I can only stretch a 10th as well and I was trying to play each note with independent fingers. It works a lot better with the thumb, thanks! :)

That second chord group, right after the first octave melody in the 3rd bar is a whopper. C# D in the left, no sweat but F G B and Ab in the right? Talk about a telescopic pinky finger.
I can only stretch to a 10th, but this chord is not so bad if you play F and G together with the thumb.

Very nice. Shows wonderful things can still be done with tonality in the 20th century.

I can't help but notice the striking similarity between the ending of this sonata and Mosolov's sonata no. 4.
