these are the chords and instrumentation i like to hear in acoustic analog disco. it is not too bright, has an underlying bluesy vibe, despite the track,s tempo. this is disco.
on the turntables i would pitch this WAY back, and turn it into a sick groove. which would enhance the aforementioned elements...stellar tune anyway you slice it. the whirly after 6:00 is such a subtle sweet touch.
The 12" remix on vinyl was sick!!! Used to play Say I Am by Tommy James and the Shondells 45 over the break of the 12". Don't miss the 70's - just keep playing original 70's tracks throughout your sets - the more underground the "newer" it will sound! DAVEDJ Cleveland via New Orleans
One of the best tracks from her final Midsong label LP COME INTO MY LIFE-1979. The 12" single disco version (which was the flipside to I GOT THE ANSWER) is even better, it's a remix. The COME INTO MY LIFE LP didn't have great songs and was a bit noisy, arrangement-wise but LOVE SICK was a highlight. The title tune, COME INTO MY LIFE was also a smooth disco track. Nice job, Carol !!
"Love Sick" is certainly is a gem of a song more people should know! It sounds way cooler than best known hit, "Doctor's Orders." I like that song, but I love this song! "Love Sick" is a fabulous song overall!
the beginning looks at look like: Destination - Move On Up Suite 1979

@djalternegro: Yeah, -6 at least. It's really too hectic like this.
