I went with a buddy to help buy a 05 cummins. He drove the dodge, which has a lift, and absolutely loved it. Then the dealer convinced him to try a 06 ford because it's cheaper. My friend literally laughed... There was no power, the computer read 9 mpg less then the dodge, and this thing had less mileage. All I'd give the ford is it had a nice interior, but that doesnt cover the fact that it was newer with less miles and a lariat package and still cost less then the cummins. Lol @ ford.
actually dual rear tires creats less traction with no load on and the true deciding factor is that the ford is a lighter truck by about 750 lbs so there for less traction. the powerstroke is the #1 in this gen look it up if you dont want to belive it

you can't trust YouTube pulls. There are so many different factors that can change everything, and honestly, unless you had 2 exact bodies with different engines, you can't compare engines like this. This is more about weight displacement and traction. Maybe the Ford's tires were bald and the dodge had a lot of weight in the back. Completely inaccurate and invalid comparison.

the inline 6 is clearly a better diesel. even if it is 1.4 liters smaller and 2 cylinders less still the law was laid down. and for the dodge being newer, so what if that was a 94 dodge the results would have been the same

This looks like one of the few instances when a Powerstroke could have beat a Cummins if it only had more traction. Buy some new tires and throw something heavy in the back, then give it another go and let's see what happens.

@spongebobflatass In my opinion, I believe the Cummins is a better diesel motor, but first off that was probably like a 5.9L diesel Cummins and the Powerstroke was probably like a 6.0L if not a 7.3L. The engine isn't the only thing that determines a truck pull. And you would know that if you weren't so fuckin ignorant. Why don't you learn a thing or two before you try to sound smart, It makes a big difference.

Well the dodge is looks newer like a 07-09. That ford is old and if it has a carb is not making the power that the dodge is. Wy can't they test truck that are from the same timeline. That ford is like a 94 or somthing. And the dodge did not really pull it that far at all.

yea it doesnt seem like people get it. these trucks are all nasty strong and can pull a house over....but they dont weigh the same. the lighter truck will always lose. i got a 2005 f-350 reg cab and an 2006 f-350 dump...same motors, and gear ratios...cept the dump is heavier...dump will always win. ...least with my powerstroke i dont have to worry about a 45 cent dowel pin trashing my 40,000 investment lol

@eurekaseven4me lol well to bad for you if you know anything about trucks, the fix is easy and once you do it you never need to worry about it ever again. I have driven a 2005 f-350 powerstroke and a 1996 ram 2500 12v cummins I have to say the dodge pulls a lot harder and in my opinion feels like an all around better truck even though it was 9 years older.

I like the cummins diesels, but i absolutely LOVE Fords. Dodge makes it Cummins shakes it. The only reason Dodge can sell trucks is because of the hemi and the Cummins diesel. without those, they would be out of business.
