  • sprint its self nor any cell phone company reports anything to your credit... it is never under the carriers name on your credit... however if you do not pay what is owed then when the oca buys your debt and you dont pay them they do report to your credit... thats it all the facts in one period end of discussion

  • Sprint SUX !!! We're trying to cancel our service rIGHT NOW because we constantly roam and only get the smallest signal bar. Yet Sprint claims we get servie where we live, we don't.   • Most people who complain about their service regardless of the carrier are those who live on the fringe of the network coverage, always take the free handset, and/or don't pay their bills so they get disconnected. I've had service with Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.   • I am disgusted with Sprint...I have a cell phone and aircard (internet) with them, and started having problems about 3 weeks ago. I have had about 6 days of internet service so slow, it was like dial-up. One day the cell phone service was almost non-existent, calls would always drop. They are not even calling me back now. They seem to have no interest in helping to resolve the matter. I am dropping them. I was a happy customer, but no more.

  • You're absolutely right - Sprint's customer service DID suck two years ago. It's a WAY different company now: different CEO and Board of Directors. Sprint now ranks ahead of AT&T in customer service and has a bigger 3G network. Still chasing Verizon though!

  • in my area sprint has the best service. even when i have one bar, my calls aren't dropped, they are clear, and they never disconnect. i have had sprint for 6 years and i have never had a complaints with the service.

Not all carriers have shity customer service, all do make some mistakes on billing, drop calls ect but there is no need for poor customer service its just a company trying to rip people off.

  • @jpkm7992 All could be true... But that "ruined your credit" part is false. I managed a store for 4 years, and at a call center for 2 years after that... Billing and Payment history is never reported to the credited agencies for any reason expect when your account is cancelled due to an unpaid balance that is so delinquent that the in house customer finance had to refer to a collection agency. The "credit" that sprint keeps is solely in house to determine customer value.

  • @danielofantioch The collection agency that you hand it over to puts it on a person's credit report even if you don't, as an "uncollectable account." So it does fuck with your credit if you are erroneously overcharged, refuse to pay for their mistake, and then the company gives it to collections. I called to upgrade to 600 minutes once and the dooshes upped the plan to 6000. If they didn't fix the mistake there was no way in hell I was going to pay it, & they would've sent it to collections

  • @BabyButtSmell Collections is all internal. Sprint does not "hand over" it's financial management to vendors. Just account management like new activation's, plan, billing, trouble shooting. The only time its handed over to an OCA "outside collections agency" is when the account has been cancelled by sprint due to long term delinquency. (by that I mean when the account goes SOP far unpaid that its PAST "service interrupted" PAST "suspended for non payment" but cancelled & "refereed to OCA")

  • @BabyButtSmell No offense but I'm right about this. I'm not trying to justify this by having worked there but it should count for some level of honesty\accuracy here. I worked my way up from agent, to quality, to escalations, to trainer, to team manager, to assistant program manager of escalations. THEY DO NOT REPORT TO CREDIT, until its referred to an "OCA". (completely cancelled to due non payment). It takes at least 4 billing cycles to pass the suspension before that happens.

  • @danielofantioch No offense bud, but if you are so sure a cell phone contract problem can't end up on your credit report, there is a simple proof you can do. Go sign a cell contract, don't pay it, and wait and see if it don't wind up on your credit report. Why not try it if you're so sure? If you are so confident not paying a cell bill doesn't wind up on your credit report, you have nothing to worry about. But what I know is something else. They don't keep your SSN for no fucking reason

  • @BabyButtSmell I don't think youre understanding. Payment history isn't reported plain and simple. It's only reported when your account is cancelled due to non payment and referred to in out side collection agency.

  • @BabyButtSmell The only possible way for your credit to be hit, would be if your account had an unpaid balance when it was cancelled. Unless you were in some kind of long billing dispute and refused to pay til it was corrected, account got cancelled due to non payment, sent to OCA, Account corrected, payment received, account re-opened. I could see that hitting your credit?? But Sprint doesn't allow cancelled accts to be reactivated if the cancellation is over 60 days > new acct, new cred check.

I was told i had to go with nextel to get service where im living now so it cost me 450 dollars for a new nextel phone just to find out sprint cdma had service here. also i was sent 12 phones in a 6 month span because they were junk. way to go sprint!

  • okay here are the real stats......2nd best in dropped calls, meaning 2nd least. 4th quarter 08 #1 in first-call resolution, and #1 in having less than 1 transfer. first 4g network being tested right now, full launch next year. simply everything plan, no extended contract. oh, and currently an 88% customer satisfaction rate. sounds to me like you just enjoy complaining....

  • I live in Seattle. I have had sprint/nextel for work for years. They are by far the worst carrier I have ever delt with. I can be standing in the same spot and loose calls. i don't get my voice mails until 2 days later many times and after MANY MANY MANY MANY months of trying to convince the customer care that there is a problem in my area they have grugingly agreed to consider sending someone out to moniter the tower! I am sooo thankful that my compnay is switching to AT&T this week!

  • I have been with Nextel for 5 years and I have had zero problem with my service. I love it. They have the most affordable plans. You're not going to go anywhere else and a get a plan where the 2nd line on a family plan is free. Everyone else charges you $9.99 or more. They're #1 in phone durability, price plans and add ons.

  • dang i dont agree with this at all. i had alltel and yea the the service is really good with them but i just got a hybrid phone and i lost some bars but it was worth it. the PPT is amazing. and their plans are cheep unlike alltel where your charged for every add on. plus sprint/nextel are expanding their network by 40% by the end of this year alone. love my ic902.

  • The cdma to iden not benifiting anyone is not true at all. Sprint Knows that nextel is the leader is PTT, nextel having the largest and fastest ptt network. Now Sprint has spent time and money into a service called Qchat( by qualcom) which will allow for intercarrier operability with PTT. So a cdma based phoen can PTT a iden based phone thanks to Qchat, Which runs on sprints new EVDO rev.A network, which is the largest/fastest network in terms of data. THis will allow for H-ptt to wrk btwn the 2

  • SprintNextel isn't that bad. All companies have their ups and their downs (mostly downs), but nonetheless, you still get connected. By all means, if you live in south texas, get Pocket for basic use (even though it sucks) because they are functional within the region. IDK what to say except that all companies will get you to the same phone line

  • I work for Sprint, From Canada origenly, and I can tell you now, the cell phone service down in Canada is nothing like you guys have. I pay 40$ a month for a family plan, and each phone pays a accessing fee of 8.95$ for just having the cell phone, On top of that, i can only call in my area no wheres further than 1 hour drive away, than its long distance charges. I get 300 minutes for that price, doesnt include mobile 2 mobile, not even roaming. We cant even purchase insurance on the phone

  • There is a big difference between the Old Sprint and new Sprint, well yes there was a merger however the billing systems are different and now there is really no billing errors with ensamble system everyone is not on the new Emsamble billing which there really is no billing errors and Sprint is much better then Verizon on compared on VZW has control of there internet rather Sprint does not. Sprint and every corperation has major flaws!

  • i had sprint and i was charged 200 dollers because i moved from one place to another and was never really told why i had that charge i spent many hours on 411 and never got it fixed as for nextell my god i honestly didnt know people could be so dumb when i called i felt like i was in a call center in the ghetto i cancelled before the one month mark because they never could get my text messeges to work and blamed me for there problems

  • I live in Tempe AZ, a suburb of Phoenix, and I get ONE BAR on my new Kyocera Cell Phone. Shitty service, and let's not forget mystery charges that appear every three months that no one can explain. And Sprint allways makes billing errors in there favor, never yours..I find that ironic don't you?

  • It wasn't a merger at all, Sprint was sinking and bought a much better company (Nextel) out in hopes of driving business back up again, but the oposite happened; the Nextel half lost customers due to the reputation and horrible agents from the Sprint side. And I just might be fired along with 3,999 other people on 2/11 just for not making enough sales for them... lovely, isn't it? (^_^)

  • I was working with Nextel before the "merger", and things just got worse after that. I'm still workig for the company, but they keep coming up with ways to screw the customers and the agents that are trying to help them.  It is very frustrating to listen to these victims on the phone every day.

  • i live in california and once in a while they want to charme with text messeges from russia or belgum,and at the end i canceled that i got tired ,im free in may and out of here.If you don check your bill they will charge you for what ever they want,thats what i dont like about them.customer service is 3rd worl country .They never have the correct info or they system is not working for some reason.

  • as far as i know sprint and nextel only share the same billing system. The coverage for each phone sprint or nextel is different. Also on the area i live there is no problem like that, but nice vid.

  • My bill has been wrong for over a year... This month was the first time its EVER been right since I signed up for the phone/dsl package.. Every month I had to call in and argue with a idiot customer service person to get my bill right over a few dollars.. I'm switching to a differant provider, Sprint is BS.

  • I agree that the merger with Nextel was a bad idea! Sprint should have bought Altel (same CDMA technology). The biggest problem now with Sprint customer service is the outsourcing! No one enjoys calling India, Mexico, Phillipines, or Jamaca for service. Get a clue sprint! NO OUTSOURCING!

    On a good note, I love my sprint service & never drop calls. I just hate calling customer care but I do get good service at my local sprint store (in old town Pasadena, CA)

  • True. I dumped Nextel for Sprint. Then I had to dump Sprint after the merger. I called sprint service and got half broken English in some third world country. I always wanted Verison, but they have that GOD AWFUL long instructional message for my clients to wait through. So, I have Centennial. Best service I ever had. NO BROKEN ENGLISH, DROPPED CALLS AND NO Verison instructional message.

  • omigod, i'm so glad to see others with this issue. i just did a total rant on my youtube account (that still has a part four coming because the issue isn't resolved) about how badly they have screwed me. new service, never a working phone, and telling me i'm responsible for a BILL, not to mention credit card charges incurred. i'm incensed.

  • Embarq offers horrible service, charges higher prices than quoted so the can be bought out by showing a profit. Their CEO made over $150 million in bonuses but will not spend a dime making improvements to their infrastructure (people/equipment) what can we do as consumers?
