  • No, Dion can't hear, it's pretty obvious. He didn't hear that Canadians VOTED for Harper and the Conservatives and that THEY WON!

Nice try Dion but your scam only prooves you're a big cry baby.

  • HA! :)

  • I guess all liberals have problems with comprehension...or do they all have hearing problems?

I guess thats why they never got anything done when they were in power! However, they were good at stealing out money!

    Conservative for life!

  • It was not a hearing problem!! If you watch the 3 takes before this one Dion clearly hears the question, repeats it and then stalls for an answer. The liberals must really think Canadians are stupid with this bull!

  • Basically he was asked, "What would YOU have done differently??

How difficult it must be ... for someone determined to pretend to not understand the question .. or for someone genuinely too stunned to understand it!

(BTW, funny - that about Mr. Peabody & Sherman!)

  • I'm a Conservative supporter

Anyways, Duffy did say "James" at 1:57, but as a chuckle to the presumably the scoffing Tory. Duffy expected the Grit to continue his thought, but the latter didn't pick up on it after Duff interjected asking if a language barrier was all it was.

Personally, I think Dion would make a horrible leader. I'm sure he represents his party well, but in fact this representation seems to be from having his party speak through him in pre-scripted addresses.

  • He looks like Mr. Peabody. And Bob Rae is Sherman.

  • The Liberals said Dion didn't understand the question because of his lack of the english language & a hearing problem. If Stephen Harper had screwed up like this The Liberals would be all over it coming out with ads on tv blasting Harper because that's what they do best. They're good at fear mongering.

  • does anyone else think Dion looks like Bob Saget?

  • LOL! It's that deer caught in headlights look.

  • Oh he has problems and they sure don't start or end with hearing problems ..... communications problems? You betcha!

  • It's the fact that this is the most important issue with you people that is so discouraging.

  • We believe that the competency of the leader and his plan (or lack thereof) is the most critical issue when deciding who to vote for. I don't want an incompetent fool running the country and neither does the rest of Canada.

  • Well said SplattoMan.

  • yeah, imagine him nodding in agreement when he doesn't really understand at an important foreign affairs meeting. what could he possibly agree to without knowing it?

  • I was shocked when the Liberals originally picked this guy as leader. It seemed to me as if they really didn't want to win the next election.

  • Ken. You have fallen on your head. Mr Dion clearly was caught flat footed, he understood everything else that happened. Watch the whole interview, The unintelligible gibberish Mr Dion spews, further removes him from reality. The Liberal spin of "hearing impairment" is outrageous. He screwed up through, sheer arrogance, nothing more.

  • The key to understanding this event is that, as you say, he understood everything else that happened.

How can you understand everything else that happends while not hearing anything?

  • Im not sure what 'trainwreck' people are referring to here.... :/

  • how anyone can think that this man can lead this great country is beyond beliefe. And did we not have enought liberal misdeeds while they were in power. Give your head a shake

  • The Tories risked reopening the charge that they are mean-spirited when they almost immediately rolled out a big-screen TV for reporters, scoffed that the interview looked like a satire and held up Mr. Harpers plane so he could add his disparaging two-cents.

The Tories are trying to push it, and they risk proving the Liberals point that they are no class bullies intent on picking on a little guy with a hearing problem.

  • That's an odd interpretatio nof the interview. I think it's the Liberals who risk proving their leader is incompetent and a poor choice of how to handle the economy. He can't even state what he would do.

  • VOTE CONSERVATIVE!

  • hey

  • This interview is more awkward than Dion's response. Get over it.

  • In the various re-phrasings, we keep hearing, "What would YOU have done?" Simple, eh?

Dion and his followers are quite the card players, playing the language card (ESL) and the disability card (hearing). Then, going beyond the language card, some have come up with a new one to play: the "grammar card"!

Also, some are playing the conspiracy card, claiming a Conservative setup. I wouldn't put it past them to try -- somehow -- to play the race card next -- loonies will find a way! HA!

  • This is not a leader!!!

  • Canada's Liberals... there was a little inflation, we need a little more of your money!

  • this guy from Nova Scotia is a bigger moron than Dion.

  • Hearing impairment? That's their response? It must infectious and all the Liberals are contracting it!

These people are dangerous and should they regain control of the government, will immediately take us in the wrong direction.

Thankfully, Dion's performance is consistent and his real ineptitude cannot always be masked!

  • He did say James.

  • Dion doesn't have bad hearing, he selective hearing. When he can't answer a question he pulls out the language card.

  • Another Liberal weasel.

  • How to "sink a ship".

  • The liberals are all the same. They comprehension tendency is null. Who would ever want them to lead this great nation. I am down with the conservative.

  • Mike Duffy should go on Slimfast. It will probably save the taxpayers $50,000 per year in healthcare costs.

  • im sorry. im a liberal. but clearly there was no hearing problem. it was a confusing question; thats it

  • The interviewer kept changing the question, and it became more confusing for Dion.

"If you WERE Prime Minister now" (incorrect)

"If you were Prime Minister" (correct)

The correct quote above is how it should have been asked, but it never was.

  • "If you were prime minister now" is correct. What do you think he should he have said, "if you was prime minister now?" THINK people THINK before posting, or giving interviews.

Stephane Dion is an idiot and doesn't deserve to lead his party let alone MY country !

  • This man scares me

  • If this man becomes Prime Minister, the West will separate from Canada.

  • This is not about not understanding English. Unless scripted or briefed previously, he is not capable of answering. This is not a question he was prepared to answer and unexpected. I love the way he uses lack of understanding as an excuse for inability to address a VERY SIMPLE QUESTION. Listen to his lame answer. He repeats past speeches with no substance and sounds like he is about to cry. He doesn't have a plan. 30 day plan; haha. Liberals are good at marketing buzz words and fear mongering.

  • Make it short, I don't have a plan yet but I will have one within 30 days if I am elected the prime minister of Canada!

  • He is from Outer Space - aka Alien with an accent!!

  • Dion's obviously not the only Liberal dipstick.

  • Holy shit.....this guy needs 30 days to wipe his ass....what a buffoon......Canada cannot afford a moron like him. Geoff Regan couldn't come up with an answer either. When Duffy asked him a question, he had NO answer, just like Dion has NO answer.

Voting for these collection of mental midgets is like pissing into the wind, only you get soaked.

  • As his well known Liberal colleague might say when viewing the video footage "THE PROOF IS THE PROOF!", and we want this man to lead Canada in these troubled times? WAKE UP ONTARIO if you think times are tough now then give the Liberals 4 years of mess management and then we'll really have a mess!

  • Look at this liberal guy. His reaction to a not-so-tough question was exactly the same as that of Mr. Dion - pretending that there was hearing (or language) problem!

  • Looks like inability to comprehend runs rampant within the Liberal campaign

  • Watching this makes me nauseous. Dion has no hearing problem. He is an con-man.

    James Moore is another con-man.

The Canadian media is so pro Liberal it's shocking that they would post this.

But there it is again - Campaign Exhaustion - nonsense - no answer Dion is a bumbling professor and not much more.

"do you think it's easy to make priorities?"

  • Desmarais must be double fisting bourdeaux after seeing this. He, his Quebecor and his last stand to control this country using the Liberal party are about to end.

    Dion is one shifty character.
