anymore?

  • She is special! Now I can rest for the night! One of my alltime favorites!

  • I would say as far as top female rock vocalist it would be her and Chrissie Hynde of the pretenders

  • Comment removed

  • And this is not even one of their best songs, good for sure, but they have way better.

  • johnette was/is a very attractive femenine god. godess.. even though i was led to her by an ex g/f im glad to have met her..

  • She is by-far, the best female rock singer I've ever heard. Her voice is the bomb!! Love it!

  • should hear her in concert

  • Sorry, the best Female rock singer of all time. Name one better? Not the first, but the best. Timeless. Beyound compare. Yep. I like um

  • I agree ...I could not believe it when she bought my self made CD and wanted to record one of my tracks.

  • Wow! Explain Thanks.

  • Did she ever record your song?

  • what a great band! I have loved this band forever.

  • Johnette você é de maissssssss!!!!!!

  • So sad, yet so beautiful. Like the woman herself.

  • Remarkable isn't it. You can tell she's been through some serious shit. Thiss band is thearapy.

  • Awesome song!

  • Great! Johnette's still got it today...

  • i haven't heard this song for fifteen years it feels like yesterday what a blast from the past!!!!

  • God I have loved this band since I was 14.She has such an amazing voice. I love you Johnette!!!!
