probably the single best episode of Buffy. The bad guys were creepy, the acting was immense, the scenes where the town first discovers the "outbreak of laryngitis" are awesome, and a nice dramatic cliffhanger when Buffy and Riley bump into each other while "at work".

once in a while a great tv series transcends - it becomes more than the author/actors/production imagined. I love dexter because it has these moments, but compared to buffy dexter is a walk in the park. buffy transcended its premise week after week, year after year. from hush, to tabula rasa, to passions, to omwf, the body, the gift, graduation pts 1 & 2, the prom, primeval, restless, and finally hush - which is tv at its magic zenith
